I arrived here two hours before they open and yet there was staff there working. They graciously came to the door and helped me correct my error. Not to mention, the majority of their workers are Phlebotomists and LPNs, which is a far cry from CSL, which employs new workers all time because of turnover, who all too often butcher arms so often they run out of ice packs. I got not one, BUT THREE, hematomas in a row at CSL. They moved around the needle so much it punctured a vein. My entire arm was blue, and right before my wedding. KED is my go-to place now. The are pleasant and professional, and all the ladies and gentlemen starting lines are so careful. The longest I've waited in the past two weeks for vitals was 15 mins. I am now on my 5th donation.

This center may be difficult to find because the address shows up as Arby's in Maps. It's actually right next to the Play It Again Sports to the left of Publix in the shopping center by the Lake Square Mall. Usually my iron is too low to donate blood, so I stopped trying for several years. Recently I started taking a really good iron supplement and decided to give it a shot with The Big Red Bus. My whole blood donation went perfectly, so I thought "why not try platelets" while I wait for my next whole blood donation. Keep in mind that it's a double-stick and you'll be sitting for two to three hours, unable to move, which is really taxing for people with restless body issues or ADHD. You'll probably feel extremely cold, but they have heating pads and blankets. You can also watch whatever you'd like on a personal TV with headphones (to oneblood: please get the extended versions of LotR lol).
