I have been a consistent donor and am concerned that this deferral is the result of an equipment or staff error rather than a medical necessity. Incident Details: On April 12, I was seated for my donation. The phlebotomist on duty (who was not wearing a name badge, though my records will show who was assigned to my bed) performed the stick. However, only five minutes into the process, she disconnected me. When I questioned why the process ended so quickly--as my donations typically take 50 minutes--the technician stated, "It was the machine." I specifically asked if this would result in a deferral, and she assured me it would not because she was able to successfully return my red blood cells. The Dispute: I returned to donate two days later and found I could not sign in. After waiting for a manager who was reportedly checking work instructions, I was told via a security guard that I am now deferred until June. I would like a formal explanation and a review of my file based on the following points: 1 Red Blood Cell Return: CSL policy generally dictates that if red blood cells are returned, a long-term deferral is not required. If my cells were returned as stated by the technician, why has a 60-day+ deferral been issued? 2 Safety Protocols: Unlike previous experiences where a "no-return" occurs, I was not monitored for the standard 10-15 minutes, nor was I provided with an electrolyte drink, further supporting the technician's claim that the return was successful. 3 Equipment Setup: I noticed blood in the plasma line and suspect the machine may not have been spiked or primed correctly. 4 Recurring Issue: A similar incident occurred in October where an employee admitted fault for a machine setup error. I am concerned that I am being penalized for a repeated technical error by staff. I value the opportunity to donate, but I find it unacceptable to be deferred for three months due to an employee or equipment mistake. I am requesting that a manager review the logs for my April 12 donation, identify the technician involved, and contact me to discuss the removal of this deferral. I received the rudest service I have ever experienced at a plasma center. The staff is truly unprofessional, they talk to you as if you are beneath & have do not have an ounce of customer service skills. Specifically, staff Jasmine. I will never go to this location again & I suggest no one does. BioLife plasma is a much better option. If I could have given this establishment 0 stars I would have. read more

I was bruised twice at this location but it will never compare to their new employees (currently in training) attitude, she needs to be fired for her attitude and disrespect towards other patients/customer!!! She's lucky I wasn't able to get her name, but we will never return to this location due to that experience! My husband and I have been coming to this location for almost a year now and when this inexperienced girl came in, she messed it up for us!!! I just really needed to share a TRULY WONDERFUL experience I had walking into the CSL Facility in Hazel crest, IL ...I am NOT new to donating plasma but I decided to go thru another plasma center. From the I stepped into their facility standing in line as a new donor to the time I left trying to validate my pay card these people EXCELLED I. Customer service and support. Starting at intake ( Randi & Ashley) to the verifier ( a young man name Valontae' ) and the most caring professional nurse (Shanika) and if that wasn't good enough I had the most pleasant phlebotomist (Kiara) they ALL ..I AM SAYING THEY ALL greeted me with such welcoming that their hub need to go to other plasma sites to show those sites how to treat a human being that is trying to help other human beings. I will not be referring anyone to this facility. The reception area was ok, no type of courtesy towards patients or new donors. Do not expect a warm welcome experience at this location. When they sent me to the back area, they had a student checking veins, This young lady was clueless to which vein she was looking for. I made sure to seek another nurse to double check. This student put the tourniquet too tight. This was all I needed to see, I informed the staff that due to this un professionalism I will not go forward with my donation process. Be forewarned! I tried calling CSL Plasma in Hazel Crest and honestly spent over 10 minutes waiting for them to pickup the phone, and when they did I was given a rude attitude. I'm a physician in South Suburban Chicago and was just calling for their fax number to send them documentation THEY requested. For them to take 10 minutes just to answer the phone is ridiculous. They NEVER answer the phone. When you go there the employees upfront are what cause the delay! They are soooooo LAZY. They sit up there complaining about clients and talking about their plans for the day instead of working. They literally argue over who should take the next person in line. I was in an office in the middle of getting processed and the girl said she had to do something. Stopped and left the office, meanwhile I'm left sitting there! I had to go back upfront and tell them to send someone else. Unprofessional! The actual plasma donation was not bad. Those people actually work. They were fast, and pleasant. I am very disappointed in this location. The big girl Marla is very rude! She turned me around from being a new donor! The other lady with the braces who is very tall was rude as hell, also Osie oh let me not forget she was constantly cursing in front of the other donors at the work place! I don't understand why these employees do people like this! I clearly had to come there for a reason and that was to provide for my family. One employee was too busy laughing to notice there was somebody in line. When the donor let her know they were waiting the employee was rude. When the donor addressed the rude behavior the employee told the donor they are going to wait longer. A complaint was filed. When the employee was being talked to by management the employee was laughing. The next time the donor donated they were retaliated against. They were given the run around before being allowed to donate. When they were finishing donating the donor was sprayed in the face with a liquid, while the donor was trying to apply pressure to the needle that was just taken out. When the donor wiped his face, blood spurted out of his arm. The employee who sprayed the donor in the face said she wouldn't bandage him. When he got bandaged by another employee the donor filed another complaint. Then the manager blocked the donors path when he was trying to leave. After leaving the building the donor stood in front of the facility with blood on his shirt & pants warning other potential donors of how they may be treated. read more
