I never used the package I had rented for the season, when I found that I needed a surgical procedure. There was absolutely no difficulty when I asked to defer my rental, only that they didn't have a mechanism to to so, they refunded me the entire amount. A friend and I were in need of quick assistance as he was planning on boarding the next day. We googled and found this shop, so we gave them a quick call and Peter answered. He was very informative on the call and helped answer our questions. He even gave us a call right back when he gave us some incorrect time frames, which we found very helpful. Once we walked in Peter immediately greeted us and started to help us out, he even went to grab someone who could further explain and help my friend with his needs. Ben then came out and was extremely informative to my friend. He showed him some other areas of his board that needed to be fixed, and explained how the wax he wanted wasn't really the best option for his board at the moment. He spent sometime with us to make sure we understood everything he was telling us, and then took his board back to get started working on it. Then when we came back to grab his board Elsa quickly greeted us, grabbed it and started to helped but his bindings on. While she worked on that Christian helped provide additional information and fun facts as well as other resorts to go to. Honorary shout out to the owner (Justin) dog (I am so sorry I just can't spell the dogs name) who literally walked up to us and for some reason just KNEW I needed to pet a dog that day. Thank you. As well as the other workers who I noticed immediately acknowledged every person who walked in, seemed incredibly informative, and honestly, it didn't seem like they wanted to upsell more so like they wanted everyone to have the best experience and the best products coming out of the store. That's great business. I did want to say that we were advised that the wax would last for longer than our trip (we arrived Wednesday and left Monday) and by Sunday the wax was completely gone. So not sure, if it was because of the conditions of the slopes, or something else. I'm sure there could have been plenty of reasons why that happened. We've been to Crystal Ski Shop a handful of times and they have always provided good service. One time in particular we had an issue with a certain part of our cross country ski - it would sometimes pop out during our run. We understand that these are rentals and things happen so we didn't stress too much. When we went to return them though we did mention the issue and Nina was kind enough to offer us a "free rental" for our next visit. This wasn't something she had to do for us but she insisted and we really appreciated the customer support! You guys always have and continue to be our "go-to" for rentals. Alex was really great. We had a harrowing weekend already having to abort our plans to go to Grand Lake getting stuck in our car for 8 hours only to turn around once I-70 was open. The shoes that were fitted on one of us was swapped out at the last minute because it appeared they were 2 left feet. The pair we received were much more warn which became apparent when the grommet detached. Ugh. I wish Alex would have been more emphatic about the damage insurance - he just mentioned it in passing. This happened just as we were about to hike El Dorado canyon not even 500 yards into the trek. There is no way this could have been any fault of the average weight 54 year old woman who was wearing them. We weren't about to drive the 30 minutes back to your shop to exchange it so another day lost on our already short weekend. I want to leave a review but I don't like not giving the business a chance to rectify the situation before spreading to all future clients our dissatisfaction with how this all went down. $20 for a repair of an already really warn piece of equipment is rediculous. Our next days rental in Estes had no added charge and they agreed that having to pay for this damage was highway robbery. I gave this company over a week to respond to my private message. They failed. If you are going to rent - do so in Estes Park and travel with your equipment from there. It is worth the trip for better customer service. read more

However, once we got to the mountain the binding fell off and I had to rent one from the mountain. Pretty upsetting and disappointing but when we went to return the manager was very kind. I was walking around the area last year sometime around end of April 2019 and came across this ski shop. I came in to look at some gloves since I was looking to replace my old gloves. Nina was super helpful and very knowledgable about the products they sell. I bought quality gloves and ended up getting my board waxed for a reasonable price. My board always had dry areas since I started using it and whenever I had my board waxed in California, the dry areas never really went away. After my board was waxed here, the bottom of my board looked supple and nicely waxed. Excellent service and products! read more

Wish there were more stars to give Crystal Ski Shop. My daughter and I are 1st time skiers and rented our equipment for a trip to Eldora. We had reserved our equipment on-line and when we arrived to pick up the equipment the place was packed. Every member of the Crystal team was overly accommodating, friendly and really seem to enjoy their work. Abe was the one who personally handled our equipment rental and went through a number of steps to be sure everything we rented fit perfect and was right for first time skiers. The return process was incredibly smooth and efficient and once again, another team member providing great customer service. I'm a snow virgin. I've seen in on tv, I've driven by it, I've flown in it. But it wasn't until recently that I got to trek in it. And it was all due to the help of Crystal Ski Shop I was able to rent my snow shoes for super cheap ($12 for the entire day) and able to get my snow shoeing on, up in the hills. The service was super friendly, fast and welcoming. I wasn't able to get my rentals in on time, so was embarrassed about being late in returning them, but the cool guy helping me out said not to worry and didn't make me feel like a jerk for keeping them an extra day. My birthday is New Years Eve, so when I decided last minute to go snow shoeing on my birthday during the day, I thought it would easy as pie to rent a pair of snow shoes. Boy, little did I know how popular it is to rent snow shoes on New Years Eve day. Every shop from REI Denver to that Army surplus store in Boulder were all either rented out or reserved. I started calling all the ski shops in both towns and finally my anxious fingers dialed Crystal Ski Shop. I blurted out, "It's my birthday and nobody has show shoes, do you have snow shoes for me?" "It is your birthday huh?" The guy on the other line responded "We usually don't save snow shoes, but since it is your birthday I will hold you a pair." I was so excited, and picking up the show shoes was painless, affordable and convenient. This is where I go when my skis need some love. Waxing them in the garage is fine but if there is more work thats needed or I have little time they always take good care of them. Recently they brought my Line Profits back to life after 2 years in storage. The plastic was falling apart on the bottom. They were so hairy I could have left the skins at home. The tech called and explained all the options and what he thought was best. It was like a personal project to save the skis. Two base grinds, multiple waxes. Heroic. And because I was originally quoted only $20 for a hot wax, he did all that work for free. Should have been over $100 probably. But they care about the skis and care about their service and did not want to change the price. This place is full of good people and they know what they are doing in the shop. read more

Top notch customer service. Justin is as kind as small business owners come. I have always enjoyed renting/tuning at Crystal but today the service was above and beyond. They had a malfunction with the stone grinder and Justin promised me that my skis would be ready for our trip tomorrow. He took skis to Golden to finish the tuning and then personally dropped my skis at my home after communicating the process at several times throughout the day.
