Awesome food variety to choose from. Service is good, excellent coffee. Lots of flavorful food

This is a craft gastro-joint. The place is pretty cool (on a second floor) near the open air market "Mercado Hidalgo" -- but don't let that fool you, the place is worth a visit! Their dishes are a blend of traditional Mexican recipes with some classic Italian/French cuisine art fusion. The craft beer selection was also essential.

Really hidden restaurant. The entrance is on the outside of the Hidalgo market. Look for staircases that take you to the 2nd floor with lots of plants. The restaurant is on the right. Came on a Sunday after shopping. Got the Partridges with Herbs. My friend got the Salmon Omelette. Both delicious. Well seasoned, great flavor, and beautiful presentation. Service was good too. Highly recommend

Wow, what a find in Mercado Hidalgo. This is the perfect spot to bring a date. Check at mercado Hidalgo below, and then come up stairs for food and drinks. We had the Partridge with potatoes, and smoked salmon omelette. Both where delicious. The sauces used here pair well with the foods. The menu is small, but they have a breakfast and a dinner menu, and they let us order from either, it was around noon when we where here. Service was excellent, and this place has a very romantic ambience. We will definitely be returning.

This is literally a hidden gem at Mercado Hidalgo in Tijuana. Mercado Hidalgo is situated a five minute drive from the Mexican American Border. Mercado Hidalgo is just west of the first roundabout on Paseo de Los Heroes. Cuatro Etnias is on the second floor adjacent to the East Entrance of Mercado Hidalgo. Cuatro Etnias specializes in a small but well executed menu. The breakfast menu for example consists of salmon, shrimp and or vegetarian omelletes. Chilaquiles, potatote cakes with poached eggs, etc. The food is seasoned perfectly. The restaurant has an inside or an outside dining garden that looks over the market. What sets Cuatro Etnias apart is the impeccable service and its attention to detail on their presentation and execution. They too have a lunch menu which is amazing. You simply have to check it out. Once your done, you can shop at the amazing market below. A side of Tijuana most not know of.

If you are looking for a different type of place for breakfast in Tijuana, you will discover the…read morename, Marenca. The Zona Rio location has a small dining area, that is very popular with both the locals and visitors. It is easy to see why. Their menu does not over dose on the standard morning and afternoon items that you would find anyplace. However, this is the first restaurant I've been to in Tijuana, that does not have an English menu.... so I had to labor through the Spanish menu. But, they do have unique dishes, thus making the visit adventurous, because it is difficult to choose. I went back and forth, and finally settled for their 3-egg omelet with asparagus and sheep cheese. It came with refried beans, strings of carrots and beets, small fired up tostadas and fresh tortillas (both blue and yellow corn). A small side of soggy chilaquiles was also served. A small flavorful salsa tray is also provided with 3 options, ranging from mild to hot. The asparagus spears were thin, cut up into small pieces and sautéed with mild spices. The outer egg covering soft and not overdone. If anything, there was too much sheep cheese, in certain portions of the omelet. I say this because it was an asparagus omelet, and it, instead of the cheese, should have been the star. Still, it did not take away from the other commendable aspects of the complete entree and its accompaniments. Before the meal, a small refreshing fruit plate is served. Coffee and overall service here, was mucho excellente.

The restaurant is a large space with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is really cute and inviting. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. He even had a portable charger available for my phone, which was very convenient. What we ordered: *Aguachile Reina: This was delicious and had a little kick to it. If you're sensitive to spice, this might not be the best choice, but for those who enjoy a little spice, it's a great option. *Rock Shrimp: Absolutely phenomenal. This was probably one of my favorites of the night. The flavors were amazing, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. *Tuna Tartare: Another delicious dish. The portion size was generous, and they bring out chips to enjoy with it. We also enjoyed tequila on the rocks. They have a large liquor and cocktail menu. The food came out in less than 10 minutes, and everything tasted fresh. This is definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out when you're in the area. It's conveniently located just across the border, making it an easy stop for great food, good service, and a fun atmosphere.

They never made me feel rushed and were incredibly kind the entire time. The hamachi tostada was absolutely delicious, definitely the highlight of my meal. The shrimp taco was good, but it didn't stand out quite as much as the tostada. Even with a bit of a language barrier, every server and staff member was so friendly, patient, and welcoming. The service really made the experience. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Tijuana.
