We asked to move outside to catch the game, and while the server accommodated us, it was clear he wasn't too thrilled about it. We started with drinks, which were actually great; so good that we ended up ordering three rounds plus shots! For appetizers, we had the grilled bone marrow and empanadas, followed by a New York strip loin (recommended by the server) with creamy spinach and truffle fries. The empanadas and fries were delicious, but the steak was completely bland, definitely not worth the price. We asked for a spicy salsa, and the server brought one out "on the house," which was amazing. I even asked to take the leftover salsa home. Now, here's where things turned shady. Throughout the meal, the server kept upselling us on everything; which we didn't mind since we were having a good time. But when the bill came, we noticed he charged us for the leftover salsa that he originally said was complimentary! It wasn't about the money, but the principle. We asked him to remove the charge and told him to forget the salsa. The manager noticed what happened, took care of the charge, and even packed the salsa with our leftovers. The server, however, never returned to the table after that. The ambiance and cleanliness were fine, but overall, the experience left a bad taste. VERDICT: I will not be coming back.

Both the mocktails and the cocktails were delightfully tasty. Our waiter Fernando was exceptional, going as far as to bring us the various cuts of meat when we have questions about what to order. The meat! The meat! The best steak my wife and I have had I'm recent memory! She had the Bite de Lomo. I had the arrechera. We both couldn't have been happier with our choice. We're already talking about making a trip down from San Diego to have dinner here!

They mix the drink right in front of you, and then pour it in front of you. The drink tasted yummy. It was not too sour. It was just right. The negroni was a stronger than the mezcal Patagonia. For me, the Negroni is more of a finishing drink. I would order both again. I preferred the mezcal Patagonia as it was more refreshing. The Negroni was on the sweet side. We ordered sparkling water and it was good. Service was excellent.

For texture, there was too much cheese around and it took away the spotlight from the main attraction, the small shrimp (which were cooked well). I now realized that I had ordered the wrong dish. They know the menu and can help you. They even sell cakes and other baked goods. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of it is great. If you want American breakfast they have that, but even better is their selection of Mexican style breakfast. Their machaca is great. We love their carna asada with eggs and their combination plates for breakfast are the best. They even have a kids menu. The prices are fair and dollars are always welcome, or just use your credit card. All of their dinner courses are great. They have fantastic tacos, burritos and steaks and some great seafood. Everything was extremely flavorful, especially the chicharrones they bring that are smothered in a red tomato sauce! I tried the menudo dish, which was super delicious and it definitely hit the spot! I also tried the chilaquiles that came accompanied with potatoes. We got the spiciest they have, and boy were they good! Not just spicy but well balanced! It's located on the 2nd floor of the busy shopping center where they sell homemade spices, candy, fruits, vegetables and food items, similar to a Mexican farmer's market ("Mercado Hidalgo"). It's a 10-15 minute walk from Costco. The food is really good, like fine dining level and I'm assuming locally sourced. I had the grilled vegetable salad and the NY steak, which was a really thick cut steak grilled to perfection. The salad was delicious and fresh, with a mustardy dressing that really accentuated the taste. With the steak, I asked for medium as in previous experiences with steak in Tijuana they tend to cook Med Rare more on the overly rare side, and it came out perfect, with a little pink. It came with a thick mushroom sauce, a pesto sauce on the side, and mashed cauliflower puree. Really one of the best meals I've had in Tijuana and could easily be among the best this year. To find, look for the staircase and climb to the top then turn left and go forward, you'll find the entrance. Highly recommend. I look forward to trying other things on the menu
