This is one of the most authentic Cuban restaurant here in Lakeland it's a very small place with normally just one waitress she's also very nice I had the pork with black beans and rice and sweet plantains don't forget to get your Cafe Con Leche with real sugar it's the bomb the inside is very quaint and they have a lot of different sweets that you can buy but most of the time they're gone so if you see them buy them. I'm giving 3 stars to be fair, but I'd like to give zero. We never actually got to eat here. We live in Auburndale/Winter Haven and have been on the search for a decent Cuban sandwich. The reviews on yelp seemed promising. We drove 30 minutes and found it easily. Husband noticed the OPEN sign was not lit. "YELP stated it's open until 6 today." I was starving by this point and decided to walk up and check the door. Locked. There was a sign on the door. Closed for 10 days. But they have another location about a mile down the road. We decided to try it. We drive to the "other location" but could not find "Cuban Delights". We saw a place called something unusual like Cuban Pizza, but we weren't looking for pizza, just a Cuban sandwich. Very disappointing. I understand that life happens. People get sick, but next time maybe you should be more specific about your "other location." I also take responsibility that I could have left Yelp and gone to your website to verify your hours. But that's why I don't leave you one star. If you're still reading, we ended up seeing 4 RIVERS SMOKEHOUSE and decided to try it out. I was shocked to see a CUBAN on the menu. Now, it's definitely not an "authentic" Cuban. But it had more meat on it than any Cuban I can remember and it had a ton of roasted pork. I'm stuffed! Today I had a late lunch at Cuban Delight Café, located in the strip mall at 1039 Co Rd 540A, Lakeland. (It's next to the Mobil station on the corner of 540A and Carter Road.) The special of the day was roasted pork with Mojo on top and included sides of rice, sweet plantains, and black beans. The portion was huge! The pork was very tender and very delicious! This is a small restaurant with a few tables. This is a friendly place with many of the customers speaking Spanish with each other and the staff. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The service was quick, and I wish I had room for one of the guava filled pastries they had on display. I will definitely be back! If you are in the southern reaches of Lakeland, you owe it to yourself to check out this lovely little café! read more

Well what can I say!!! We absolutely love this place and eat here at least several times a week and or just stop by for a quick Cafe con Leche. This small location is the best in south Lakeland and affordable. You will not find better Cuban meals than this. They also own the Cuban pizza location on S.Florida Ave called "La Guapachosa" and it's delicious also. They also offer the same food as this location. read more

Really enjoyed lunch here with our group of four. Interior decor has lots of Cuban fare adorning the walls, with standard two person tables that can be maneuvered to fit four or six in a party. Also there's counter seating. Bathroom was nicely decorated and very clean. Service: very friendly, two waitresses who were hustling around bussing serving taking orders and doing takeout. Knowing some Spanish definitely helps but isn't required. So...the food. One of the best Cuban meals I've ever had. I enjoyed the bissteca special, which was marinated chunks of beef along with soft boiled potatoes and rice. Tender flavorful beef. Potatoes cooked perfectly. Plantains on the side were great. Another guest had the grilled steak which reminded me of a skirt steak. Big portion of each. The pulled pork on Cuban bread was huge, tasted great and cut in thirds so not too hard to eat. I have stopped in twice to try their guava pastries and they have been sold out..... they must be amazing and I will continue to stop in until I can try one. On this last visit I went ahead and tried one of their prepackaged guava cakes and a cafe con leche. The cake even though packaged still tasted authentic, I loved how much guava filled the cake. In the 45 minutes we were there, there was a steady stream of people, some of which looked like regulars, based on their interaction with the owners. Now for the food...my sister and I each ordered the 1/2 of a Cuban (very generous portion) and the fried yucca which came with a side of garlic sauce. I came close to sticking my straw in the sauce and just slurping it. Our sandwiches were great. The bread was pressed and toasted just right and the sandwich had a great balance of the meats, cheese, pickles, and mustard. I only wish this place was in Orlando, not Lakeland, so I could visit more often. read more
