I really wanted to love this place. I met the owner Roswell and he is very kind, as is the man who was bartending. The aesthetic of the inn is chic, but the cleanliness really left a lot to be desired. We ate at the bang bang bar which was very drafty, had boxes everywhere and less than mediocre food. The pictures I saw of the food online were nothing at all like what I was served. It was edible but not good. The nachos were covered in cheese sauce, the chicken taco was hefted with cold kraft shreds. They were out of pork. Perhaps all Covid related, but disappointing nonetheless. Cider wasn't bad. Very much enjoyed the hot tub. Definitely a highlight. Most of the 3 stars is for that. But the room. I stayed in the soak room specifically because I wanted a soaking tub. The room was large and cute, but I honestly couldn't wait to leave. It had a smell coming up from the bar making the room smell like spilled beer. The toilet certainly wasn't cleaned, the tub was stained and rusted, and most disturbingly, when I turned down the sheets there were BLOOD STAINS. I told the man in the bar about it and Roswell came up and apologized and changed our sheets and couldn't believe it because they use a linen service and have a wonderful cleaning team. I just assume this room was not cleaned between guests in some oversight, but really, that is not okay especially considering covid. We chose to escape the city for a night and change up our scenery somewhere safe for Valentine's day and we were pretty uspet. For over $200 for the room I'm pretty disappointed that all we got was an apology and a change of sheets. They could have at least offered us a coffee in the morning.

Great getaway from NYC! Johnny, Roswell & Lamont were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and we loved the modern/ rustic charm of the place! The Bang Bang Bar was hopping when we went for dinner (Pinks cantina tacos) & drinks(the wine selection was great and the Stickett Inn signature cider was very nice too). Definitely recommend Stickett Inn for a weekend away from the hectic city life or even just to stop in for a bite to eat and a drink if you're passing through.

We always have a lovely time at the Stickett Inn. We come almost monthly and everyone who works there is so gracious and hospitable. There is a great sense of community in Barryville and no matter the weekend, there is always some event to attend. They can offer recommendations of several "going-on" and know all the best restaurants and activities. We've stayed in each of the five spaces and they all offer something unique from one another, it's hard to choose a favorite. We'd like to thank Johnny and Roswell for creating this unique and fun place for all to enjoy.

We adored this place. Super cute, super clean, and super quirky. Everything was immaculate and so much fun to look around at. Our beds were extremely comfortable and we had no issue feeling right at home. Roswell was a fantastic host from booking to check out. The four of us will 100% return for hopefully a longer stay at the Stickett Inn.

If you're visiting Sullivan County or thinking about a weekend upstate, the Stickett Inn is an absolute MUST! The rooms are beautifully designed and well appointed, bed was super comfy, loved the spacious shower and soak tub, great bath products, and cozy sitting area (wine fridge? yes please!). The Bang Bang Bar / gift shop at the Inn offers a well curated assortment of local treats and cool products, plus good company ... we had a lot of fun hanging out there and drinking with a very eclectic mix of local folks and other guests! They serve Intelligentsia coffee (my favorite!), fabulous cocktails, Stickett Inn's very own cider (I'm normally a wine gal but I couldn't get enough of this heavenly brew), and deliciously fresh food (get the nachos, trust me). John and Roswell are such kind, funny, and gracious hosts. We didn't end up leaving the compound for the entire weekend, it was great. I suspect the Stickett Inn is even more charming in the autumn when the leaves start to change ... I cannot wait to come back!

Cons: -heat/thermostat isn't consistent... it blows directly on the bed closest to the window so that part of the room gets super hot while the bathroom area is still cold. You have to turn it way up to get the room up to warm and then turn it down. -tv is limited as far as commercial-free channels and you cannot stream or mirror. -the black out curtains did not reach the windowsill so light crept in right at eye level in the morning. Also they did not overlap and we had to close them with a hair-clip. -No snack shop in the lobby- just vending machines that only take singles. The front desk kindly made change for us. -The saline pool smelled weird... -we booked another night and I called the front desk early in the morning to keep the same room, and they said it was ok, i checked-in online and all looked good, so we went back to sleep and then the front desk kept calling because it wasn't going through on her end and said i had to come down... so i did and then showed her that it worked on my app and she said oh, ok then. I cannot remember the last time I used a TV in a hotel, but there was a MLB baseball game on TBS that night so I turned it on. The picture quality was like an old analog TV. It was like looking through a lens covered with Vaseline. When I looked in the back of the set, the signal from DISH was coming in the antenna coax instead of HDMI, which explains the quality (see photo). The lights weren't bright enough to read in bed. She even made dinner reservations for us at a favorite restaurant. The space itself is beautifully decorated, full of natural light, and well-appointed. There were Audubon prints on the walls, a record-player in the corner, and prosecco in the mini-fridge. The bed offered us one of the most comfy nights' rests I've had in ages. And it's just a quick walk to Main Street or to the river. Do yourself a favor and book your next stay here. (Oh, and in case it wasn't obvious, she said "yes"!)
