My husband and I met up with a friend from Virginia and one from Jacksonville for lunch here. The location was just perfect for the day we had planned. I hadn't been to Smokey Bones in forever, since the one in Boca Raton, FL closed down. We had a delightful chat with our server, Amy, who helped us make wonderful choices for our lunch. The pulled pork was a favorite, the mac and cheese was just scrumptious and I really, really wanted more garlic toast but I held myself back. We even had gift cards with us that Amy worked expertly to our bill. I do like this location and I would definitely recommend the food to anyone in the Melbourne area!

It was what you would expect from an establishment like this. Food was decent, but nothing to write home about. The wait staff was super friendly and honestly made the experience so much better. They have buy one get one free wings, so there really is nothing to complain about if that is what you are after! I recommend going here if you want decent cheap food.

Everything was on point! The steak was delicious, perfectly cooked to my order, the mashed potatoes creamy, the broccoli steamed perfectly, the mac&cheese was sooo good, and that corn bread is to die for with that delicious butter. My hubby loved his wings, been coming here after a hiatus, and I have to say, this is delicious!! Not a one bad thing and this is our 3rd time in two months. Our server was so nice and friendly, the ambiance was nice too, even in the busiest that we have been here, we get our food hot and within a reasonable time. Definitely a keeper.

As always we had a fantastic meal here. The service was excellent, food excellent and ambience, excellent!! I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in BBQ . Five stars!

    Pretzel Bones

I have to tell you that for the most part I love this place and I really hope they stay! But..... when they become so cheap that they water down their cheese dipping sauce for the pretzel bones it makes me wanna go, Now why do I love this place? Cheese dip should not be watery and taste watered down especially when you pay 14.40 for 6 peices of bread sticks and nasty watery cheese. SAD. It's making me consider not coming back. AND I HATE HATE THIS FEELING. Sorry Smokey Bones, but I cannot spend my hard earned money on this crap again! Give me a shout out when you go back to cheese dip instead of flavorless cheese looking dip.

Pros: full menu til 12:30am, late night happy hour, decent food, tasty drinks, good prices, plenty of seating, pretty clean. Cons: a bit understaffed, bartender seemed overwhelmed, food took a while.

If I could give this negative stars, I would. Dirty table. The advertisement for dessert was in need of a wipe down, as were all the bottles at the table (although obviously someone used to do that because most of the wording was missing from the bottles of BBQ sauce. Waitress was argumentative? Insisting there were 3 in our party when there were only two of us. 5:23 pm and they are out of corn...$27 for two slices of brisket. Way too salty and tastes a little "off". Normally I give a place a second chance, but the torn (and not taped seats) and a bathroom that was (at this point not surprisingly) dirty and only gives one square of single ply toilet paper at a time...will not be back!

Wow!! My experience was so good! I came here for happy hour and Smoky Bones definitely didn't disappoint. I got so much bang for my buck! I started with pretzel bones and a 6oz glass of Merlot and then moved onto the loaded nachos (which don't include meat) but I ordered the pork sandwich that only cost $5 which had enough meat to spread over my nachos and enjoy the sandwich for the next day (: then finished with a cornbread skillet. All of this great food came to $25. I forgot to take pictures of the whole spread but I left happy, well fed and content with my leftovers. Staff was great and friendly. Open bar space and restaurant with a nice relaxed ambiance. Bobby was our bartender and he was great! I will definitely be back, especially now that I know they serve brunch!

We had a big family dinner here on a day with b1g1 rib special. The server was very nice. The food and drinks were great and the portions were huge. We haven't even gotten through half of our dishes and had plenty of leftovers to take home. It's a great casual place for family dinner.

We've been having family drive big takeout orders down here from this location whenever they visit and it is just as good as I remember. The ribs are fall off the bone tender, and the barbecue sauce is the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and smoky. The cornbread is soft and sweet, the toast is buttery and thick, the coleslaw is chopped small and not too wet or too celery heavy. And the BEANS. I love these baked beans. They have pieces of pork in them and are perfect. I could eat an order of just beans and be happy. I've also recently discovered their sausages, which pair so well with the spicy barbecue. Their coconut cream pie and chocolate pie are delightful too. I've never eaten in here so I can't speak to the actual restaurant experience. That being said, the staff do go out of their way to pack the orders in the catering trays when they hear we're taking it long distance. We have sometimes had issues with pieces of the order getting left out, but they've always been very good about making it up to us. I have no good pictures of the food because I inhale it the second it arrives. Trust my one rib photo and twenty years of loyalty to the Woody's name and give them a try!

Support the local places that are grinding day in and day out to earn your dollar. Woody's has an ENORMOUS menu with just about anything (baby back ribs and half chicken and sweet potatoes are STANDOUTS) and the prices are EXTREMELY fair for this economy. Clean and cozy restaurant, not loud, clean bathrooms, too. No need to look ANYWHERE else for BBQ.

We visited Charlie & Jake's on Father's Day and first impressions were great. The place was spotless, had that rustic barbecue-joint vibe, and despite the holiday crowd, we were seated quickly and greeted right away by a friendly, professional server. Service was pleasant, but our drinks seemed to be playing hide-and-seek. We had to ask for refills every single time we wanted one. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered the smoked Old Fashioned, which arrived with enough dramatic presentation to make nearby tables stop and stare. Absolutely worth ordering. A small hiccup: when I unwrapped my utensils, the knife appeared to have some sort of residue on it. Since I didn't actually need the knife, I didn't ask for a replacement, but it was worth mentioning. Now let's talk about the star of the show: the smoked chicken. Holy smoke signals, Batman. This was hands-down the best smoked chicken I've ever eaten. Moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked. I would happily order it every week and never get tired of it. My sides were collard greens and a baked sweet potato, both served in adorable metal measuring cups. The sweet potato was good. The greens were fine, but could have used a little more seasoning and personality. My husband ordered one of the meat platters. He enjoyed it, but there wasn't anything that inspired a speech, tears, or vows of lifelong devotion. The toast, however, nearly drowned itself in butter. I wasn't aware bread could absorb that much liquid and still maintain structural integrity. It was literally dripping when he took a bite. Somewhere between toast and sponge. My hush puppies were unfortunately the low point of the meal. They tasted like someone mixed flour and water, formed little balls, and introduced them to a deep fryer. They desperately needed seasoning and I didn't finish them. The fried pickle appetizer was excellent and the portion was generous enough to feed a small pickle-loving village. When the server dropped off the check, we politely declined. We don't leave restaurants without dessert unless there's a natural disaster involved. My husband ordered the banana pudding, which came in a cute square glass container and was very enjoyable. My daughter ordered the peach cobbler. Calling it "peach" felt a little optimistic. There were approximately two peach slices in a mountain of cobbler topping. She loves crust, so she wasn't upset, but if you're expecting fruit, bring a magnifying glass. The filling itself could have used more flavor and some warm spices, and it was absolutely swimming in caramel sauce. A good vanilla bean ice cream would have elevated the whole thing. My son ordered the peanut butter chocolate pie and immediately entered a state of dessert enlightenment. Deep peanut butter flavor, rich chocolate, absolutely fantastic. Final takeaway: Order the smoked Old Fashioned. Order the smoked chicken. Order the peanut butter chocolate pie. Maybe don't order the hush puppies unless they've found a spice rack since Father's Day. Overall, a clean restaurant, friendly service, excellent atmosphere, and a few standout menu items that are worth coming back for.

Went for lunch on a Friday and they had two servers and only one working the dining area. We sat in the very dark dining area. Every surface was painted black. They both came with "fried chips" and the platter had another side and we chose beans. Bourbon Bbq sauce was our choice. The pork was good. Good portions on both sandwich and platter. Beans had some "heat" which I don't favor but my son really liked. The chip fries or fried chips - whichever they call them were seasoned with a garlic salt it tasted like. However they could have used about another minute I the fryer. The bigger ones were raw in the middle. May have been a byproduct of a large party in their event room throwing off their timing. But if cooked a bit more they would be a unique side for the area and good. Server was stretched thin. Freshens my son's drink but not mine until he brought the check. By then meal was over. The smoked wings themselves were outstanding, and the Hot Garlic sauce was especially memorable because it featured real garlic, which added incredible flavor. These are definitely wings I will come back for and highly recommend to anyone visiting. My partner ordered the BBQ pulled pork quesadillas with seasoned fries.
