Crystal is an absolute gem! I am so lucky I stumbled on her! I have never found a stylist that truly listened to me. I've been coming to Crystal for about a year now and each and every appointment, she listens to what I'm looking for, reviews photos with me and makes professional suggestions. My hair color has always been spot on PERFECT and she's helped me work hard to grow my hair long again! It looks so beautiful as she's helped me perfect my hair regimen and showed me how to really take care of it! She is a blast to work with, so sweet and funny and knows exactly what she's doing. I really look forward to all of my appointments because we sit and talk like old friends while she pampers me. Now several of my coworkers AND my boyfriend come to her! I went yesterday and met Crystal for the first time. She was so nice and welcoming. Being a hairstylists also it is so hard to find someone to do your own hair. Crystal did an AMAZING job. From a person who is always nervous about haircuts - INCREDIBLE! (I seriously just joined Yelp to write this review even though there are one million other excited reviews about Crystal already.) Crystal was everything I was hoping for and more. She spent the better part of 2 hours with me, making sure I was perfectly comfortable and understood exactly what was going on. (I had a huge chop from waist-length to just-past-my-shoulders and was a little scared but I let her do whatever she wanted and it's beautiful and textured and I LOVE IT!) She picked up that I am a math person and even explained some super cool math stuff about why the same haircut looks different on different people (hint: it's all about the shape of the scalp) and I seriously caught her with a protractor on every inch of my head, making sure I had the exact best haircut possible based on the slope of different parts of my head! A complete custom haircut! Every time! She was also telling me about all of the interesting classes and conferences she goes to to keep learning more about this stuff - and she sounded genuinely excited both to learn the stuff, and to share it. I follow a group on facebook and every time someone asks for a stylist in the area who is good with cut and color Crystal's name always pops up! I'll be honest - I do have a hair stylist and I've been going to her for quite some time now, but she's in Sacramento and I can't always book her right away. I told Crystal what I definitely did not want (extremes either too dark or too light) and we kind of just went from there. She is so easy to talk to and very very sweet. I liked that she was up front about her prices and asked if what we were doing was okay with that. I had not had my hair professionally done in over a year so I asked around for recommendations and I heard about A Splash of Color through social media referrals. I was fortunate enough to be one of Crystal's hair models. Not knowing what to expect I was excited after booking an appointment with her. The appointment process was great and she sent follow up text reminders to confirm and remind me of my appointment time. On the day of my appointment, I arrived at her salon in Folsom and loved the atmosphere. Her salon was clean and organized and Crystal herself was very friendly. She ended up giving me a cut and color which I was very pleased and happy with. She completely transformed my "new look." I was actually embarrassed by what I had come in with but she made me feel at ease. I posted my new look on social media and received many compliments and even had a friend book an appointment with her.
