This is a dog friendly bar with dog bowls and treats, out door seating and a large amount of space. The staff is super sweet very helpful and the food was cooked well and tasty! They have a large variety of beers and tell you taste test before buying! read more

The beer was stellar, live music was on point, pizza was one of the best I've ever had, atmosphere is extraordinary, and the plans for future renovations and development are super cool. Great place! They have indoor or outdoor seating, large patios & live bands! Very nice selection on craft brew taps, something for everyone, and cocktails as well! Our group ordered a few of their amazing hand crafted pizzas! There is a drink bar and a separate food bar, lots of friendly staff working each section, so very short wait line on a Saturday night. They give you a number for your table and bring the food out to you when it's ready. I wish we lived closer, this place would definitely be our "go-to" hang out! read more

Pizza was really good! Crust was garlicky. I think it was a tad undercooked to our preference. We like our pizza well done & crispy. Sauce was delicious! We had the pepperoni with 3 cheeses. It's not a full service restaurant. You walk to counter to place your order. They do have a separate bar area. It's a brewery so we decided to give their beer a try. The Louisiana laeger was my favorite. The atmosphere seems fun, but we went on a Friday night where it was mostly college students. I definitely recommend them. read more

Stopped by for lunch on way back from Houston. We haven't had the best luck with pizza places in the past, but this one broke the unlucky streak! We ordered the Butcher Block pizza. It was served on time, hot and tasty. It was a bit messy to eat because of the ingredients, but tasted great. Nice atmosphere and very clean. We did not try the beer, but they seemed to have a nice selection. There is a gift shop and outdoor seating as well as a loft. We really enjoyed it and would definitely return. read more

Maybe I'm a little tipster but damn that lobster roll hit the spot. I've been to Maine etc and tried many but this one was buttery salty goodness and full of lobster. Worth the 17$ for sure. Had the deviled eggs also really good. Did a flight, pistol bridge, saison, juaca juaca and herves. I liked juaca and pistol best. Nice place great food and good beers. Winner to me! read more

Lovely! Entertaining activities as well as delicious food. The pizza came out briefly (I got the 8 inch- not the 12 inch), and it was delectable! A friend got a bacon burger and enjoyed it. Beer was great. Shirt looks cool. Food was awful. Got the fried chicken sandwich which was so thinly sliced like deli meat and over cooked. Only tasted the breading and chewed it like you would jerky. The kale slaw tastes like bad sea food. The fried catfish was okay, but only with the tartar sauce. The shrimp tasted rotten. Go for the beer and the beautiful set up they have. The chef needs take off his white chef coat and logistically rethink where he gets his food before he puts it back on. My first visit here, I have had Crying Eagle at several Louisiana bars and found their beer at my local stores in The New Orleans area. So, I already like their product. I stopped in early (3:30) on a Thursday when the brew pub was open, I had to finish up some work and they have WiFi, and beer! I got a 4 beer flight of beers I had not had. The Scottish Ale, Hefeweizen, an IPA, and a lager. All were really well done, the IPA I felt was trying to find its place but the Scottish Ale was on Point! The venue is very well done with bar height share tables that seat 6-8 inside, a small lounge area and a really nice outdoor patio with cornhole and tables under roof as well as patio tables under umbrellas. It was a hot afternoon, but the shade falls on the patio which is great. I didn't try the food, but groups were coming in and ordering pizza etc and it all looked good. I was able to finish up my work in a much more enjoyable atmosphere than a Starbucks or sitting in the hotel room. read more

I loved Crying Eagle! The atmosphere was great- an open and airy space with a lot of seating. There is a nice variety of beers as well. My husband and I each got a flight, and each tried all of the beers. The winter blush, pony, and Chuck were our favorites. I also liked the Juaca, which is beer that was in a tequila barrel so you can taste the tequila as well as a salty nite which pairs perfectly. The food looked amazing, but we did not eat anything. In one word: wow! Food: I ordered a classic burger and pretzel sticks. The pretzel sticks and beer cheese were the best combo I've had at any brewery as far north as Wisconsin. These were perfect. The classic burger (medium) was one of the best burgers I've had in ages. Perfectly made, dipped in the leftover beer cheese was so good that I may get it again tomorrow before leaving town. Beer: I got a flight of items that I don't think are flagship drinks. One was a summer shandy their flagship with lemonade), Fruit Stand (amazing), Blush, and the crown jewel- Pineapple Erryday. I know that most people may choose Lagers, Ales, and IPA at a brewery, but these sounded too unique and good to pass up. The pineapple dolewhip brew was a masterpiece for anyone who dreams of Pineapple Dolewhip between Disney trips. It wasn't sour, but tasted like a pineapple creamsicle. I can't describe it better than that. The only thing I wish, is that Disney sold this in the park. It would be on everyone's YouTube list of things to try at the park, but thankfully you can try it at Crying Eagle while it's on tap (which I hope is a long time). Environment: Perfect. I didn't go upstairs or outside, but I was impressed. I dont know if people still place a stigma on breweries as if they're bars, but I hope not. This is a family friendly business with the best food I've had in Lake Charles. If I lived here, I'd visit regularly. I will even stop here between drives to and from Texas. One more plus was talking to the owner and staff. Everyone was humble, kind, friendly, and helpful. Come to Crying Eagle, and you can even pee in a keg urinal. It was a 10 star experience. Looked nice. I'm relatively new to the Lake Charles area. At 5:20 pm, I walked in the door. After standing in a short line, the hostess asked if she could help me. Not, "hi, welcome to..." I said that I wasn't sure this is a place to try some new beer. She confirmed that I " could eat until 6:00, but we have an event that starts at that time so..." I turned around and left. It was evident by the way she cut her eyes at me in my cap, t-shirt, shirts & no make-up that she didn't think I belonged there. My friends & family like to visit breweries. This one is crossed off the list without my having tried a bite or sheer for discrimination of dressed down, professional seniors. read more

The experience was great. Staff we're helpful and friendly. The place is clean and trendy. On a girl trip we tasted a variety of beers. We ordered a couple of pizzas and they were timely and hot. We staying here as members of Harvest Host rv app. What a score. Beer was great but let's talk FOOD. After a 14 hr drive from FL (on our way to CA) I know we where hungry but WOW. First the brussel sprouts w horseradish creme and fresh dill and bits of smoked sausage. I will be dreaming of this... and the burger on texas toast oozing with juice and pepper jack was to die for. Seasoned fries to boot. We split this and got so full we took our BBQ pizza to go and ate it cold for breakfast and again at dinner on the road. Friggen delicious all day. Stop here. Great little place tucked away in Lake Charles. I was in Lake Charles for work, the location was awesome and pet friendly.

This brewery is AWESOME! We used to live in Lake Charles and were in town for a sports event. We went with our kids and had a great time. They have a ton of space and things for the kids to do. We each had a flight and the beer was really good. The food and service was also on point! We ordered a pizza for the kiddos and they devoured it. Crying eagle has built a great location to enjoy a beer. Shuffleboard, comfy couches, a stand for food near the entrance with different items every night, and rotating taps featuring some small batch brewery only beers. My favorite part, other than the Grapefruit Hop Blooded IPA was the little store downstairs with beer cheese, recipe books, glassware, and other beer themed tschotchkes. If you have enough beer or are hungry enough, you may even buy an $8 bag of artisanal beef jerky. Brilliant marketing if you ask me. The indoor seating is great but the real gem is the patio outside, especially on these nice fall days. Definitely a favorite spot in Lake Charles. Cant go wrong for lunch or dinner.
