Towing company attempted to illegally tow my vehicle from a legal city parking space on West Upper Factors Walk, directly across from the Hyatt Regency in Savannah. There was signage indicating it was a legal parking space during a legal time. Sign says that there is no parking ONLY Wednesday and Friday between 3am and 6am. This was Monday at around 10am. Tow company forced me to pay $175 or confiscate my vehicle. Tow truck driver claimed it was reserved for the carriage stand but the signage clearly shows the carriage stand is only the space that was entirely behind my vehicle. read more

Please Read: To anyone and I mean anyone who gets towed by this company, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Our car was towed off of a private property with NO AUTHORIZATION form, we even asked the guy who called Crystal Wrecker's to have us towed and he told us that he didn't have to sign anything-- which is illegal in relation to "O.C.G.A. 44-1-13 and City of Savannah Ordinance 6-1406." We called the non emergency line to confirm this illegal practice, and even had to have the officer come with us to Crystal Wrecker's office. Some of their signs and documents are outdated too, pointed out by the officer himself. Their displayed Private Property Towing License expired in December 2024, posted right next to their office window. DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY CHARGE YOU MORE THAN THAT PRICE FOR YOUR CAR BACK. Now for customer service: Our car gets towed Friday night, the first ever time we call to ask about where our car is, the lady is raising her voice at us. She says that we cannot get our car back until Monday morning at 8 am when their offices open, unless another car gets towed and someone goes back to the office, to which they said they would give us a call. We call again to ask about the pricing, as there's a sign posted in front of the spot we got towed at saying MAXIMUM 100$, this time a guy picks up, tells us to take the sign home to where we are from as a souvenir and tells us "Good luck trying to get someone to get your car back for you before Monday for 100$." Obviously they don't call and we are forced to go to their offices Monday morning with a cop by our side to advocate for their illegal practices. We ask for the signed authorization form from the property owner to prove that this was a legal tow. The lady at the desk disappears for at least 15 minutes, then comes back and mumbles something under her breath about not being able to "reach the driver" and says to us "you guys can just have your car back, it's not worth the money." This is the same as everready towing llc. Which is ironic because they are never open. Car got towed on Friday at 4 while my wife was at work. Called the place that was listed as 24 hour at 7 to get car they were already closed. We were told to make an appointment for Saturday. I called around 9pm to set an appointment for Saturday. Was told to call back at 8 am. I called back at 8 in the morning they said they would give me a call when someone was there no appointment nothing. I called back 2 hours later to see if maybe they forgot about us. I was told we will call you when we call you. At this point I am concerned at how mad they are getting for someone who was willing to pay asking about an appointment time. I let them know we had other things to do today and asked for a definite time to get the car. I was hung up on. After calling back multiple times and only getting a full voicemail I was worried maybe they were up to something nefarious, so I called the non emergency police number asking what to do because I never had a car towed before. They said if it is a 24 hour tow yard then there should be someone there to take my money and offered that I call them back if I get there and nothing happens. I showed up to the tow yard at about 12 yesterday (12/15/2023) there was a tow truck there but the office was locked. After not getting the office I call the non emergency number back to see what I should do. They say go up to the tow truck. I go to the tow truck to ask if I can get the car who then lectures me about being nicer to him which I ignored. He stated he couldn't check me out so I walked away and finished my conversation with the non emergency dispatcher. I walked back to the tow truck as I finished and asked when I could expect someone to let me get the car. He ignored the question and asked me who I was talking to. I answered and let him know it was the police. After saying he would wait for the police to come and tell me how stupid I am he closed the door to his tow truck. Then I decide to leave since he denied his keys would let me get the car and refused to tell me when someone would be there. I call back to see if they could tell me when I can pick up the car and the dispatcher on the phone proceeds to call me all kinds of names including "prick, stupid, retarded" then he confirms on the phone that he was able to get the car. So I guess he thinks his job is lecturing people and withholding their property. They mentioned there would be someone at 12:00 on Sunday (12/17/2023) and confirmed this with both me and my wife. We get there early because of other reviews that we have seen about 11:30am. A tow truck drives off as soon as we get there. I wait 30 minutes try to call them again get sent to full vm 5 times. Call from a different number finally get ahold of them. They say it will be 15 minutes before someone gets there. I wait another 30 minutes before a tow truck driver shows up who is able to send me a link to pay ( more than what is on the sign as maximum amount where the car was picked up) and open the gate. So the car was held for an additional day because the tow truck driver decided I wasn't good enough to have my car. Now because of the amount of time dealing with this in freezing rain both me and my wife is sick. We have lost wages because we couldn't risk going to work because there is no idea how the office hours work. And we really need 2 people to pick the car up. I have called maybe 3 different times and one person was suppose to call me back about the manager said and then the other lady didn't know nothing and then the man was talking in a low tone and completely cut me off. If you work in dispatch, you HAVE to know everything just in case a customer calls with a question. If I could leave negative stars I would. Not only do they refuse to show your proof of why your car gets towed. They refused to give the number of the company that "I have 4 unpaid tickets from" because thats classified, but they did give me the personal phone number of the parking attendant! oh and did I mention the DIDNT EVEN ASK FOR ID TO PICK UP THE CAR! My car was towed. My wife called to make sure our car was at this business. They stated it was. We showed up and no one answer the door. My wife called back to see where they were and they stayed they would be back within the hour. I called for clarification and asked, "I was just looking for an update on my Ford Focus" after which they immediately hung up on me and blocked both me and my wife. We waited for approximately an hour and a half after that time. They eventually showed up. I asked them why they blocked our phone numbers and they stated this was regular practice for any customer who called more than once and acted like I was wrong for looking for an update. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a company. All of it is a SCAM. They told us Best Western had called in to tow the car when we had already checked with the hotel and the hotel staff told us no such call was made. We even paid for our parking and this company towed it ANYWAYS. There was no enforcement in the parking lot from midnight to 6 am, but they towed our car at 1 am. We had to call the police to figure out where our car was. We had medication in the car for allergy attacks and they were still hesitant to give us our car. They told us they were an hour away but it took them 3 hours to get to the building!!! When the person got there, they were VERY rude and were not helpful. He even told us "we were lucky he even came in on a Sunday". Our parking was PAID for and they towed it unlawfully. This company is a sham. read more

Unlawful towing. Paid for parking till midnight, and parking on Sunday is free. Was towed at approximately 1 AM Sunday morning. Then customer service was horrible as it was nearly impossible to even get in touch with the criminals who stole my car. Finally was in touch and the person we worked with was 2 hours late. Got my car towed one night and called around 8, the guy answered and was very rude and short with me told me "I'm trying to eat dinner with my family right now, we open tomorrow at ten." And hung up on me. The website says 24 hours everyday, so I drove down to the tow service myself and called the number back. He hung up on me twice, I waited in the rain with the money for my car. so I called the police to file a report. The absolute worst fucking service I've ever received getting my car towed. First towing experience and it was a nightmare. The company was minutes away, on Bull St., from where I was stuck on E. Congress and Drayton, but somehow it took them 3.5hrs to arrive. Then, when the wrecker showed up he moved my car to a poorly lit section and left my friend and I waiting for another 20 minutes while he dropped his girlfriend--who he'd brought with him despite the ticket saying 2 people needed to ride along with the vehicle--off and "picked-up a towing vehicle capable of taking my car across town." He sped out of the parking area almost hitting two pedestrians on the way out, and when he took the next corner I heard the tires squealing from the inexcusable speed with which he took the corner. Once he came back--sans girlfriend--he almost hit another pedestrian, blamed the pedestrian for near miss, complained for almost 20 straight minutes about the job, the company, his boss, customers, and how much people loved him but hated who he worked for and nothing was his fault. He also made a point of blaming my insurance company saying part of what took so long was them trying to find a company that would accept my tow, which I know to be untrue because I receive texts from my insurance agency documenting to whom my tow was sent, and it was Crystal Wreaking who they called for me because they were physically the closest and could--in theory--make sure I didn't have to wait more than an hour for help. I contacted my insurance agency when I finally got home at 1am, and filed a complaint so my insurance company knows not to use this towing company again for any of its customers in the Savannah area. The owner will boldly lie to your face, quickly catch an attitude, and act like he's never in the wrong. If you're ever in a situation with this service, document everything with pictures and audio immediately upon initiating contact. This service violates so many rules of the industry; inflating the price to drop vehicles and requesting payment even before a vehicle has been "hooked up". Don't pay a penny if there's nothing attached to your vehicle. If he argues, call the police immediately. read more

I park my car in the lot at the intersection of Bay Street and MLK Blvd when I can't find a closer spot near JW Marriott and I always pay to park there. If the sign says public parking and there is a machine there why would they bother my car to begin with? There were other cars in that lot that didn't even HAVE parking tickets on their dashboard yet these guys took mine. After worrying and wondering where my car was, i called the police and found out they had it. So i called and called but no one answered. What kind of professionalism is that??? THEN I had to pay $175 to get MY car back. When I PAID to park there??? Really???? I came from out of town to visit family for the weekend, parked in the Lanier Parking lot, purchased my ticket and enjoyed my day downtown with family, get back ti the car and the tow truck pull up ready to tow my car because they claimed that i didn't pay but i had a ticket. They charged us $75 dollars enen tho i paid to park and had a ticket receipt. The guy was very rude with us. Asked him if he took debit cards he was rude, he told us to go to an ATM, proceed to an ATM come back then the guy says im sorry but i don't have change for a $20.00 he was very, very rude again, so now we have to go get change for a DAMN $20.00 bill. Left us waiting in a dark parking lot for 3 1/2 hours after they received our call! Didn't apologize, made a ton of excuses that were completely irrelevant. No call or text when he was late. Almost hit 3 pedestrians! Speeding, complaining about his job, road rage, etc. Expect them to leave you waiting if you're not paying cash or if the police want someone towed. I am not sure how these people stay in business. They are only open from 8am to 8pm and if you need a car towed after that time you are out of luck. I have had to deal with them for 7 years as my apartment will not get a new towing service. When they show up unless it is the older man, they are rude, and very slow.
