This place is great. I don't ever feel rushed. It gets busy but I never leave with bleeding cuticles or cuts because the nail techs take their time. And they do a great job. I love designs and they don't disappoint. Great vibes! read more

I called ahead to ask if they had dip powder and was told they did so I went ahead and made an appt. Once I was settled in my chair, and was asked to pick my color, I was then told they only have clear dip powder and they go over it with gel. Gel chips faster on me so I was not happy about being mislead but since I was already there and they were already working on my pedicure, I decided to just go with it. The ladies working on my hands and feet were both super sweet and I thought they did a great job polishing and shaping. However, a few days after, my "dip" manicure started chipping and looked terrible within a week. If you like to get dip manicures then I would skip this place, however if you get anything else then this place does a pretty good job and prices are fair! read more

I love my nail tech ELAINE! She is so amazing, and I have been going to here for the past couple of months. She does my nails exactly how I want them every time and as you can see looking at the photos she does them well! I am always so happy and satisfied leaving the salon with my desired nail style. You can't go wrong with anyone in this salon. The prices are fair, and the quality is amazing. My nails last up to 6 weeks and probably longer if I let it. I always go and get the dip gel manicure with a pedicure. Huge shoutout to Kate, Ana, and Elaine for helping my nail dreams come true! Finally started to feel like Spring San Diego after all those winter storms. I wanted to get something Spring-y but Elegance at the same time. Kate wasn't in yesterday so Elaine squeezed me in her busy schedule very last mins. Both of us didnt have much time but Elaine was able to turn my imaginary nails into live. She is very friendly and honest. My first acrylic set and oh boy! Im over the Moon. I kept staring at them to the point my husband started to question my sanity . Highly recommend this place. I was looking for a new place to get my nails done and someone recommended this salon. The salon is clean and the staff are all nice. I received a gel manicure and a pedicure with regular polish for a total of $63 which is less than I normally pay in other places. The quality of the work and the attention to detail are great! Came here for the first time. I didn't make an appointment but they were able to seat me right away for a mani/pedi. I just took off gel, so I only got polish. The lady that did my nails did a really good job, especially the pedi. My only complaint was the top coat of polish on my nails does not cover the entire nail, so they will probably chip a bit faster than normal. Unfortunately, I noticed after I left or I would have asked her to redo it. read more

Elaine did my nails this time. She was very quiet, but she did a great job. The salon is clean and has lovely music playing. Last time I had Lisa and another girl that I didn't get her name, they were great too. Being that it was very hot outside, the salon was was cool and refreshing. They offered me cold water, which was wonderful. They do charge 75 cents extra for using a credit card, so next time I will go to the bank on corner and get cash. I came here for the first time today and was pretty upset with my acrylic gel nails done by Kevin, however very happy with the pedicure with Kate hence the mid-rating at a 3. Kevin rushed through my acrylic gel nails. They were done in 20 minutes which is fairly quick for a full set in gel. You can imagine it'd be hard to do a good, or even decent, job in 20 minutes. He ensured to ask if everything looked good but there was really no going back at this point. Needless to explain further, there is a fat glob of acrylic and gel on my pinky finger that's so uneven compared to the other nails (which are all uneven just not nearly as noticeable). :(. I think he knew his job was mediocre as he mentioned the nails came out the way they did because of my natural nail shape, yet when I've gotten them done elsewhere this has never been a problem. Just wish he spent more time paying attention here. On a better note, Kate was awesome. This might have been one of the best pedicures I've gotten. Unfortunately I likely won't return as I was very unhappy with my nails. read more

I just wanted to say that every time I come here I have never been disappointed. I've been coming since high school days (almost 10 years) off and on, and have been satisfied every time I've left here. The atmosphere is wonderful and all the nail techs are so nice! I wanted to say that Lisa is truly amazing. I called at 615pm last night, needing a fill desperately, not realizing they closed at 7pm. I wasn't able to get there until right at 7, but she told me she would take me. I ended up asking about a quick Pedicure too and she said no problem. She stayed well after 7pm to make sure I got what I needed and I truly appreciated that! Talk about customer service! I will recommend this place a thousand times over. This is the only place I will get my nails done! I work and live in downtown but I grew up in Santee and Jennifer and kelvin have been taking care of my nails for 3 years. EVERYTIME without a doubt people tell me "you're nails look so nice" and ask me where I get them done Cleanliness is huge for me this salon is very clean and they always use brand new sterile equipment. It's not just about the way my nails look and how the salon looks but about the way I feel when I come here. I always leave relaxed and happy. read more

First and last time coming here. I wanted green with Crome over it. They had no idea what they were doing because it was not working. Their process of a mani was taking forever. When I need a manicure or pedicure, this is the spot for me! I love how the shop looks and how convenient it is to local Santee area where I live. Also I can make appointments ahead of time and they are always honored without me having to wait in line for my turn. I normally get the gel acrylic nails with a design which normally would be over $40 but since hey had four square where they give you deals they your phone I get $5 off my designs or get a free French tip! These come in handy when I'm on a budget. I definitely recommend them if you are a nail fanatic like I am! read more

" Super Comfortable Pedicure & Manicure " Today I was looking for another place to get a pedicure and manicure. I went to La Vie Nails & Spa in Santee and had a very nice experience. Mai started with me as she sat me in the massage chair, put my feet in the water and did my manicure. Mai was very nice as she very carefully did my manicure. While Mai was doing my manicure, Tracy started doing my pedicure. I have never had both procedures done at the same time by two different people. Tracy was very careful as I told her I have very sensitive feet, and she did a great job very carefully clipping out my in grown toe nails. Tracey also did a nice massage of my dry legs with some lotion which was very relaxing. And while I was sitting in the massage chair enjoying the manicure, pedicure, and massage, Kelvin the manager came by and offered me a cocktail, wine, or champagne drink. Wow ! that was awesome ! I felt no pain during the entire procedure, and finished with a very nice looking manicure and pedicure. I will be coming back to La Vie Nails & Spa for a repeat of this good experience. read more

Overall I love this place. This is a piece of advice if you come. Don't let the guy do your nails and especially your pedicure. Pretty sure he took a lunch while my callus / mud mask "soaked" thinking maybe he just did things different I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. He came back did the 10 minute text book massage and put my feet in parrafin wax and SWEPT THE FLOOR while again "they soaked". This is my place - I will be back. But I will walk out if he is sent to do any of my services. If you hate massage and don't want a relaxing pedicure. He's your guy. read more

I seldom leave reviews, especially bad ones, but for ladies that care about the health and strength of their real nails beneath the gel polish, steer clear. I get gel manicures every two weeks and decided to try a new place due to convenience. I was originally impressed by the prompt service and relaxing atmosphere of this salon. Kelvin was doing my nails and I requested a gel manicure with a design. He didn't have the exact design I was looking for, but offered alternate nail studs that I was happy with. Although those fell off less than an hour after I left the salon, he was happy to take the remaining ones off and finish my nails with another layer of clear gel, as well as refund my money for the design the same day. When he started removing my old gel manicure, he used the drill (or electric file) to remove the top layer. This was normal, but after soaking my nails in acetone, he still used this tool to remove remaining gel from my bare nail. This was uncomfortable almost to the point of pain, and I expressed my concern about my nails becoming too thin. He told me not to worry. Fast forward a week later, and of course my nails started to break one by one. When I removed the gel using a regular file and nail polish remover, my nails underneath were grotesquely thin, pliable, and both splitting and breaking. I haven't seen this kind of damage since I stopped getting acrylic nails a year ago. I called the salon and let Kelvin know that I would be leaving a bad review, and he asked me to come by. When I did, he berated me by saying my nails looked like this because of acrylics, which I already mentioned I haven't had in a year. He also told me he doesn't use the drill tool for gel manicures, which he definitely used when he did my nails. His original solution for me: Keep getting gel manicures. I told him I would, but elsewhere. Then when I was leaving, he told me to give my nails a break from manicures. I was tired of arguing in front of the entire salon, so I left and let him know I would be leaving a review. This is when he told me he would have his legal team contact me if I left a "wrong" review. Absolutely ridiculous! Feel free to have your lawyers contact me, just don't destroy any more nails like you did mine. read more

Lina had a great solution and did an amazing job matching it with an acrylic extension--you can't even tell in the photo. That said, if you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend asking for Gel-X instead of acrylic. The acrylic ended up feeling loose and didn't hold well, so I had to come back before leaving for a trip. To their credit, Sunny Nails squeezed me in the very next day. Another technician quickly assessed the issue, removed the acrylic, and replaced it with Gel-X (a full, strong nail--not just a tip). The result was flawless--she shaped it beautifully, and I was able to enjoy my trip with perfect nails. The only downside was the experience during the fix. The technician seemed frustrated, didn't respond to my thank you, and abruptly turned off the blue light and walked away without acknowledgment. It felt a bit uncomfortable--especially since I had already paid extra for the initial service and had to come back. Overall, they made it right, and I appreciate the quality of the final result--just wish the customer experience during the correction matched it.

I'm including a picture, and mind you that's after cleaning up all the blood. And it's only my left hand, my right one is worse!!! Do not get your nails done by Linh, she's awful, rude, disrespectful and just not good at her job at all!!!!!!!! NEVER had I more worse experience in a nail salon my whole life, and I'm almost 40! P.S. she also had extremely dirty gloves on (stained yellow that they started turning dirty brown), that also were ripped on some of her fingers! I recently had my nails done by Kate at this nail salon, and it was fantastic! Kate did an incredible job, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The salon had a friendly and clean atmosphere, and the staff made me feel welcome right away. Kate was not only skilled but also took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. She paid attention to every detail and gave me the most beautiful nails I've ever had. They also have free food and drinks and are very up to date on nail trends. I asked for timeless, almond shaped Pearl nails for my graduation shoot. Kate was not only talented but also friendly and easy to talk to. She made the whole experience enjoyable and comfortable. My most favorite spot to get my nails done. They are very professional and prices are very competitive. Jennifer has been doing my eyelashes for over a year now, I love my eyelash extensions. I receive so many compliments on them! Jennifer is amazing and very gentle while applying each new lash. Love these eyelash extensions, I can leave the house with no makeup and still I get compliments on my eyes. Also Yen and Mia do my pedicures and fills, they are excellent, gentle and quick. Me and my husband absolutely love this place. It is very clean and very professional. The prices are very affordable and we enjoy going there on our trip to Costco in Santee. It is conveniently located nice parking lot great and a great staff. I especially love how clean this places. There are some nail salons out there and they're really dirty, but this place is immaculate. Great job to the staff and management. We will see you in 2-3 weeks. read more

They are very kind, and when they dont understand what I want, someone else there kindly translate for me. First visit to La Vie Nails & Spa in Santee. Worst service ever. Three days after Kelvin did my nails- fill and gel coat - two of my nails chipped. I went back but Kelvin did not offer to re-do them. They're happy to take walk-ins as I don't think they get too busy.. but there were two customers before us and two after, so we just happened to come at the perfect time for just the two of them to handle everyone with little wait. I'm sure it helps to call for an appointment though. Their polish selection is limited. Again, if you adjust your expectations, this is a great salon.
