I go here for both my nails and toes. I go to whoever for my toes but there is one lady I really like I just forget her name. As for my nails- Sandy is amazing!! She is my girl. She listens to what you want and is super talented. I get plain nails usually but every time I wanted a design she does amazing. If you're looking for a nail place in the lakeside area, sandy at crystal nails is the way to go! Oh and I forgot to mention, my nails NEVER lift. Not once. And I go 4+ weeks sometimes. They don't break or lift!

So sad to be making this review but I think it's worth it to warn others. I came in on last Wednesday afternoon (it's now Sunday AM) for a gel pedi and mani. I've been here a small handful of times for regular pedicures and have had zero issues other than maybe a small nic when the tech was cutting away dead skin. Anyways, to cut a very long boring story short, my manicure lasted about 2 whole days before lifting on all nails. One of which completely lifted and I had to peel away. My pedicure was also probably the worst I've had, as I showed the tech a picture of a French tip with a very thin line; he asked numerous times if it looked okay and politely kept repeating myself as the line was extremely thick. I ultimately gave up because I repeated myself 6+ times to go thinner. I spent almost $100 on pretty straight forward services and left feeling very disappointed. I unfortunately will not be returning.

I love love love getting my nails done here! The ladies here are so kind and friendly always saying hi and giving compliments. And of course they're all (at least the ones who have done my nails) good at doing nails! I love how they can make acrylics so thin that they look like my real nails! And they're still strong and won't break! I really like coming here to get my nails done.

I am a guy and I had ingrown toenails in the past with surgery done to remove them. Ever since, I come here with my mom and sometimes by myself to get a pedicure done for the upkeep of my toenails. The service is always amazing and they know how to get it done! Tell them what you need. They know what they are doing and would recommend this place to anyone. Prices are decent and affordable. Massage chairs are great. It's a relaxing experience. Men, don't be embarrassed to get a pedicure done! Go with your wives, girlfriend, sisters, mom, etc. You won't regret it. It's healthy for your feet, improves blood flow and keeps it clean. Your health is vital and should be top priority!

This place never disappoints! Online booking makes it so easy to book with your favorite. But I will say ALL of them do an amazing job. So many options of colors, from dips to gels to acrylic powders. Love it! Very clean and well put together.

I asked for the French tip after previously having brown nails, you can clearly see she left plenty of the brown acrylic behind.

I've been going here for a year now and things usually went fine.. but this was pure negligence. Not to mention they cracked a day later. I go back to get the crack in my nail fixed and try to mention the fact that she didn't even get off all of my brown acrylic from the last set to the manager working the front and he puts his hand up in my face and says "she'll help you" before I could even finish. (I was being very polite). He was very disrespectful and they didn't offer to fix the full set. It shouldn't have happened. She knew what she was doing and I would've said something at the moment but I was "trusting the process" until it was done. And it took WAY too long for me to ask her to redo it that day. Over all, if you need a simple style you can trust them most of the time. I wish I got her name so I could warn you not to go to her specifically.

Ok so I've been coming here for years. I've never had a problem until now. The last 6 times...yes I said SIX...my nails have completely broken off for no reason at all?!!!! And within a week???? I'm guessing they switched to cheaper acrylic powder due to the place getting more popular. This is unacceptable. I even went in once and complained and they still made me PAY to fix the shit job they did 4 days before with their cheap acrylic. I won't be going here anymore. Time to find a new salon :( read more

Sooooo.....what had happened was, I got my nails done on Thursday my Friday one broke by Saturday former broke I came in on Sunday they honor their work and they fix them and I am a very happy customer I did have to come back but they fixed all of them and made things right without charging me which is honest and good customer service. read more

It was my first time at this salon. We were immediately greeted by a very nice young man at front desk. I showed him what I wanted and he sat me down with Sandy. I showed her the picture and she did my nails even better than the photo! Then I sat for my pedicure with Tiffany and she made me feel so relaxed! I love that they give you a complimentary drink with your pedicure. The staff was so friendly, everything was very clean. (FYI: thought this was cool) I've been wanting to take my husband for a pedicure for some time now and there were quite a few men in there getting pedicures and watching Sunday football. (Bonus for you men) Definitely bringing my husband next time! Thank you Sandy and Tiffany for the relaxing day! read more

Came in because of the reviews and recommendation. Not the best customer service. No one was at the front to help me. I was to ask who I think was the manager or owner that I had an appointment, while she was doing someone else's nails. Made an appointment for 2:30 was not seen for another 20-30. Pedi was great! Gel manicure was not the best. Nail polish was done very sloppy. I do not recommend because of how sloppy my gel mani was done. read more

I wanted my nails done for my birthday, this Monday. I arrived to this salon, obviously my first time, as I didn't know the check-in process. I waited for a very long time before being seated in the pedicure chair, where my feet sat, in cool water until my feet were pruning. I removed my feet from the water and nobody noticed. No staff said one word to me about this. I wanted a gel manicure and pedicure (expensive) and I really wanted to treat myself to a special day. The lack of concern and communication was highly unprofessional. If my business wasn't wanted, then I have no idea why I stayed so long. Upon leaving, a woman, (obviously) the owner wanted to offer, some sort of discount. At that point, I was so disappointed that I just, kept on walking out the door. I will never understand why this establishment is in business, if that's the way they treat new customers, with (hard-earned) money to spend. Sadly this will be my very first, terrible review of any business. Please think twice about visiting this nail salon. I only wish that I was warned, too. read more

I came here just because it's literally 2 minutes from my house . But their best nail tech moved they get super defensive when you ask where he went and make you seem like a bad guy. But I'm mostly irritated that they measured my one and ONLY uneven nail before filing telling me it's an extra $5 charge for length . All my other nails were 23mm . The rule is that if it surpasses 24mm it's extra ..... she made that call before filing my nails!! And one more time it was my one uneven nail that was 24mm ... the rest were freaking 23!! I made her measure all my nails after filing and they were ALL 23 mm but she would slide it every time so it looked like above 24 Honestly ridiculous I wouldn't have mind paying if it was truly longer but they are just finessing She still charged extra On top of nail drills aren't sterile, files are used on the same people all day gross! Also she cut me like 8 times I feel like if I wanted to pay extra for services it would be for clean sanitary items and not to be wounded I'm definitely going to call state board tomorrow morning I hope I don't contract fungus I apologize if this review is all over the place and not in order I'm just sitting in the car pissed off about my service read more

I've been a client for 15+ years and would never go anywhere else to get my nails/toes done. They treat you like family and go out of their way to make sure your happy. With the new restrictions in place they are going out of their way to make sure everyone is happy. I have been coming here for years and these girls and guys are amazing. They make us women feel good about ourselves and beautify us day in and day out and to hear that on the first day of opening after 3 months of being closed that women have been rude and mean to them really breaks my heart and makes me angry. They are doing their best to accommodate so many people that have waited for this moment. Tori was all over the place trying to keep it in order. They do a fantastic job and people really need to learn to be patient and understanding in these times. I have worked through this entire pandemic and have seen some of the rudest people. Everytime I come here I get thee best experience!!! They really know how to do nails the way I want!! Only downside sometimes it can be busy but they try their best to accommodate everyone!! I have thin nails so yesterday when I went to the salon they suggested me to do gel. The gel really never harden . So went back today I was told gel not good, so they applied powder. So it cost me $ 33 for the gel yesterday and today $36 for the powder . My nails are thick and in some spots they didn't cover the whole nail with the powder. Won't be returning there anytime soon. read more

Just finished a gel manicure and classic pedicure with Anne and Tony absolutely wonderful job, meticulously detail-oriented. The Warm Stone, with lotion, oh that was wonderful, and the Hand Massage lotion, that was just as wonderful. Ur greeted with a choice of several different beverages, to get started, nice touch, because after running errands all morning, that cold O.J., really hit the spot. Make sure you make this ur "Go To" nail salon, and ask for my "A"Team, cuz when I come back that's who I'll be seeing, for sure. It was my first time using their services, and I was impressed with their level of skill, needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I've always passed by and seen it crowded, now I know why. Tell your family, and friends, you will not be disappointed. read more

When I first started going there the service was great but as I have been going there for a couple of months now their quality has went down. They rush with customers trying to keep the chairs filled and the service is not as impressive as it once was. I recently got my nails done about a week ago and they are already starting to lift. I will not be bringing my hard earned money back. Word of advise take your time when working on a customer and attention to detail is key. read more

Second, I have really sensitive skin and explained how soft wax has affected my underarms (which was an at home treatment) and she made sure to use hard wax. She was knowledgeable, and she has attention to detail and made sure to do a good job. I 100% recommend booking with Hannah. I got underarms and 1/2 leg for reference and it was abound 80$ (without tip) which is also pretty good for pricing for a service like this!

Lina had a great solution and did an amazing job matching it with an acrylic extension--you can't even tell in the photo. That said, if you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend asking for Gel-X instead of acrylic. The acrylic ended up feeling loose and didn't hold well, so I had to come back before leaving for a trip. To their credit, Sunny Nails squeezed me in the very next day. Another technician quickly assessed the issue, removed the acrylic, and replaced it with Gel-X (a full, strong nail--not just a tip). The result was flawless--she shaped it beautifully, and I was able to enjoy my trip with perfect nails. The only downside was the experience during the fix. The technician seemed frustrated, didn't respond to my thank you, and abruptly turned off the blue light and walked away without acknowledgment. It felt a bit uncomfortable--especially since I had already paid extra for the initial service and had to come back. Overall, they made it right, and I appreciate the quality of the final result--just wish the customer experience during the correction matched it.

Tiny shop ran by a husband and wife team. They seem to have a faithful clientele, easily talking to all their customers by name and noting that they will see the again soon. It's not fancy at all so if you have lower expectations of a salon experience, this is perfect. I like to get fancy pedicures once in a while but can't afford it with the $60-90 price range and options. For something low key, just to get your nails done simply with no fuss or fanciness, this was perfect. They did an efficient and clean job, and my regular pedi was only $35 with $5 extra for a salt scrub. Since it's just the two of them, the place is tiny with only three pedicure/massage chairs and two manicure stations. They're happy to take walk-ins as I don't think they get too busy.. but there were two customers before us and two after, so we just happened to come at the perfect time for just the two of them to handle everyone with little wait. I'm sure it helps to call for an appointment though. Their polish selection is limited. Again, if you adjust your expectations, this is a great salon. For non-fancy people, my daughter and I were happy and will be back. My wallet is especially happy!

I'm very disappointed because the first time I came here it was ok but in my experience today I went to have a day with my daughter we were so excited to get our nails done and the minute I walked in there I felt rushed I felt like I couldn't decide on the color I wanted because they were out of almost every color!!! I wanted so I was trying to find the one I could like the best and during that time they were just being very rude speaking in their language like I was dumb because I couldn't decide I got a pedicure and a full set and the whole time I was being rushed during my pedicure at the same time they start doing my nails I couldn't relax it was just very uncomfortable the way they were talking in their language the whole time and the tech I believe was Kim burned me with the machine that used to file your nails down like 4 times!!very painful just so you know !which really hurt alot I just don't understand what's the issue of customer service!!?! I went to have a good experience with my daughter but I wanted to run out of the nail chair!! because of their attitudes and the way they made me feel( I even said it out loud why does everybody in here have such a rude attitude and they ignored me ?)and my daughter was very uncomfortable they continue to tell her to stop to get out of the way she was excited to show me her nails !!!! she 6 years old that they did and they just seem angry I had to continue to tell my daughter to sit down because they were so upset if she got close to me to express how happy she was!!! I have tried many of the different nail techs at Crystal nails. I can recommend Sandy and Tina ONLY. Do not go to John he is very rude. I had to go back two times because the nails kept popping off, I had been going to Crystal nails for over a year and had never had this problem. I honestly felt that I should not be charged for poor old products. which at the time was less then a week old. I went in there to go back to the tech that did my nails but she was not there. John said there would be no charge so I did leave him a good size tip. Two weeks later I was ready for a fill so I went back and again had John do my nails and was lectured about how I have to pay for my nails this time (which I was planning on doing) and he was just downright rude saying it was not his fault the first set popped off, he was looking to argue with me which really shocked me. I told him he was the one that said he would redo them, I did not ask him to do them. . I was so upset that I just paid for the nails no tip included and left. The following week I discussed the issue with managment but I am sure my comments do not mean anything to any of them. I had stopped having my pedicure there after noticing that they do not properly clean there foot bowls. I had developed a fungus after my last visit there and am currently under a doctors care for it. Do not bother to make an appointment as they are never considerate of your schedule. read more

Lee is beyond the best!! I had been getting my nails done by the same person for about 10 years and then she quit doing nails to sell real estate. I know this might sound dramatic...but I was devastated!! She was so good and I spent the next year bouncing from nail tech to nail tech trying to find someone I at least liked. After another terrible experience, I complained to my neighbor and she told me to try her girl. That's when I found Lee. She is young so she keeps up with the trends, super cute, so I love that I can count on suggestions from her, and she is AMAZING at what she does! Since I've been with her I have had short square nails, stiletto nails, and I am currently wearing coffin shaped nails! She can do anything!! And I've loved everything she's done. She even introduced me to chrome nails but made sure they were tamed down a bit for me. Do yourself a big favor and request Lee the next time you get your nails done. You will be so happy you did!!! I cannot say enough about this salon. Ive been coming for years and we are always greeted with a friendly hello. Today, after months of growing my eyesbrows out duento sheltering in place, i went in. My heart broke as the technician i was with kept apologizing to me about the inconveniences due to the restrictions and new peocedures in place. They shouldnt have to apologize for keeping us safe and themselves. This is a new way of life we are in right now and if that means more wait time, schedule appts, face masks and price changes then im all for it and appluad Crystals nails for their dedication to this community. Not only have they opened up when some have chosen not too, they provided us with hand made masks and support to Lakeside as a whole during the hardship of closing their doors. This is a great place to get your nails and pedicure done all at the same time. I came here the first time for my nails and it was gorgeous. I don't know what kind of Gel coat they put on but it last forever and keep my nail fresh until I came back for a fill. @ Fill: I can change any color any shape that I want and they have at least 200 colors for you to choose from. @pedicure: amazing spa chair with roller massage, very clean and sanitized especially tools that can not sanitize they will give it back to you at the end of the service. I loved the pumice stone! The foot massage was so good. Other than that there's a service called Sparkle toe... it's incredible!!! Again I don't know what kind of Gel that they used but it make your toe nails shiny and twinkle. This last me at least 2 months. read more

This is the BEST thing that has happened to San Diego!! Ladies, we all know there are tons of nail salons that would like to earn out business. Please know that this salon is where you want to be. Sandy is the person you definitely want to go to!! They are ALL wonderful. They are attentive to your needs, provide phenomenal customer service and you are always happy when you leave there, not to mention how much fun it is to visit the salon. I came in with my Mom, daughter, and niece. I figured without and appointment and 4 people, I wouldn't get in, but they have so much staff we barely waited. I had Natalie do my spa pedi and Lynn did a dip powder mani. They are both perfect and the ladies are kind. My mom uses Sandy and swears by her work and great personality. The girls had Tracey and she's always so patient and fun with them. Mix that with a very clean environment and I'll definitely come back over and over. One thing to note is that they should probably offer drinks. A water would be nice. But overall, excellent experience. read more

I would not recommend this place. The lady that did my nails was extremely aggressive and rushed the entire process. She made me bleed in several places and kept running the dremmel over my skin to the point that my skin is raw on multiple fingers. She was pulling and tugging on my hands and would throw my hand aside when she would move on to the next one. One of the tips broke off less then 30 minutes after leaving the salon and they were closed by then and I have a 4am plane to catch so I can't even get it fixed. I get a lot of good referrals from my co workers in the health and beauty category. Going to Crystals was a great experience. i came in for a spa pedicure and OMG.. it was worth it! All my little twinkle toes TWINKLED! My foot massage was best! the guy who performed my pedicure was awesome. I got the sparkle gel on my toes and i LOVE it! If customer service doesn't matter to you, then I'd recommend this salon. Sandy, Tina, Jason, and Lee always did a great job on my nails! I advise steering clear of Kim for nails--I always felt rushed and my nails were never done how I wanted.
