My family recently got a boat that needed some work. Among other things, one of the the Mercury Optimax engines was not running. We started with getting work done at the local marina where the boat was kept. They thought worse case scenario they could get the engine working with a couple grand and a couple of weeks. They didn't know what was wrong with the engine, but basically started by just replacing random parts without any definite plan. After about 4k of sunk costs and 2 months of wasted time without any progress, we finally decided to move the boat to a Mercury dealer to see if they could identify the problem. At the Mercury dealer the boat languished for another couple of months while they tried to fix the problem. They stated that they found the problem and could get the engine running in 2 weeks. Supposedly it was a 900 dollar part and an easy fix. They indeed got the engine running, but almost as soon as it started to work, it developed another problem that they could not fix. We sunk another 2 grand and another 2 months at this second location. We finally decided that the engine was not salvageable and that we were going to repower. So after 6 grand and about 4 months, the motor was gone. After shopping around, Diamond Marine definitely had the best price by several thousand dollars. We were worried about the repower because we got burned at the other two places so badly. We expected that over optimistic time tables and unexpected costs were the norm. After a lot of back and forth we decided to repower. Tom was very professional and straight up with everything. They quoted us a price and a date for likely delivery. Everything was done in about 2 weeks time exactly as scheduled. The price was exactly as quoted. And that was it. We drove our boat away and haven't had an issue. Now we have the reassurance of having 6 years of warranty and Yamaha power on the back. During the repower process, Tom would call with updates, which is a refreshing change from the previous situation when we had trouble tracking down the guys working on the boat from the other two locations. Overall it's been the only part of boat ownership that has cost exactly as much as promised and happened when promised.

I knew that Patchogue Shores Marina sold exactly what I wanted, Glastron boats, so I waited to visit the marina in person. From the moment I walked into the Marina office David Kazmark, the owner, made me feel welcome and gave me the sense that I was in good hands. From my research I knew that it was a sellers market. Was I lucky that through serendipity that Patchogue Shores Marina had exactly what I wanted, yes! but I am even luckier that David and his sales manager Fletch Adamo treated me fairly and professionally. Through every step of the process Fletch and David have been helpful. They made a process that can be difficult in the best of times as simple and accommodating through a very complicated time. Simply put, Patchogue Shores Marina is the best. David, Fletch and the crew at the Marina are really nice people and a pleasure to work with. Thanks
