The filling was dry, crumbly, and didn't have much flavor, just plain ground beef. We ended up doing that and it worked out very well. I was able to cut one large pastry into 6 wedges. The pastry dough is super flaky and airy. This wonderful dough is then filled with delicious guava paste and cream cheese - so yummy! The pastry to filling ratio is on point at Sweet Clary. I highly recommend giving these a try. Also, butter croissants, sfogliatelle, and Italian cookies. Also cheesecakes, cannolis, tarts and other pastries when the baker is so inclined. They also sell fresh pizza dough. The people in the shop are kindly, and prices are cheap. Walking in here is like a time warp which takes me back to my childhood. My aunt and uncle lived a block up from this place, and one of my earliest food memories as a kid was summer cookouts in their backyard. My uncle made great Newark-style deep-fried Italian hot dogs w/peppers & onions on these rolls.
