A go-to breakfast spot for my girlfriend and I. This place has great omelettes that are actually a respectable portion for a great price. The servers are all very attentive despite the usually large crowd. Shaded outdoor seating is an option. Parking can be an issue given the location so be prepared to walk on a busy day. read more

Ok, we know it's on everyone's breakfast list, but the lunches are tasty and often a great deal, to boot. Friendly staff wave the locals in to pick a spot and remember your drink preferences. Basically, a diner atmosphere and they have added a patio with shade and water for the pets. The salads are very generous and come served with a cup of soup. My soup favorites are the mushroom, the artichoke spinach, spinach potato, and split pea. On a recent trip, the had the grilled tuna, asked for it rare. Tasty and hit the spot. I went on a Saturday morning at about 8:30 AM and since it was off-season, it wasn't not busy. My server was very quick took my order and it did not take long for them to prepare. I like the cream chip beef and I ordered it over hashbrowns. I have to say it was a lot of cream to beef and very little hashbrowns. the cream chipped beef had a nice flavor. I should've ordered an egg but finding out it was four dollars more for one egg I didn't order it and really it was enough food. I would go back for lunch. I think the menu had more options for lunch that I would've liked. read more

In a "resort town" surrounded by overpriced tourist trap restaurants, I wanted a takeout meal that tasted good and wasn't from a chain. Enter the Crystal. I called ahead and ordered a souvlaki salad to go. The place was pretty empty because I was coming was between meals. The service was good, I was quickly rung up and out the door. I do wish I knew ahead that they charge extra for CC transactions. I get it, they have to pay the fee so they pass it to us. If I was a cash customer, I'd be glad I wasn't paying more to offset the costs of ppl using CCs. I don't take sides on the issue. I just wish I knew before I ordered because I would have taken cash with me. The salad was a good size, incredibly fresh, had a respectable amount of meat (I always wish there was more), enough feta to prevent me from complaining, and it was packaged decently for travel. The tzatziki sauce was pretty good. It seemed homemade. The salad was enough for two meals so I feel ok about it costing about $7.50 per meal. I would definitely return to try it again. read more

Went to Crystal Restaurant when visiting Rehoboth Beach. It looked very much like a local diner vs one of those boogie brunch spots (which made me love the place even more). The waitress we had was quite a character. Actually everyone who works there seemed to have a bit of spunk to them. I started with the chipped beef. I have never had chipped beef but it was quite amazing to try. It was very creamy. Then I had the Egg, tomato, and avocado on sour dough. This dish was ok but wasn't what I really expected. Wow. Place has changed in the wrong direction. Doubt it will be around more than a year or two before sold or closed. Prices went through the roof. Breakfast for four now $150.00. Now appears geared toward the wealthy beach renters. With the price advantage gone so many nicer places to go for those prices. It was great for so many decades but adieu. read more

I am giving this 2 stars for only one reason and it's a personal thing for me. They charged an additional fee usage a credit card. While I understand the increase in costs this restaurant already has pricing that is much higher than others in the area for just standard fare. The food was good and the portion sizes were average, but because of the high prices and the additional card fee it is not a place I would recommend. read more

This is an old school diner with a very Greek feel, perhaps the owners are Greek. The service was excellent and the food was flavorful and prepared just as ordered! We came in for brunch, and my friend had the soup of the day which was vegetable beef loaded with all types of veggies, including carrots and cabbage. It was a large bowl and super flavorful! I ordered a side of the corn beef hash with a poached egg on top. The waitress said it would be the same price to get the corn beef hash with two poached eggs on top, which I thought was very kind of her and showed that she knew the menu very well. This was an ode to my father, who passed away a year and a half ago he used to love having this for breakfast, and I figured it would be a good way to give a nod to him on this Father's Day week. The corn beef hash was fried crispy, and the poached eggs were cooked to absolute perfection! during our meal, there was a family in the back that began dancing to a traditional Greek song and clapping. Went to brunch today with 3 girlfriends. I had a great cheddar, Swiss and spinach omelet with an English muffin. Two of them had the special which was the egg, cheese and avocado sandwich, and one had a chicken salad sandwich with coffees and tea. All were delicious!! Closest food to a New York diner around. We are visiting for a few days and happened upon Crystal's. One draw was that it had its own parking lot!! It's a no-nonsense diner. Wow! This place was fantastic! My girlfriend and I came to visit from Baltimore. We wanted a simple, delicious breakfast and this place gave us all of that and more. It's small and cute with a large, shaded, patio out front. We chose to eat on the patio. Our server was so sweet and the manager (or owner) came to chat with us for a bit. Visited around 11AM Saturday morning. Came here as the lines at Egg and Rise Up Coffee Roasters were 30+ minutes long just to order and even longer before getting the food. I was able to get food to go from Crystal Restaurant within 15 minutes by calling first, that was a huge plus. The restaurant was really busy with all the tables filled but there were some seats available at the bar area. Staff was very nice despite them being short on employees. Ordered the following: BLT sandwich -- the best item we ordered and it was really good. Good amount of bacon and loved the amount of refreshing lettuce and tomatoes in the sandwich. Hot chocolate -- very bad. Staff used 1 packet of hot chocolate powder and added hot water, which is fine but 1 packet was only meant to be added to 8 - 10 oz of water, when the staff made the drink in a 20 oz to go cup and added more than 2 times the intended amount of water, the result was terrible watered down hot chocolate. I took one sip and threw out the rest, it was a complete waste. 2 eggs scrambled with home fries -- it was meh. eggs were overcooked and had a leathery texture and not sure if it was meant to be this way but both eggs and potatoes had no salt at all. I would have given this restaurant 3 stars but service and speed to getting food were great, adding an extra star for those aspects. read more

HOWEVER, when the bill came it was probably the priciest breakfast ever for 3 people. Waffle, omelet, bagel egg sandwich, one pancake, coffee and two iced teas- $56. Right!!! Waiter "the coffee is nothing specials", then he follow with "is a Columbia roast great taste" which one Is it? Haha! The food was good, came out warm, bacon was crispy and eggs were not overcooked. The service on this establishment is amazing. They hire foreigners for the summer for the most part. The young men that were working there were so polite and sweet.
