The staff are very friendly and have a good attitude. I've been going here over a year and I have not had a bruise in the last year because of the way they take care when inserting and removing the needle. I did get some bruises my first couple of months. I asked what I could do and they told me to leave the bandage on for two hours and not lift anything with that arm. I've followed those instructions ever since and no bruising for over a year now!! I love the staff and the atmosphere here. I've gone to a couple other donation centers here in Tucson and one in Colorado. I choose this fourth Street location over anywhere. If I could give no stars that's what they would get. I have been donating at CSL Plasma off and on for about 6 years. In that time I have had a few good experiences and many more bad ones ranging from bad sticks that left me too bruised to donate again to being cheated out of my referral bonus after referring a friend. All of these situations left me feeling insulted and untrusting of CSL Plasma's business practices but my experience earlier today was so insulting that I will never give that company my business again on principal. CSL Plasma's donor pay schedule runs from Sunday to Saturday. On your second donation of the week they pay considerably more for the same amount of Plasma as an incentive to donate more often. As most Americans are feeling right now and especially since it's the holiday season, funds are tight so I was really looking forward to my second donation to make ends meet. I went through the entire donor process which went smoothly but slowly as usual due to slow lines. At the end the phlebotomist unhooked me, patched the puncture site and then told me that the payout was less than my fist donation. I thought I heard him wrong at first so I asked him to confirm and then objected, explaining that this was my second donation for the week. He told me that they changed their policy and that now I would be getting $20 dollars less for my donation. I asked the phlebotomist when this happened being as I was just there 2 days prior and heard nothing of it. He said they changed it that day, Saturday, the last day of the week...the last day for people to make their second donation. They didn't post it. They didn't send an email. At no time prior to the donation did anyone mention it for me to have a chance to object. They just took my plasma under conditions I agreed to and then changed the conditions and it wasnt just me. They did this to every donor returning today to make their second and more lucrative donation. They did it during the holiday season and they didn't disclose the change to anyone prior to their donation. What CSL Plasma did today to thousands of donors is low and insulting. While I understand and respect CSL's ability to change their policies, they did it without consent to the donors prior to doing it. There was no notice posted. There was no agreement during the check in process that the policy had changed (even though there was one saying that I may not get sailine to replace the fluids they take due to a shortage ). There was absolutely no mention at all that they were going to pay me less for my plasma than what was previously agreed upon. They provided me with no ability to object to their policy change at any point. They have the abilty to do so and chose not to. They did it on the last day of the week for people to make their donations knowing theybwould be coming in for their second donation because it was the last day. They couldnt even wait for a fresh week to start. Instead, they cheated everyone coming in for their second donation out of it and just took the plasma anyways at a lower price to the donor because what are they going to do, ask for it back? ....seriously, no itegirty, none, ish. I will never go back to CSL Plasma. I have suspected for a long time that their business practices are less than desirable but what I witnessed today was appalling. It's it's insulting to my core values and judging by the reactions of the other donors, Im not the only one. If CSL Plasma had any values at all they wouldn't stoop so low as to cheat thousands of donors out of approximately $20 dollars on their last day to get it and would allow donors the ability to know about policy changes that effect what they are paid for their donation prior to donating, instead of robbing them. CSL Plasma Center on 4th st. in Tucson is great! I donated there a few times and never had I have any bruises or side effects during the donation, which actually happened to me at the BioLife Plasma every time I donated plasma. at BioLife they messed up my vein causing bruising around my elbow which prevented me from donating for 2 -3 weeks and I lost my bonuses. In addition, I always got very uncomfortable and could never donate a full amount because the staff needed to resuscitate me - almost! All I can say that CSL Plasma staff is really professional for I never got any bruises, in fact, the next day after the donation I barely could see the spot on my arm which tells me that the staff people are real phlebotomists unlike at BioLife center. read more

I went to CSL Plasma today at 2ish and got out at 8ish pm without donating plasma. They said I could not donate plasma because I had a neurological problem. So if you have a neurological problem, you probably won't be able to donate plasma and you are wasting your time waiting there. Plus. I think they should compensate people who wait a long time to donate and do not end up donating, just an idea. read more

I've been donating for 8 months at the CSL Plasma Center at Tucson's Ina and Thornydale location with a numerous 24-hour deferrals for a heart rate above 100bpm. My normal resting heart rate is in the mid 70's, however it seems I've contracted "white-coat anxiety," as described by staff. Basically, the anxiety they have created. I take no medication on a regular basis, and I do not consume caffeine on donation mornings. The anxiety of trying to make ends meet exacerbated by the absolute fear of being deferred is excruciatingly difficult to deal with. I will say: most of the staff is courteous, professional and caring, but the "management" only seems to care about the bottom line and is training their new hires to run people through like cattle. So, when you step into the vitals collections booth you will be lanced for blood, told to step on scale, have temperature taken, complete an arm check, blood pressure taken and heart rate reading taken all in about 90 seconds, which is not enough time for me to return to a resting heart rate. Some of the staff would kindly allow me about 30 seconds to relax before starting the monitor, yet some don't, and I predictably fail. To curb my anxiety and preserve my eligibility, I purchased and use a fingertip pulse oximeter to help assure me before proceeding to vitals screening, however an "auditing official" deferred me for a medical conference. The medical professional on duty seemed confused and had no objection to me using it but warned that management might. Really? A fingertip pulse oximeter does not alter or deter their machines in any way as confirmed by my doctor. Additionally, average wait time for vitals is 20 minutes and donation wait times average 1.5 hours! Terribly understaffed in donation room with 4 bays with 14 of the newest donation machines, but with only 1 or 2 bays open creates long lines of waiting donors. If you decide to donate here, I suggest checking the donation line to see if it's worth the wait before proceeding to vitals screening. For the most part, the staff is okay, but the management and company policies lacking meaningful process improvements lending to questions of quality assurance. read more

I have been going to CSL for 2 1/2 years with no issues the staff has been pleasant up until today. Myself along with 4 others were disrespected and belittled by manager Jiovana/Giovana at the Downtown 4th Ave location. Long story short we all arrive 1 hr before opening (every week twice a week) due to work and kids we talk we socialize no ones yelling no ones fighting or being disrespectful however we were told only 2 out of the 5 people were allowed to donate because she felt some type of way and acted in a completely unprofessional manner from shushing us to pointing her fingers at us!! One of the ladies has hearing problems she stated that to the head manager and her response was "Now your just making excuse" and told us all of you don't like it you can go to another location 2 of the 4 including myself have been permanently deferred with no justifiable reason! Discrimination should NEVER be ok in any place. CSL lost business and not just that but plasma is essential to some people's health she had NO RIGHT! I walked in today (10/3/2024) to donate and the kiosk informed me that I had to see a team member. I was called into a screening booth and I informed the attending staff of the error message. He went to go see why I was unable to check in. He came back shortly after to inform me that I had been deferred for 1 week because I was supposedly warned about falling asleep somehow even though I donated on Tuesday, it was put in the system on a Wednesday. So I'm accused of doing something I didn't do on a day that I wasn't there. I asked if someone could take a look at the accusation. Maybe review it. Nope. Apparently everyone's word is taken as law there. Management signed off and the judgment stands. I told the staff member that it's like I was arrested but I was not being told the reason why. I was pretty upset but I didn't cause a scene unlike some of the regulars there who are still allowed to show up despite their behavior. I wasn't upset at the attending staff member but at the lack of oversight in this matter. Apparently everything is pretty cut and dry and you can't even plead your case. I've been going to this center since 2016 and I've very friendly and cordial with the staff knowing that they have their handful with some people who show up in there. This is probably the worst treatment I've received there in all this time. I cannot with a clear conscience give this place another over a 1 star review. If 0 stars was an option, I'd be giving it. I'm going to look elsewhere to donate. Apparently loyalty means nothing if you can get deferred for something that didn't occur on a day that you weren't even there. read more

I go back to the counter they take my finger poke check my blood pressure then they tell me I need to go back to medical. I went Monday morning to donate plasma it was my worst experience ever torched the end my machine was beeping so Samantha kept helping me so I can finish my donation so here come the other girl and ask her what's his I all done but a little slow so she starts pushing botton because she though I had high pressure so my hole bottle got full of blood and samantha told her not to touch and she still Sid so I got referral for 56 days because of her screw up .I'm so upset of what happen not Evan my fault and I get referral for her mistakes.thanks a lot with Christmas coming up .I will not donate there again. read more

This is by far the worst review I have ever gave a business. I got deferred simply because my doctors have not been able to diagnose my foot pain. They say if you can get to the donation bed without trouble that you can donate. What they were really pissed off about was the fact that I had donated at another center. I did not break any rules. First time donating at this location and it was a mess. First I went In and provided my social/Id/ and proof of residency. Everything was fine aside from the 3 other people trying to argue all around me as I'm waiting in line and the security is nowhere to be found as the techs are looking for him. They passed me through almost the entire process, and then i went Into one of the booths where they checked my iron and vitals and everything, so then they pass me to medical cause I didn't pass my "arm check", keep this in mind i have eczema and sensitive skin so I get little bumps where things rub too much on my skin like tight bras or purses . I had also gotten blood work for a PREGNANCY test and he really looked like he did not believe me since they normally only do urine. I had already explained to him my issues with the urine test and how I had gone to get a better exam for my pelvic pain. He made me bring up MyChart from tmc AND el rio to prove to him all my check ups were fine he looked at EVERYTHING in my visit reports and I felt very exposed. Well they insisted that i couldn't donate because it looked like an allergic reaction and that I should come back when it clears up although I've had this my entire life. Anyways the "doctor" says i can only use one arm, and i was like okay that's fine, well when I was at booth one I told her my WHOLE name right ? Well apparently the last girl that had my info didn't put in one of my last names which I didn't think was an issue since they had my social ? In the system ? Well they take me back to the booth and she asked me for my W-2's because now my social isn't coming up or verifying? then how did it go through the first time? Well I didn't have it with me and i had been there now since 2 and it was 5:30. Lol they tried to say it had something to do with my credit since their system runs off credit (if you had no credit whey wouldn't be able to find you and if you had too much on it they couldn't find you either) like what dude ? My credit is good enough for them to be able to connect me to my social and my past leases' with apartments. They closed at 7 and i was riding the bus. I left without donating, lost daytime trying to figure all that out and practically left crying cause of how they made me feel that whole experience. There are literal people there off drugs and clearly not in the best shape but they made it a big deal for me ? I was highly disappointed with the whole thing. No one is social distancing and it's filthy In there, there is trash everywhere in The video/computer area. I don't recommend them as they deferred me over something my doctor wrote on a form to contact him if my blood pressure was high again. That was the reason they deferred me so they lost a doner over a silly issue. Instead of saying let's fix this have the doctor rewrite the form they rather lose a doner then take to time to fix it. I went to CSL for my normally scheduled donation of plasma at 3757 W Ina Rd Suite 100/120, Tucson, AZ 85741, on 14Sep23 at 7am. The attendant said my temperature was 101 then said "you cannot donate today." I said please take my temperature again, she said no, come back tomorrow. I explained that it's an hour drive round trip from home, she didn't care. I said I do not have a fever; she didn't care. I went to a lady in the back, explained what happen, she didn't care, and said no one's temperature is taken a second time. I went home, took my temperature three times and each time it read 97.1, 97.2 and 97.0. I cannot work with a place that is wrong and won't even attempt to fix their mistake. CSL has no customer service and is so ridged in its position that there is no chance to see it their equipment is incorrect. Further, their staff are loud, horsing around while donors are donating, careless when jabbing you with the needle and often forget to check to see if you're done donating. Sloppy operation, not worth the donation fee. I deleted their app, won't be returning. read more

I have been donating for almost 5 years now. I have had some interesting experiences over the years. Lately, they increased the pay, but at the cost if over double the time spent there due to not enough staff. I used to be in and out in about 50 minutes. Now, it's an hour and a half plus wait in line, donors are NOT social distancing in line, and there is now a wait to get the needle out of your arm. It's over 2 hours of my time. (actual donation time for me is about 32 minutes). I love the idea of helping others while making a buck, but my old hips don't like standing for that long. read more

The staff is always very courteous even though some days they are understaffed. They acknowledge you and are welcoming.

I have hyper-pigmentation around my elbows and on my neck, a fairly common thing. They claimed this was bruising even though it's obviously not, and my pigmentation is exactly the same on both arms. These people really hire the most incompetent people and I have no idea whether or not it's even safe to donate because people like this can't be trusted to maintain sterility or hygiene. read more

I went to the Ina location and Amanda did the ore screening process and randy did the actual donation. It took a lot longer than I had expected but the representatives were telling me that they have never had that many first time donors in such a short period of time. So there were a lot of people doing the screenings. The actual donating process went flawlessly. I enjoy it as much as one possibly could. Everyone treated me with great respect and the place looked very clean and sanitary. I will definitely be going back for a second donation! read more

Wow!! Second time I go in to donate on my big bonus day, and I'm told I can't donate and am deferred for a week on top of it!! My protein was supposedly .2 below what they say it has to be. $70 bonus day coincidentally!! And why do I have to wait a week on top of not being able to donate today? Interesting!! Like I said, second time it's happened on a bonus day!! Wondering if I'll ever go back here!! Ridiculous!!!! They are going downhill fast in my opinion! i go to the Butterfield location and the customer service is horrible. i get theres a lot of donors who come in everyday, but when the staff doesnt work and just stands around talking while ignoring donors its not professional. they get attitude when tou interrupt them, and it takes 3 hours to completr a donation, only 30-45mins of that process was the actual donation. the rest was waiting on the staff! if they know its going to be busy, they really need to get better staff who is wanting to work and help out donors. dont donors make up the companies income? lose donors for poor staff and then what? read more
