I've never had an issue with my units, the grounds, or the overall safety of the facility. I genuinely enjoy being here. Over the years, I've referred many people, and at least four of my immediate family members currently rent units here as well. Office management is amazing Scott and Lawrence deserve real recognition. Scott is the on-site backbone of this facility -- the one you see constantly staying on top of the grounds, making sure everything is clean, maintained, and running smoothly day in and day out. His customer service is phenomena; he's dependable, consistent, patient, respectful, and always willing to assist. Lawrence is also phenomenal to work with -- professional, helpful, and always clear when handling anything that involves paperwork or questions. Together, Scott and Lawrence make the office run the way it should, and they're a major part of why I've stayed loyal all these years. When I need something done, they make the process simple and straightforward, every time. To be transparent, I do avoid dealing with one staff member: Ian. My interactions with him have been consistently difficult. His tone comes across condescending, like you know less than you do and he tends to complicate simple requests instead of clarifying them. A recent experience -- I was moving things between my two units and using the electrical outlet on the wall. I'd been plugged in for about two and a half hours with no problem, and then 45 minutes before closing Ian suddenly came out to tell me I wasn't allowed to use it. So it took 150 minutes for you to realize and address the issue. A few days later, I called to ask if they stil had any larger unit I oreviously discussed with Scott available so I could consolidate, and in the middle of the conversation he repeats, "And just to remind you, you also can't use the electrical outlets." At that point, it felt unnecessary. I heard you the first time I'm an adult, I understood it, and repeating it came off exactly the way my experiences with him usually feel. Aside from that, this facility has been nothing but dependable -- clean grounds, secure units, and reliable management. I've been here almost ten years, I currently have two units, and I don't plan on going anywhere else. If you're looking for a storage facility you can actually trust long-term, with staff who genuinely take care of their tenants, ask for Lawrence or Scott. They're the reason so many of us stay loyal to American River Self Storage.

She did all the paperwork quickly and efficiently. She took all the pictures and gave us the keys. In and out in about 10-15 minutes. Truck return took even less time. When we unloaded a mattress we noticed that the inside of the truck was pretty dusty and dirty. You might sweep it before loading if that will affect your load. Highly recommended.

Furthermore, there are NO cameras in the halls of the non-climate controlled area, making it extremely easy for thieves to conceal their actions. In the case of the burglary to my unit, Management and Police have been unhelpful so far. Avoid all of the time and money spent getting your stuff back and rent elsewhere, at least at a place with cameras inside the facility.

Upon moving out of my unit, I was informed they "do not prorate the bill on the way out, just on…read morethe way in." So in other words, they are charging for a period of 23 days of this month without providing any services. That is theft and it's disgusting. It's my money for 23 days in exchange for nothing. It's also a conscious, calculated business choice. Their calculation can factor in 1-star reviews, then. I urge all Trojan storage users to give 1-star reviews for this this reason. The employee that informed me of this theft asked "is that ok?" lol. No, it's very not ok. But of course, her hands are tied and she can't do anything about it, because it's an on-purpose, calculated, anti-consumer policy. A remedy would be as follows: 1) refund the money stolen from me for these 23 days, 2) change the policy for all Trojan Storage users so that you no longer charge for services that aren't even rendered (in other words, you need to pro-rate on the way out), and 3) issue a public apology for this embarrassingly grotesque, greedy behavior.

Moved into this place in a hurry because it was the cheapest in town... I just moved out after…read moreseeing the condition of my unit! Mouse poop and pee everywhere... They even chewed some of my belongings... not weather proof! There was wet concrete and mold under a lot of my bins... I have brought all these concerns to the attention of management and they said they will be handling the problem! But just be vigilant of your stuff... Would probably be a good idea to check your unit once a week or so and let management know as soon as you see an issue. Everyone who works here is super nice and helpful!
