Great value and insane portions. For $25, I ate this for like two days, and I'm not even talking about the pizza. I ordered pasta. And I eat more than an average person. I guess, this was called a "family combo," but at $25, I just kind of expected I could finish it no problem. Instead, I got a soup, a huge salad, a ton of bread, spaghetti, lasagna, and ravioli. It's definitely not a super classy place. The salad is mostly cheap lettuce, but it does have tomatoes, banana peppers, and whole olives with the seeds. The soup is fine but generic. The marinara base sauce is generic, but the combination is good and the tomato umami is exquisite. The texture of all the pasta is pretty consistent. I was particularly impressed by the size and flavor of the meaty ravioli. They already provided a bunch of bread, but since I ordered this combo, they then provided another large portion of garlic bread. For the lunch, our group was outside on the covered patio area. This worked out well as things can get noisy. The weather also cooperated. Ashleigh handled our party, as well as the dining room. Food and drink were served in a timely manner and she was very helpful with addressing the minor details that normally occur with a large group. Kelsey also assisted when things got busy. The customer service we experienced was completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that we will be choosing another location or another Italian restaurant altogether in the future, which is disappointing considering how often we have patronized this establishment. My husband drove approximately 20 minutes to pick up our family's dinner order, which had been phoned in ahead of time. When he arrived, the hostess who handed him the bags confirmed that the entire order was in the bag. Upon arriving home, we discovered that our garlic bread and salad items that were supposed to come with one of our meals were missing. When my husband called the restaurant to let them know he would be returning to pick up the missing items, he was told that he would need to bring the entire order back with him to "prove" that the items were missing. This was both unreasonable and insulting, especially given that the mistake was on the restaurant's end and the drive is not a short one. I then called myself and was taken aback by the dismissive and unprofessional attitude of the employee who answered. The second person I spoke with was not much better, informing me that no manager was available and that someone should call me the following day (tomorrow) at 5:00 p.m. As a result, our food will now be cold, we are being significantly inconvenienced, and the restaurant has taken no accountability for its own error. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service in this situation is truly appalling. read more

The food, service, and ambiance is exceptional. The prices are reasonable, the food is fresh, and the staff is friendly. There is a parking lot and street parking available. I have tried many food items, such as ravioli, manicotti, fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti, lasagna, pizza, sandwiches, bread, antipasto salad. All had great flavor, large portions, and filling. There are many menu items and large enough to share. There are desserts, alcohol/wine, drinks available. The place is on the older side, but it is clean, and gives a home style vibe. My wife claims this is the pizza she remembers them making at the CV one and why it was their spot. Needless to say, despite the greater distance from our home, we have a new pizza place. The crust is superior, as in is eat it on its own. The cheese tastes like cheese. The toppings are plentiful and tasty. Service was good, friendly efficient staff in the front of house. The food was always consistently good, on par with the little Italy location. The kitchen needs to be shown that less is more. The pizza was drowning in cheese, the antipasto salad had a different dressing with almost no flavor, the salad was smaller and the ingredients that made it stand out were missing. I asked the server if they changed the salad dressing, they said it was the same as always. The fettuccine Alfredo sauce was thick as tar and it looked like someone poured a bucket of sauce on the plate also there was a hair in the Alfredo sauce . It appears there have been some changes in the kitchen and the kitchen staff may be trying to improve the food by drowning everything in cheese and sauce. The lasagna was also too cheesy, it overpowered the taste of the meat sauce and it may have been missing a layer of noodles. In the future I will make the longer drive to little Italy. If I was to drive only rate the kitchen it would be one or two stars for the food. We were seated quickly - that's where the best part of the review was. They didn't appear busy, but maybe our server had several tables in various parts of the restaurant. Anyway, the initial drink order was take , then about 10 minutes later we received our drinks. Then we had to flag down the server to eventually take our order. Eventually the food came out. The best part of the food was the garlic bread with cheese. The pasta was over cooked, the marinara sauce wasn't to our taste, the meat ravioli filling was okay but the pasta was really soft and overcooked. I love Filippis food. However, during today's visit the wait staff was just not attentive. We had to flag down the bus boys to get more water and carry out boxes. We had to ask a different server to get our check because our server had not checked back with us to ask if we needed anything else, or if we needed our check. Service was very dis-jointed.
