I've ordered aji de gallina once before at this location and was not content with the dish. I've decided to try again a year later to see if the quality got better but it's the same. Unfortunately it just lacks a lot of flavor, and the chicken is overcooked again. The first time I had aji de gallina was from my Peruvian friend who cooked this for me in his home. It had so much flavor, a bit of a kick and the chicken was moist and didn't have that rubbery feeling at all. He no longer lives near so I thought I could come to El Patio to get that authentic Peruvian taste. Such a shame. Literally amazing food. I've always passed by while I was in Cape and wanted to try. I ordered the Steak a la Parilla and the fish ceviche. The ceviche was delicious! My steak was good, but I recommend spending the extra money and getting the Baby Beef (skirt steak). My friend got that and it was 10/10, so amazing. They also have fresh juices as well! El Patio in Cape Coral has some really good food. Everything is cooked well, seasoned well and generally tastes great. It's not,... unforgettable or amazing in any way BUT if you want an authentic Peruvian experience, this is it. The green spaghetti will throw some people off BUT it's amazing. Yesterday's green spaghetti was a bit underwhelming but it's ok. The tostone was also a bit dry, like they double fried it after letting it sit for a bit. They were dead so that's ok too. The beef was cooked perfectly and that potato was so good. I love potatoes anyways so this is always a welcome addition. (Having a potato haha) The only issue I had was that the meat burned a hole in the container and the juices got all over my wife's pants. It was... disconcerting. Thankfully we were eating in the car and we're going to go home afterwards but I'd make sure of these things or put cardboard spacers in between the food containers.. If your hankering for something different than tacos and want something more... exotic in the food department but still ethnic, El Patio is the place to go! read more

BEWARE!! Taking advantage of your customers is bad business practice. We are from Orlando and have visited Fort Myers twice a year for more than 15 years. This restaurant was always our first choice on our arrival. We are always a party of four and very easy to please. We are used to tipping 20% or more everywhere we go. Not only was the tip added to our bill without mentioning anything, but when you get your card/receipt to sign, they have the suggestion on the percentage you should tip......again!! Not one word about the to being added already. We would've paid more than $50+ in tips had not been for my husband, remembering they did the same last time. I called them and they told me to bring it back and they would replace my order; however, when I returned to Lehigh with my food after driving twice (about an hour round trip), the second ceviche was also spoiled!! El Patio is one of our favorite Peruvian Restaurant in Fort Myers. I was surprised I did not write a review for this place. Located at a non-descriptive strip mall around US 41 and Colonial Blvd, this is a nice, clean, casual, family-oriented restaurant with ample parking. Outside banner replaced with a nice fresh new design. The decoration is little sparse but there is a nice wine room surrounding with thousands of bottles of wine. If you have a group of 8-12, called ahead and reserve this room! For Sunday lunch, no Chica Morado (purple cola) today. However, I settled down with a glass of house Merlot and a free side of cancha (corn) with red and green sauce! For the food, our favorites are Cerviche, Lomo Saltado, various Tacu Tacu with seafood or just going down the menu from spaghetti to Chaufa. My wife loves the Lomo Saltado here; the beef sautéed with onions and tomatoes are perfectly cooked and not salty at all! Today's Tacu Tacu with mussels, shrimps, scallops, calamari, smothered with creamy sauce over nice crusty rice with beans is exquisite and works well with your palate! One word for this dish, delicious! We did not go to the connected El Patio Ice cream parlor since we don't have any room for flan, pudding or cakes. Everything was delicious - it was one of the best meals I have eaten in a restaurant in a long time. This was my first time having Peruvian food and this place super legit. It's not the most contemporary looking place, but here it's all about the food and they get it right. I think we were the only non Spanish speakers at the restaurant so you know it's good. If there was ever a Peruvian dish made for me, it's Tacu Tacu Con Lomo Saltado. Tacu Tacu is basically Peruvian dirty rice and beans. Super flavorful and I love how the top layer of the rice is toasted for a nice little crunch. You can get Tacu Tacu served several different ways (my sister got a grilled steak with chimichurri), but the Lomo Saltado (think Peruvian fajitas) was out of this world because of the extra marinate that the rice soaks up. If it was socially acceptable, I would've been licking the plate clean. After my experience at El Patio, I'll definitely be seeking out more Peruvian restaurants in my travels. Just from the smell when you walk in you can already tell you made a good choice. Love the interior design of the place very intimate and calming dim lights. Never been here before so it seems the menu for dinner and lunch are different. So many options but categorized in sections to make it easier to decide. I went with the house fried rice and my friend got the grilled fish with rice and beans. I'd reccomend getting a lime to squeeze on the fish. The drink menu is nice pregant so had to skip out on the sangria but looking at the other tables as they came out drinks looked amazing.
