My hubby and I love having date morning and trying all the different breakfast spots around town so we decided to try Britt's. Service was impeccable, fast and friendly. Food was where it fell a little short for me. Husband had the corn beef hash and upgraded to hash-browns for an extra charge. I had the 2 eggs, home fries, toast and 1/2 biscuits and gravy. Eggs were a little dry, toast was great, and biscuits and gravy was okay. Not much flavor. Home fries were undercooked, but I had so much food I didn't really need to eat all of them so it was ok. Sadly within 30 mins of eating I had bad stomach pains. Something I never experienced from biscuits and gravy before. Will we be back? Maybe. Their onion rings look delish in pictures! read more

I've driven past Britt's several times and it always caught my eye. It is a super cute little cafe and I was very happy with my experience. I got the cuban sandwich and it wasn't mind-blowing but it was good and everything you could want or expect from a cuban sandwich (I THINk- my cuban knowledge is pretty lacking this far in life honestly). What I especially enjoyed, though, was the loaded baked potato soup, I would definitely recommend it! The turkey reuben is a great sandwich as well, I think I liked that one even better than the cuban. I'd love to come back here for breakfast one day and see how that is. I'm a huggeeee breakfast person and I feel like that's probably where this place really hits the mark. Our waitress and the other workers were real friendly as well! If you like small cafes that are super simple, almost old school so they're not overdone, and dish good food that matches the atmosphere and setup, then you'll love Britt's. read more

My wife and I visited Britt's Café for breakfast earlier today. I ordered the Cheesesteak Omelet with a side of hashbrowns and a biscuit. Fluffy egg was wrapped around tender steak, juicy mushrooms, crisp onions and bell peppers and gooey provolone cheese. The side of hashbrowns were soft with a nicely crisp outside. The biscuit was soft, savory and very lightly toasted. Overall, this was a good quality diner style breakfast. read more

We came by with our ladies lunch box club. It is a bit hard to get to with all the construction. We were seated right away and our waitress took our order. She was a bit put off as we walked in when her omelette was done. She took our order and brought our water and coffee. We did not have to wait as there were not many other patrons. The french toast was good and we were happy they had sugar free syrup. The tuna salad on toasted wheat was good and she took half home. My omelette was good and the veggies were sautéed before being put in. My cuban cheese toast was sad, threw a piece of cheese kinda on the bread, so not recommend. Overall it was a good brunch. This is a little cafe, favorite among locals, located at the end of a strip mall along Harden Boulevard called Oakbridge Centre. My mom and I came here after a visit to my doctor's lab and I needed breakfast, fast. Even though it was after 8 am, Britt's Cafe was still busy, inside and out. There is a sidewalk patio outside, seating about 12, inside tables and a tiny bar seating 4. We were lucky and managed to get a table without waiting. Coffee was good, average, but the lovely waitstaff kept it flowing. Everyone we encountered were gracious and kind. They had a very busy "to go" business with lots of take out. Mom and I both ordered the "Sunny Sweet Cakes" which was customizable and very affordable at $6.49 a plate. I had French Toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon for mine and she had pancakes, over medium eggs and bacon with hers. As busy as they were, the food came out fast. Everything was perfect. The bacon was crisp, the eggs were on point, and both the French Toast and the pancakes were exactly what we wanted. We peeked at the lunch menu and saw things we'd like to try at a later time. This is a solid diner experience located in a strip mall under construction, behind chain link. They deserve kudos for grinning & bearing it for so long. I ate outside due to a large loud party inside when I got there. Seating was not particularly comfortable. Some of the loudness comes from regular customers knowing the staff and shouting back & forth. They make a nice French toast on soft bread, it's not soaked & soggy in egg, which I liked. Got a side scrambled egg, cooked well. There lunch menu looks great and I hope to get in and try other things. Service was "okay", definitiely friendly, but could've been better on timing, possibly due to my being outside, out of view. Based on one meal, I'd definitely return but not ready to pour on the "kudos" yet. read more

We stopped in for breakfast this morning for our first visit. Despite being slammed due to lots of places being closed the day after Christmas, every one of the staff was super nice, very aware of the customers needs, and did a great job with a smile. The food was very fresh and made to order. We sat at the bar and the two cooks were playing the grill like it was a well tuned orchestra. Truly a great meal. We will be back. read more

Hubby and I had breakfast at Britt's yesterday. He enjoyed his scrambled eggs and a buttered bagel but my breakfast was outstanding. The over medium eggs and brioche French toast were perfect. This review is of Britt's new north Lakeland location. If you're looking for a true breakfast/lunch place, skip Britt's Cafe! They don't serve breakfast after 11:30 (we were there at 11:50). We assumed, incorrectly, that any breakfast/lunch place open until just 2pm served breakfast during all their hours. Unfortunately, this isn't noted on the menu nor on their website. In fact when we were seated, the hostess didn't mention it either. Deciding to stay after that disappointment (the blueberry pancakes we spied on an unbussed table outside looked delicious), I ordered a hamburger and my wife ordered a grilled chicken salad. My hamburger arrived without the cheese I ordered which the waitress quickly fixed. Both it and the standard potato chips it came with were ok (the hamburger could have been seasoned a little). My wife's salad was on the small side for the price and the chicken didn't appear to be freshly grilled - it was dry and not hot. On the plus side, the servers were very friendly and helpful. For this visit, the food was definitely not worthy of a revisit. read more

So disappointing the service was good the food was not so great. I was there with my family for breakfast the home fries were like boiled potatoes that were chopped and salted many were not fully cooked nearly raw. The omelettes were thin flat greasy. The cheese grits were like somebody put cheese in the bottom of a bowl and put grits on top of them hubby didn't find the cheese until he got to the bottom of the bowl very unimpressive. The hash brown portion was very small and when we asked about it they said oh it's pre-measured in a baggie so that's the right size but boy it was a small portion. The sweet tea was like sweet water we all sent it back and told them there was no tea flavor. The server said well we make large batches. We'll doesn't all restaurants? We visited Britt's on 12-2-2024 with my fully trained service dog. We were met at the door by Heather who immediately told us that we could only have our dog if we ate on the patio. I informed her that Roxie was my fully trained service dog. (Roxie also had on her "service dog" vest). Once I told Heather that Roxie was my service dog, she literally rolled her eyes and let out a huge breathe and walked away from us. I am assuming she walked away to try to figure out where to put us. However, I no longer wanted to eat at this establishment since I felt that she did not want to make accommodation for my service animal and we were not made to feel welcome at all. Roxie has been my service animal for 2 years and has flown on planes, eaten in every single restaurant without any issue and attends church and every doctor appointment.. I am just disappointed as we were visiting from out of town and Britt's was a recommended place to have breakfast. Do better Britt's!!! read more

Went in for a late breakfast. Sat at the bar area. Service was good. Food was ok. I had biscuits with sausage and gravy with a side of bacon. Gravy was room temperature and bacon was cold. As I looked at the food prep area I could see why. Bacon sitting in a warmer wide open. Remaining open the whole time I was there. Watching the cooks they seemed very unorganized. Had Breakfast at Britt's but was a little disappointed. Had heard it was good but we found the food to be not so good. Ordered the nitty gritty bowl /bacon & gravy. The bacon had a good flavor but my one piece was burnt and the other piece was not quite done. We ordered the eggs over medium and they were not completely done, so I guess was over easy, just cannot eat undone eggs. The biscuit was tasteless & gravy was cold, thick & just not good. The grits in the bowl with the cheese was ok. Just was expecting something better, we probably will not return for breakfast again. read more

Britt's has undergone a makeover in decor, menu and staff. The decor has been completely updated and it looks great. This update isn't something that just happened but has evolved over time and the result is very good. The menu has been upgraded some to include a new look and a few new offerings, again all for the better. The staff seems to change quite often. On that note it was great seeing a long time favorite server, Irene, working at Britt's. The cuban sandwich we ordered today was great as usual and Britt's continues to have the best fries of any place in Lakeland, and there onion rings are definitely in the top 3 best in Lakeland. My only disappointment with today's lunch was that there was no chili on the menu. I would like to see Britt's bring back the chili-dog that that had on the menu years ago. read more

That was the worst Cuban sandwich I've ever had. There was literally no meat and no cheese between two pieces of bread. It was served with chicken noodle soup that was cold by the time I drove 3 minutes home to eat it. For $13 for a 6 inch sandwich and a cold bowl of soup, not good. read more

Excellent. Excellent customer service, clean and fast. Super delicious breakfast! We had french toast , fluffy buttermilk pancakes, bacon , over easy eggs , and fried potatoes. All perfectly cooked. It's seriously hard to find a breakfast place that knows how to do it right in Florida. This place blows Cracker Barrel and Fred's outta the water. I think it's because it's small, so they have the time, talent, desire and ability to do it right. They make it personal for each customer. These are real people making real homemade food.
