In addition to the drive belt he performed extensive troubleshooting to solve an electrical mystery. During the whole process he communicated status and changes to cost (reasonable). I did, but I should not have. boat motor they sold us was inoperable weeks after the purchase. Spent time in the shop summer '24, all spring of '25. they insisted they were doing us a favor and put a 14 year old motor on our boat for another $2500. That motor worked temporarily but now that i brought it to a real mechanic after issues, he informed me the computer in the motor is shot and thats why the issues exist. So they sold me a second garbage motor and told us they were doing us a favor. Over 2 grand in repairs a year after they did the work.

In that time, I purchased a used motor (lasted less than 1 year), then a rebuilt (lasted less than 1 year) then a new motor (still in use). I also had you do thousands of dollars of other repairs and maintenance. I did hit a rock and brought the boat to you. The damage was cosmetic. I used the boat for 4 months after hitting it with no problems. As discussed, I brought it to you off-season so you could fix the cosmetic damage (weld on a new skeg). The first time I used it after your "repair", the lower unit failed (quite a coincidence) - most likely as the result of having no gear lube in it. Only you would blame an incident that happened a year earlier rather than the work that was done (by you) on the failed component (lower unit) only days earlier. I called West Marine in Stratford and they didn't have any. I called Milford Boat Works and they had it which made me happy as I am from Milford and didn't have to go out of my way. Since it was raining, I decided to get some rain gear for my trip. Milford Boat Works had just what I needed. And, you know how the saying goes, if you have rain gear, the sun will be shinning!
