HAVE THEM WRAP YOUR GELS!!!! They filed my nails till there was almost nothing left. My toe nails are paper thin. Super disappointed.

I go here because the whole place feels nice and classy. They only have one person doing acrylic nails, and they are always busy. Sometimes it feels as though they are rushed when doing your nails, and seem not to notice when nails are not applied straight, even when pointed out. Further more, they can be a little rough. As a result, I won't be going here for acrylics. Also, although they apply the acrylics, you don't get the rest of the treatment that you would if you received a manicure. I love love love the pedicures here however, and the polish lasts on my toes until it is growing up, without chipping. Lots of options for shellac on the nails, however when I get shellac they don't always do the same massage parts as when you get a manicure, but sometimes they do. Perhaps it depends on how busy it is. Tips preferred in cash, but they will add it it card if you ask. Studio always feels very clean and hygienic. Also, you always need to make appointments 24 hours ahead. read more

Such a disappointment for the highest priced nail salon in Novato. $47 for mani/pedi. Had appts for 11:30 that didn't start until 11:55. Finally done over an hour and a half later. The only thing decent was the manicure massage. Polish application was messy and thick. Worst mani and pedi ever. read more

*Great Experience, Very Clean, Fair Pricing* New in town, I was unsure of this place after reading the reviews. I actually went to another salon, but they couldn't take me. I then called Crystal and they got me in within an hour. I was really happy with their service. My mani / pedi was well done and lasted several weeks, the pricing is fair, and the establishment is very clean. I needed to get my nails done for my wedding and had only a small window to have them done. I called around and Crystal Nails was able to squeeze me in. I expected it to take at least an hour to do pink and whites, but the amazing staff had me out and looking picture perfect in only 30 minutes. My nails look amazing, the atmosphere was very nice, and all the patrons seemed to be very happy long-time customers. I recommend giving Crystal a try! read more

Every time I've made an appointment, I've had to wait at least 10-15 minutes. The staff is not very friendly and the service has not been great. The gel has peeled off quickly, every time. It's disappointing because I live nearby but as much as i've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, i've been let down again and again. read more

I'm pretty sure this is a racist establishment. Walked in shortly after opening with my African American sister and Grandmother. Nobody was in there whatsoever besides the people working there and they said they "couldn't see" us that day. No explanation was provided of being busy or being booked with appointments or anything. Never going here again!! This location was highly recommended to me. I needed a nail app and the lady I usually go to couldn't take me last minute, so I called and made an app for myself and a girlfriend. We arrive 5 minutes before our app and the lady told us to pick a color and sit down. Immediately, I was not impressed. It's one of those places that has close to 10 people working at any given time and they accept both walk-ins and appointments. Overall, it felt like they don't care about the quality of the service they give, but instead they are more worried with the number of people served. 5:15 rolls around and all of the ladies are working on other customers still. Nobody had acknowledged that we were waiting still. Someone came in to buy a gift certificate and the staff had no problem taking a break from the mani they were doing to help that person. I asked when we would be helped as we did have an appointment at 5. The woman looks and me and told me we would have to wait 10-15 minutes. I asked if she was kidding and told her that I made an appointment for a reason, to avoid waiting. She said nothing back to me and just looked at me. We got up and walked away immediately. The fact that this company does not respect appointment times is enough of a reason for me to never patronize this business. read more

I would just to put things in perspective, particularly in regards to seeing a variety of comments and ratings. All reviews are subjective and are based on expectations. I have received consistently good manicures/pedicures and treatment from Crystal Nails. The cost is at par with every salon from San Francisco to Novato. I find that the time spent on each client is generous. The massage is longer than average and not "wimply" Everyone wants to look good and pamper themselves but for the workers and owners of these nails salons- it's long hours, low pay, and fierce competition. Those who don't remember when a manicure used to be quite expensive. It was performed at a hair salon as an added paid service. No everyone had regular manicures as they do today. You had to make an appointment or it was while you were at the salon having your hair permed etc. It's easy to complain when you are not seen at your appointed time. I had a similar mishap. They forgot I had a manicure with my pedicure although, I had an appointment time for it. After I mentioned the fact that I was still waiting for my manicure, they did take care of that. Some of the mishaps may have to do with communication. Scheduling is not the strong suit in any of the nail salons establishments I've been to. Taking appointments and allowing walk-ins can throw the schedule off if they are not careful not to overbook. But when the manicures and pedicures are priced the way they are, one has to work hard and efficient to make any profits. These salons are evolving to keep pace with regulations and OSHA. With such fierce competition, they are driving each other's business and salaries down. These are all food for thought every time you walk into a Vietnamese-run nail salon. read more

I made an appointment for a manicure because I needed my nails to be bare but done for an event. And in the end, I paid for them to do absolutely nothing to my nails. Not to mention they actually made fun of what bad condition my nails were in (I had just taken off acrylics a week before). When I got to my event let's just say the wardrobe stylist (nor I) could tell I had, had a manicure done. My mom, sister and I all went here a few days ago for mani/pedis. My sister and I both got gel manicures, and they are still perfect! The pedicures were great, too and the footbaths we clean. The massages that went with were to die for! Also, it's not one of those places that overwhelms you with the smells of acetone and nail polish - definitely a plus in my book. The only reason I give four stars is because our reservation got a little messed up; they didn't hear it was for three people, but in spite of that they were able to take us all on time. I called a week ahead for a mani and pedi for two. We arrived and they were ready for us. We picked our colors and the services began right on time. The manicures and pedicures were great, thorough, detailed, carefully done. In addition there was a back massage added while we waited for our nails to dry. I will return to this salon. I recommend calling ahead for an appointment. They do not over staff, therefore I didn't see many walk-ins accepted. read more

First time I had an appt for three people together for pedicures. However they did our pedicures one after the other. What's the point. Second appt. the woman didn't understand what I wanted so she gave me a French manicure then said it cost more. It's not what I wanted so I took it off that night. My daughter and I use to have our nails done by Crystal Nails BEFORE they moned a few doors away.and loved this salon Was in the area and took a look in and saw that I recognized some of the same staff and the salon looked so beautiful I had to get a mani/pedi. My wife suffers from a debilitating illness and does not like places to which she has not been before. Her loud complaints were no problem to the gracious, helpful women who work at Crystal Nails. They were patient, waiting until she would calm down, then would continue trimming her fingernails and toenails, doing a great job. We will be back. read more

I've been going here since it was at it's old location. In fact it was the first manicure I ever had- I've tried other locations and always end up back. The salon is gorgeous quiet and relaxing. Pedicure was average but much needed. I always get a little scared whenever a pedicure place cuts my cuticles because I've heard plenty of unclean horror stories but this place was spot on with cutting the right amount. Foot massage was really good although the product used didn't smell amazing. They used a base coat on only one foot, which is why I think they did a whatever job. read more

Overall this is a great place to get your nails done. The only downfall is that they don't have a huge color selection and after you've been there time and time again you have to start your color selection all over again... They were friendly when I walked in, got me in right away and I had a wonderful leg massage during my pedi, and they look great. Same for my nails. Absolutely terrible! The worst experience I have ever had. First off, I had an appointment and was on time. They had me wait for 20min before taking me. Acrylic set and gel took about 25 min! She rushed the entire time, did nothing to my cuticles, and was rude. The quality was so poor and I am extremely embarrassed to show my hands today. Worst place ever! Omg I can't express how horrible it was. My apt was at 5:30 and they didn't take me till 6:00 , the lady named "Fan" who knew no English started on my nails. First the nail polish color was not true to the samples , second she did not know how to file natural nails!! Of course she did not know any English so she didn't understand what I wanted..she applied the gel nail polish so thickly I was so upset, I told the other lady to tell her not to apply the gel color so thickly (as I am trained in nails and know about gel nail polish) other ladies who knew some English translated to her and she kept doing it, I asked if she was licensed and they said she was? I was so unhappy , the other lady offered to re due my nails, but it wasted already a hour or my time and I'm so upset how ugly my nails turned out (crying in my car) because they are my natural nails that I've had grown out finally. I asked if the owner can talk to me just because the manager was no help. The manager and other lady both said owner will not do anything or help. That the owner does not work here. They hanged up on me twice and told me to not to call back. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE!! They do not understand English and your nails come out horrible!! Never ever again I will come here. Horrible customer service. How can they still charge and hang up on my face and say that it's not fan fault for not knowing English? I used to go there often but now I own a gel polish kit, so I do my nails at home. The place is big and really nice. Everyone has always been friendly. I've always walked in and never had to wait more than 10-15min. The only service I've gotten there though has been getting my nails painted with gel polish only, no manicure included. Not many places do that and I was happy to find them because I prefer to do my own manicure (I'm Brazilian and am picky about removing cuticles). Anyway, they've always done a wonderful job and it cost only $17. read more
