Quick feedback for those looking to a storage facility 1…read more Place is brand new and clean 2. Entrance is really easy to get large trucks in and out, especially in Chicago cold winters 3. Manager of the place was super nice and accomodating (in terms of the millions of questions I had) 4. I needed something a little bit out of the ordinary and they were really helpful 5. Prices on the the same square footage vary..do your math 6. Take a photo of the access code in your iPhone bc you'll never find that card when you need it. One thing on the potential negative side...you need to use a barrel lock vs padlock. If you don't have one of these, it costs about $14. I ended up buying two, but only used 1. I gave my extra to the manager and asked him to give it to someone who was "down on their luck and needed it"...if you rent from here and finish with your locker, I'd hope you would do the same thing (or give it to a goodwill, that can give it to someone needy) FYI - my comparison storage facility is one I have used in Sydney Australia, and while the staff were friendly and easy to work with, the storage space was grotty, would only give that one 3 stars if I'd have to review it

Review for Public Storage - Central Rd, Mount Prospect…read more I recently moved out of my unit at this Public Storage location and was extremely disappointed to discover that many of my household items were covered in mold. This included a leather couch, large desk, two kids' mattresses, a large rug, framed pictures, a decorative wall hanging, food tray tables, a couch table console, two kids' dressers, and a trundle bed. Nearly everything had to be thrown away, except for the trundle bed and dressers, which I had to power wash and treat with mold spray just to salvage. When I spoke with a staff member at the front desk, he was kind and understanding. He acknowledged that at least 3 other tenants had complained about mold and the strong mildew/musk smell in he month of August alone. He also informed me that the facility is only heat-controlled, not air-conditioned, despite the website advertising "temperature-controlled" units. This is incredibly misleading and contributed to the damage to my belongings. The staff member mentioned that there should be signage inside clarifying the heat-only setup, but the manager refuses to hang it. He also said he's repeatedly asked for the facility to be remedied due to its poor condition. The smell of mildew is very evident, and even he admitted to it. I was told I'd receive a call back within 72 hours to discuss what could be done to help me, but it's been over a week and I've heard nothing. This lack of accountability and follow-through is unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering this location for storage--especially if you're storing furniture or other sensitive items. The misleading advertising and poor facility conditions have cost me hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in damage.

The menu tree for the local number at my rental location tells me to try chat. They keep asking me if Ive moved out of my rented parking space. Ive told them yes, and also I have no car there and Im done using it but they just keep asking me if Ive moved out. I have pressed the digit for a new rental, when they find out Im trying ot close my account they transfer me and it hangs up on me. This has happened three times now.

I did a lot of research to find the best value given the time and distance I needed the truck. When I called to clarify something, they were extremely friendly and helpful on the phone, and even offered a better price than listed on Penske's site. When I arrived to rent the truck, they were very welcoming and helpful, even allowing us to pick it up a couple hours early at no extra charge. No line, no waiting. The truck was clean and in good condition and they talked me through the various rental paperwork. I dropped off the truck in the evening and called a week later to stop by and pick up the final receipt. I assumed they'd be a little unhappy about having to dig out the receipt, but the guy on the phone seemed genuinely happy to help! When I picked up the final paperwork, the charges were clearly spelled out and there were no surprises. Moving yourself is a REALLY stressful process and these guys make the process hassle-free. I've used Uhaul numerous times before and regret it every time--long lines, small print with some hidden cost, and grouchy & overworked staff (and customers). Highly recommended.

I used them for my Schaumburg-Arlington Heights move and kept it under $50 TOTAL for 8am-3pm with a 10' truck. There was no waiting whatsoever and the truck was clean and ready to go. I don't know how picky they are, but I'd just make sure that you have all the current scratches/dings marked on the check-out sheet. They were pretty good about it, but I always double check because I don't feel like paying for scratch I didn't make, at Noffs or anywhere else. :) *You have to return the truck on Full. They give it to you on Full, but only AT THE FULL LINE. If you just let the gas fill all the way up at the pump, you will be paying for like 3+ extra gallons because it will go BEYOND the Full line. Just a little fyi for those of you trying to move fast and cheap! :) Overall service was great, quick, and clean. I am actually going to use them again because I need to move some couches. Highly recommend!
