If you go to any nail salon to do pedicure they would go all out with the cleaning your feet, massage, dead skin removal on your feet & etc. My experience here not a good one as they never mentioned anything! All they do is cut, remove paint, light scrub & rinse. That's itHorrible & never coming again. Owner said they don't do razor or dead skin removal for years like seriously they do it at all nail salons. Crystals did a great job on my nails. Kim was my tech and she gave me Halloween nails for a party I am going to. She didn't rush and even though it was about 2 hours my hands looks and feel lovely. She was meticulous. I got a manicure with gel shellac and a design. The price was fair. Next time I'm going to relax with a pedicure! I called ahead and was able to walk-in. All great things to say about this place! I made a 6:00 appointment for a mani pedi (knowing they close at 7:00) and they had no problem with it. I broke my toe the night before the appointment and they were so gentle they were able to do the pedi without hurting it. The woman was so gentle, had close attention to detail, and was very friendly. Her husband is just as friendly and very funny. They have a chair massager and warm foot bath, followed by a foot massage and scrub. I got the shellac nails for my manicure, which included a hand massage. Since they run the business on their own they operate best by scheduling appointments for services and accommodating walk-ins when able. Kim is truly an artist, coming up with fun designs for nail art, and providing a truly high quality finished product. Called this place to see if they could fit me in in 15 minutes for a simple acrylic nail removal - they said no problem, but when I showed up they were totally full with customers that were more than 15 minutes into their service. They told me I could take a seat but they only had a small love seat, which one of the customers kids was laying across with a DS so I had to stand. Finally a staff member told me I could sit at the empty booth and he had me put my hands in the acetone solution... for 35 minutes!!! I've had acrylics removed before and it has NEVER taken that long - they totally ignored me. Some of the staff have kids so they were playing by the pedicure chairs, while a couple more were in this room and kept open the doors to scream and cry - not exactly the most relaxing thing. Finally, after being there for 45 minutes, a staff member came over and worked on my nails. This part of the review is the only reason they get 3 stars from me - the woman was sooooo nice! I didn't get her name, but she was very helpful and gentle - great English-speaking skills. I had injured one of my fingers recently so she helped trim the nail and gave me some medicine to help the nail bed grow back. All in all, this wasn't a terrible location, but it could've been better for sure. read more

So I'm upping my star count. I have to say this is the salon I keep coming back too. While I am frustrated by their ability to only handle a few customers at a time, and walk-in's are more and more difficult to get; they do a great job. It's a husband and wife team, when their 2 kids aren't in grade school they're there too. They are the sweetest people. The husband talks most and is funny (at first I found him a little too much) and very nice. My biggest complaint is that they could have more employees and service more customers! I didn't care for the kids running around (although a lot of customers find joy in this or bring their own kids with to play with them). I don't like that I am never out in under 90 minutes. But I don't go anywhere else (I've tried most all other local salons) because of the awesome job they do. The husband especially, I have ingrown toenails, an issue I've had as a child, I find shoes uncomfortable, it's hurts just to touch my big toes, but he cleans out the sides of excess nail so wonderfully that I am pain free! (It does hurt while he's doing it but he knows and is as gentle as possible) over the years of coming here my toenails have gotten less painful to cut and clean, and I can actually do it myself every other time. But of course it doesn't look nearly as nice. I'm not really into the designs on nails but I have seen them turn out amazing designs on others. The cost is very reasonable. No other salon I've been to has actually helped my ailing toes! They do amazing shellac as well, designs WITH shellac I haven't seen anywhere else. So while I do have some frustrations with the salon I will always come here as long as I live in the area! read more

Wow. Just returned him from my first visit to this nail salon. I was looking for a new place closer to home and found this one. It's true that it's only the husband and wife, but I have to say, as long as you make an appointment, this was BY FAR the best service I've ever received at a salon. Between getting a new set of pink and whites and a pedicure, I was here for almost 4 hours. Now, I don't know if that is the usual amount of time, but the two people after me canceled so for awhile, I was the only person in the shop on a Sunday morning. I have to say, the quality of the work was outstanding. Lee started my nails and Kim finished. Then Lee did the pedicure. Both asked how I liked the length, the rounding of the edges, etc. I've never been asked for so much input and I was grateful (because usually the person doing it just powers through and doesn't really care what you say). I was a little nervous because I saw the reviews about the kids. The kids were there and really weren't a disruption at all. Lee offered me water, coffee, tea or soda and they asked me if I needed to run to the restroom before we started the pedicure. I think I've found my new nail shop! The quality was top notch and so was the customer service. It did feel like a "Mom and Pop" type place where they cared about your satisfaction. I live right around the corner and was hoping to find a good nail place close to my house for days off so I didn't have to go far. I am a regular customer for the following reasons. 1. The salon is owned by a couple who work 7 days a week and they are the only people who work there. Most nail places aren't open 7 days a week but this place is and the owner's work ethic is amazing. 2. I am quite picky and I was so impressed with how well my nails held up! I get shellac/gel nails and most other places I have been to only hold up for 2 weeks and then they start peeling---not here! The only reason I have to come back in the grow out...even after 1 month they are still firm and solid and looking great! I also get pedicures here and the same is true for the quality...they are good at doing cute designs if requested. 3. Their customer service is amazing!!! I got there at 6 pm one time and they stayed an hour late to take care of me which I really appreciated. 4. Prices are very reasonable and consistent with all other places I've been. 5. They do a pretty good job on honoring appointments and not making you wait long. Sometimes there is a 10-15 minute wait even with an appointment but that's hard to avoid when running a business like this. There are a few drawbacks but I'll preface that by saying they aren't deal breakers for me. 1. First, the owners always have their kids there after school hours and during the summer and on weekends. They are nice kids but they can be quite smothering and a little rowdy. Their parents work hard and don't want/afford childcare so again, I appreciate the work ethic but it takes away from making it a relaxing environment at times. 2. The male owner is also a bit of a flirt at times which can be inappropriate but once you get to know him it doesn't bother you as much because he is just trying to be nice. 3. The facility is a bit lacking in decor and style. It's outdated and a little messy. Nail polish selection is decent, though, and equipment seems to be clean and sanitary. If you care more about quality than comfort, this is definitely the place to go! read more

This was the 3rd time trying to get into this salon Usually when I have tried they have way too busy to take a walk-in, but I had heard good things about this salon so I wanted to try it. I walked in at 3:50 on a Monday afternoon. They did the shellac manicure but it took almost 2 1/2 hours and it was $37. Normally I pay $25. She told she was going slowly as to not damage my thin natural nails. I wonder if they hadn't let them soak in acetone for 20 minutes would they have been so flimsy. I was visiting the area and needed a pedicure badly and a fill on my solar nails I had recently had done for my daughter's graduation from college. I looked at Yelp reviews and although Crystal Nails was not the highest in number of reviews, the reviews it had were enough for me to take the plunge. I arrived unannounced and only had to wait 15 minutes (on a mid weekday). Being married to an Asian, I understand the culture and this shop is AOK. If you are fussy and want all the bells and whistles of a fancy salon, move on. I received a decent pedicure, many colors to choose from. When it was time for my nails, the kind woman made my nails look better than when I first had them put on. She had to repair 2 nails that had lifted and deal with all the super glue I had gooped on to keep those nails on for the past 5 days before I got in to deal with them. She also thinned my nails down because I did not like how thick they were. Perfection! All of this for $45. Thank you Crystal Nails and Spa for taking such good care of me. read more
