Oxtails and rice and beans!
Dragonlady L.

Dropped off daughter at her sport clinic and went to get takeout nearby. Passed this place a few weeks ago and thought, let's go check it out - authentic Cuban Cuisine as it's advertised! So very glad. Everything looked fresh, colorful and delicious! Friendly service and decided to stay for mine, and take out the rest for family: chicken and ham and cheese empanadas, yellow rice with black and pinto beans, more oxtails (other than ones pictured I ate in the restaurant!), ordered from the steam Table (steak) LoMo a la parrilla, roast pork (lechon asado - delicious crispy skin!), and ox tail! Slightly salty but All so Good! Family enjoyed it all! Will be back for more including ordering catering trays at very reasonable rates for example, roast pork for $50 to feed 10-15!)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Small place for dinning in, the food is delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have their own name brand beverages. A lot of takeout. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers speak mostly Spanish, so be prepared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It suits the ambiance and food experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] :-)

Receipt for an egg and cheese sandwich, a mamey shake, and a 3.5% credit card fee (which they don't tell you about).

I've been a client here for a long time; their food is really good, and I always tip when I pick up to eat it at home. And... I was charged $10.95 for an egg and cheese sandwich, as if "it were a ham and cheese sandwich." I asked the cashier if he knew how much it costs in the area. All around the area, the price for an egg and cheese sandwich is $6. He insisted that he had to charge me almost twice as much. I paid it. I'm not coming back.

El servicio está excelente y la comida súper rica con sabor casero. Súper recomendado si andan en New Jersey. El ambiente bueno no se diga con música cubana

Ropa vieja

Stopped by for dinner with my husband. We ordered the ropa vieja with extra meat and a side of maduros. Service was excellent and the food was very tasty. We enjoyed trying all the different flavorful sauces even though the food didn't need anything extra! The portion of maduros was very large. We enjoyed everything overall! Next time I'll try and save room for dessert!

The cafeteria style place was fine and the staff were responsive and cordial. The menu was very full and the fresh juices were tasty. The food was flavorful, but must admit the food temps were not what I expected. Should have served us hotter/warmer than it was. The one main dish after several apps was fine, but needed to be warmer. I wanted a local business with CUBAN in the name to make me smile and be happy. I would try and give it a second chance, but they need to serve food hotter. Heat it up and more will come.

This place is truly a hidden gem! They serve really great Cuban food! I went here for dinner and got the churrasco, and my family had the pork. Both were really delicious and flavorful. Prepared really well and served nicely. The service was great and the place is decorated very cute with Cuban art on the wall. This place is great for lunch but also good for a casual diner. I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

I wanted to come here to try this please because we have been meeting a Cuban spot around here. I've heard many good things about this place maybe it was an off night but we've waited so long for service and then I felt as though the meal is not really authentic. I have the Cuban beef stew which was just okay with white rice and red beans my husband had a chicken sandwich which she said was pretty good probably won't be coming back because I have other restaurants that I feel are better

Everything looks really good when you walk in, but the looks really didn't match the tasted. It also could have been what I got. The whitw rice and the Erica sauce had the most flavor. The Garlic pork lacked flavor and garlic. The meat was really soft, but lacked seasoning. The beans were ok, but too watery for my taste. I would possibly try something else in the future because I like to give second chances, but for the price and the amount of food you get it may not be right away. Also know that they charge you a fee for using a card and it's not posted anywhere

Probably I best Cuban food in the area. Plentiful and authentic. Don't sleep in this little gem.

My boyfriend had the chicken Latin bowl which I think I'll get next time! Both were flavorful and well seasoned! Service was quick as the lady behind the register was friendly and patient with both of us. Cute spot to have your meal or take it to go! Can't wait to try their empanadas!

One can stuff them with any number of things. On this Nochebuena (Christmas Eve), while in the neighborhood of Totowa, my partner and I decided to pay a visit to this establishment for takeout as first-timers. Opened 6 years ago, Mama Ana's Empanadas is a family-owned restaurant specializing in empanadas located off of Union Blvd. Greeted by the staff upon arrival, the interior vibe was not only festive but cozy and casual with seating for 20 patrons. From the menu, one can choose up to 18 different kinds of empanadas, from classic beef or chicken to cheesesteak and Cuban; either have them baked or fried. They also offer Latin" bowls, salads, and sandwiches. We decided on the cheesesteak empanada and broccoli & cheese empanada, as well as the Chicharrones de Cerdo bowl, accompanied by rice and beans with a side of maduros (sweet plantain). The cheesesteak was tasty. The broccoli came with mozzarella, which was salty. The cheddar would have been better. The empanada dough was hot, flaky, and huge. Chicharrones de cerdo bowl was served piping hot and hit the spot. The pork wasn't hard but had great flavor and chew. The price was reasonable due to its size and portion. The service was slow, but we know the food was made fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Ada and Yame. We can recommend this place.
