They have a few tvs so it is a great place to watch sporting events too. They are known for their Turkey cheesesteak! Its a must to order whenever I come here. SUPER TASTY!! After settling in at the hotel and doing everything that needed to be done for the day, my crew and I decided to head out for a quick bite to eat and regroup. We weren't really up for driving very far and with this being off season, options were kind of limited. Gary's was open for business and willing to take us in. It was getting close to closing time for them, but they welcomed us in a heartbeat. Parking was a bit iffy, but they assured us where we were parked was fine. We came in and were guided to our seats. Menus in hand and we were on our way. We sat in a kind of enclosed patio area right off the main area of the place. Our server was stellar and on top of her game. She didn't miss a beat, but when she wasn't sure on an answer she would asked and get back to us in no time. Having already eaten that day and it still sitting heavy in my stomach I decided that I would go with something along the dessert realm. After looking over their menu the only thing dessert wise was their Brownie A la Mode. Which when you think about it, two desserts in one. Brownie and ice cream. This came out on a plate of its own and looked like it could be a meal unto itself. I'm not complaining in the least there. It is their home-baked brownie with vanilla ice cream on top. Then they add to it whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a cherry. I carefully made sure that I got a little bit of everything with each bite I took. The brownie was spectacular and of course I cannot complain about the ice cream. With as big as it was, I left here with a fuller belly than when I arrived. read more

Went here with a group of 7 for dinner. I had a turkey burger, which had good flavor but was over cooked. I upgraded my side to veggie pasta salad, which I dud not think was worth the $3 up charge. My fiancée ordered the seafood pasta, which she said was good but probably would have been better off getting seafood from another restaurant around. Mediocre food, I find there are other, better places in Dewey and neighboring towns. I would come back for drinks, but hit somewhere else up for the food. read more

We had already been to two restaurants near Gary's and decided to give it a try. What a mistake. There were 2 high tops and a table available. The table stayed dirty the entire time we were there. We had the hummus. Onions to dip with? Very little pita. My daughter had the deluxe turkey burger and she said the sauce was gross . My husband had the turkey burger. Both looked and tasted like frozen patties. My son's grilled cheese/tomato pie looked like a kid's portion. Crab soup was essence of crab! Even the crabcake looked and tasted premade not homemade. The positives nice bartender and good Guinness pours. I don't write too many negative reviews. I wish we had gone to either of the two we had already been to. Just stopped for Drinks. The have an extensive beer menu. I believe at least 10 drafts if not more. They even have their own small batch brewery which they proudly pour. The draft menu was not just cheap everyday beers. It contained many local and regional craft beers. The server at the bar was warm and friendly and we will definitely go back. Many locals and tourist hit this place regularly. I believe it was probably the most extensive beer menu we encountered at Dewey. I may be wrong but didn't find another establishment close that beat it. read more

Thank goodness for Gary's! Me and 3 of my girlfriends were in Dewey for a show at the Bottle and Cork and needed to grab a quick bite beforehand and ended up at Gary's. We were running a little late so we were happy to see that they had a few tables open. The server was a young guy with long curly hair, I wish I knew his name because he was the BEST and made our quick dinner memorable! We told him our situation and put in a few apps within the first 30 seconds of us sitting down. He was shocked at our quick decision making and even complimented us on ordering all this favorite things on the menu! So we got... soft pretzels with cheese, the salmon bites, the chicken quesadilla, and the seafood quesadilla. The food came out quickly and it was the perfect meal before drinking the night away! My fav was the salmon bites, it even came on a little bed of seaweed salad. The seafood quesadilla was pretty awesome as well. For just a typical bar with typical bar food it fit the bill for what we needed. Nothing super fancy or anything to write home about but it was perfect for our situation. We ended our dinner with a round of shots and headed off to the show! The next time I am in Dewey I would do this all over again! read more

The food is very good, the service is always friendly and professional, and it's vegetarian and even vegan-friendly to boot! Additionally, one weekend as I was waiting for my takeout, I heard one of the bartenders chatting with a regular as if they'd known each other for years. We just left Gary's disappointed! The food was horrible! My husband ordered the hummus platter and I ordered the crab cake sandwich. First, the hummus platter, no flavor, just ground up chick peas and lemon juice, no olive oil, tahinis, garlic, etc., they called it a platter, so he was expecting some olives or something with it. also came with two slices of slimy lemon. Gross, the slimy lemons with white spots were served in the glass of water too! My crab cake...so fishy I couldn't even eat it. Waiter asked how things were so we were honest, he said he's going to get the kitchen manager to come out but she never came out. The waiter came back later and told us that the kitchen manager told him that the hummus tasted fine, and the crab cakes..that it was fresh. He just said sorry and brought out our bill. We paid and left, never will we be eating here or returning to Dewey. read more

We did a catering order for a large house party. We worked with Holly via email and she was great! Extremely responsive with answering all of our questions and providing estimates and sample menus. Gary delivered the food and everything was great! The food was delicious and heated to the perfect temperature when delivered. Portion sizes were great - there was a ton of food!! I wish we had time to check out the actual restaurant, but next time! Overall, the staff was responsive and professional and the food was amazing. The patio was cute and they allowed dogs, it wasn't the best/worst food I've had at a beach restaurant, our server was a little slow but my problem was the bathrooms were filthy! The toilet in the ladies room looked like it has never been cleaned and the men's room (I used it bc someone was taking a long time in the ladies) had inches of filth and grime around the floorboard and surfaces. My wife and I picked this place by default (other places had lines) and had an enjoyable dinner. Shared our first Natty Boh and had great service. The fish tacos and salmon bites were excellent main dishes. We had the cornbread appetizer, and while it was more than adequate, it was pretty bland and seemed like it came out of a box kit like you'd do at home. Our entrees were about $12 each. Overall, 3 and a half stars, we'd likely dine here again if we were staying longer. read more

"It's Memorial Day weekend", she shouted after I had told her the potatoes in my potato salad were undercooked.
