If you have a long layover I highly suggest making your way over to the Cubs Bar and Grill to grab a couple drinks and a Chicago dog! Our flight kept getting delayed and we had a meal voucher from the airline so we were happy to see that this restaurant accepted the airline vouchers! We ordered a couple of Chicago hot dogs and some beers to relax while we watched some recaps on the TV. The bartender was great! He kept checking up on us and made sure we didn't need any refills. We hung out for a bit after we closed our tab and we're never rushed out. I really appreciated that! They have a dining area too so I put can sit down and have a meal if you didn't want to sit at the bar. I tried a tuna panini there. HUGE mistake! The sandwich was served cold, cheese wasn't even melted. The tuna filling was an a concoction which was mostly mayonnaise. Simply awful. Yikes. It's been a minute since I threw down an ol' 1 star review, but I need to give the shout to all my fellow travelers to choose otherwise if you're in Terminal 3. I'm sure other options will top this - I just happened to be looking for a quick drink and a tasty bite because my flight was leaving soon from a very nearby gate. Ack. The menu was a little disappointing for the prices but that's to be expected with airport food, I get it. The things that rubbed me the wrong way went above and beyond pricing, however. 1. I asked the gentleman, who I must give credit for running the bar and the tables, for a Cosmopolitan. I oftentimes make sure they know it's vodka, a little cran, and triple sec. He seemed to know what it was but promptly told me it would be TWENTY-SIX $26!$ dollars for that. Umm. Okay, I'll take a White Claw instead. But cmon you know, $26? It's not that fancy of a cocktail in all reality. It's basically a vodka cranberry with a splash of TS. SMH! 2. I felt like I was being super rushed to make a decision about food, so I was like yeah fine, I'll take the BBQ wings. Oh lord have mercy. These suckers came out so drenched in BBQ, the plate was swimming and it had started to soften the bottom of the plate. It came with fries too, which I could not eat, but even had I wanted to, they were super dark and rock hard. At least throw some fresh fries if you're gonna drench the wings. The BBQ sauce flavor was good, I'll admit, but it was so overwhelming and a mess that I couldn't enjoy them. There were no wet wipes either so I'm just over here covered in a sticky mess. Yuck. I'm sorry guys, I just don't want you to pay like $35 for the most mediocre to bad experience of food, because if you're like me, you'd rather not eat in the airport than eat bad food that weighs you down and wastes calories. This rating/ review is for the location in O'Hare right near G gates. I ordered a cheeseburger. I was asked how I would like it prepared. I said medium and of course it came out like a hockey puck. The location itself is ok, spacious and comfortable enough. Service was somewhere just below airport average. I can't recommend this particular location. Food would need to significantly improve. Was in O'Hare to fly out and wanted to get some food. This is one of the few places that had plenty of seating and food options. The Food: All items are expensive but "priced" at an airport rate. So if that shocks you:.. stop:l. I got the Chicago dogs which comes with 2 dogs and fries and a green line goose island beer. The hot dogs were actually pretty good. It's hard to mess up a dog but the ingredients were good. The others at my table got the burgers and they were OK. It's a decent amount of food. One of the people at our table couldn't finish he burger because it was huge. We also came here because out of all the places, this sounded like the one that would have the best beer options... they only had 4 on draft and only 1 was a craft beer. All others were bottles. The Location: the place wasn't hard to find but one of the airport maps was wrong so walked the wrong way for a few minutes. After finding it, it was close the the bathroom and seating was ample. It's find your own seating which is nice. The Service: the staff was friendly and attentive. One guy looked confused when bringing the beers, he didn't know what table, and I asked for extra peppers on my dogs but they didn't add extra. In Terminal 3, my wife and were deciding between Chili's and O'Hare. We opted for O'Hare. We sat down at a nice table next to the window and reminisced about our 2 1/2 day trip to Chicago. (Awesome) I ordered a Budweiser to start while we ordered and chatted. I ordered the chicken and pear panini and a side Caesar instead of the fries and she didn't charge me extra. Plus one. Our server was super nice and checked on us often. My wife got the vegetable soup. After about ten minutes they came out and I quickly chomped on the pickle spear. Man, I love pickles, good stuff. The Caesar wasn't too goopy with dressing and had plenty on shredded Parmesan on top. It was iceberg lettuce, but what are you gonna do? My panini was lightly buttered on each side and had plenty of chicken and the pear flavor was pleasant, not overwhelming, but I could tell it was there. Nice size sandwich that filled me up since I had one McDonald's parfait in the morning and a can of sardines I had left over from Walgreen's for breakfast. About 300 total calories and we walked about 5 miles since we had breakfast, and after 40 minutes on the elliptical machine at the hotel, so I was running on fumes and getting sleepy from lack of calories. I ordered a second Bud to compliment the second half of my sandwich and it made for a great airport lunch. Very relaxing and overall a great lunch. My wife loved her vegetable soup bowl, it was pretty big for $5. For the two of us, it was $41 for 2 big beers, my sandwich, and the soup and tip, and tax. Not bad for an airport lunch away from the hoi polloi while we waited for our flight. On a side note, American Airlines sucks. We arrived 2 hours early and there was a flight leaving when we got there in a half an hour that would have gotten us home 1 1/2 hours early and they wouldn't even let us wait to see if the flight was full and we could sit in 2 extra seats if they had them. The gate attendant didn't want anything to do with us to help us out. They wanted $50 a piece just to get on the earlier flight. So you had extra spots obviously, but we couldn't wait around on standby? Man they suck. I would hit this place again, but we did notice a Macaroni Grill closer to the gate we would have gone to if we had known about it. read more

Traveling every week through O'Hare I eat breakfast at this establishment whenever I get the chance. I used to recommend them as the best breakfast in town! The important part of that phrase is used to!! Today I had several hours to squander in the airport but wasn't planning on spending my day waiting for service and my order after finally being able to order it. I only ended up here during my layover from Vegas to Michigan and I was completely hungry and I wanted to check out the latest Tim Tebow segment on Sportscenter. I originally had an older gentleman who gave me a menu, but then a couple minutes later a pretty distraught woman in her mid 20's just seemed to be disgusted by my presence in this facility ended up being my waitress. I don't think she spoke English well, or just didn't want to bother helping me out with an order, but I ended up paying $10 for 3 pieces of french toast and some fruit. The service was insanely slow and I literally watched my whole Tim Tebow 13 minute segment without getting any attention from the waitress in a near empty restaurant. Will not be back. While traveling to San Francisco, I had the pleasure of enjoying an 8 hour layover in O'Hare. Not the worst bit of news since it is Packer GameDay. A colleague and I were looking for a place to watch the game and enjoy our lengthy layover with some lunch and drinks throughout not only the game, but the rest of our layover. About an hour into our visit, we were discussing lunch and beer options when we were asked by our waitress to order now or leave. We stated that we were not ready to order at that time, but would be staying to hopefully catch the Packer game and purchase lunch and beer throughout the afternoon. We were told that if we were not going to order at that time that we would need to leave as they "need the tables" (There were about 20+ open tables at this time). We kindly got up, left, and are now spending our money elsewhere. For an airport meal my experience here was good! The breakfast options offer hearty servings that won't leave you hungry. I asked for a modified omelet and they were happy to oblige(tho I must note- there was barely anyone here at the time so it must have been easy to do) I got the vegetable omelet and it came with toast and homefries(potatoes). The omelet filled up half a plate and was tasty. The price was definitely reasonable and left me feeling ready to take on the second half of my travel day. If I pass though O'Hare again, I'd come back. On a green note- The straw was compostable!! I was so happy to see this because I usually don't like to take plastic straws, they feel like a waste. I've noticed a lot of comments about the service in the other reviews. To touch on that I'd say that service was fine. No complaints here. They were airing the FIFA cup games and it looked like a really chill place to be waiting for a flight. I got a bison burger! Yum, I don't see that available in many places. It was delicious and hit the right spot. The fries were meh. I tried to order a soup appetizer too but the server, who was this older man warned me that it was a large order and implied that I shouldn't order it. I guess I kind of look like someone that can't eat that much. In retrospect, I probably should have ordered the soup. For an airport meal, it wasn't too bad. Left a $1 tip on a 30 dollar bill. Got there around 9 pm and there was about 5 tables with customers. This lady waitress messed up my order, did not fill my water not once during the hour I spent there, did not respond to my multiple thank-you's n simply walked away everytime. There was a point between my first drink and my food where I think the server just forgot about me. It was about 15 minutes, that's pretty unacceptable. I saw her look at me, do the "oh shit" look, and go to the kitchen window and ask where my panini was. It magically appeared right after that. Sandwich was dismal, sounded good (chicken with pears), but it definitely had two halves of a bartlett pear from a can squished in (not even sliced). The chicken was dry and overspiced. Don't do it. There are so many better places to grab a bite. Service was poor, food worse. I ordered a Greek salad. Yikes. Iceberg lettuce, a smattering of regular olives (not Greek), shredded American cheeses and a tomato. No feta, no onions, no Greek olives, just some Greek dressing. I just gave up on it, it was so tasteless. My Mom ordered a three cheeses panini that was so dry, she couldn't eat it. There was such a thin layer of cheese that you couldn't really taste it. The only thing we all could eat we're the nacho chips (store bought). My husband didn't order a meal, just chips. We had a round of drinks and it was $70. I fly in and out of O'hare quite a bit and always find myself killing time at the O'Hare Bar & Grill. It's a nice open restaurant. If you get a table by the window you can watch the planes go in and out & get loaded. It's always so refreshing to see baggage handlers tossing around luggage like it's a football, warms my heart really. The service is always very quick and the bar & grill. On my last trip this week I got the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were huge and very fresh & good. This is prime spot also for people watching, which I'm quite a fan of. "Oh she looks like she's in a hurry" "what in the he!! is he thinking wearing those"......come on I know i'm not the only one. Ok so back to the Bar & Grill. The food is really good, typical pub fare for the most part. The prices are "eh", not the cheapest but they're for sure reasonable for being in an airport. I went to the front bar at this location for my layover , and the service was good staff was friendly. Had some good banter going on about how much wine to pour and that over pouring was OK since customers liked it. Flight was delayed so I walked over to the other bar to get a drink. Bar was full, but not busy thought it would take a second to get a drink. The bartender, who could really be Kenny Powers, was fixated on his favorite lawyer customer. Cleaned out her to go mug to make a drink for her flight. I admire the great, although illegal, service. His favorite customers food order came out and she didn't want fries so despite having multiple people waiting at this time he went to the kitchen to get that straight. Since I had a flight to catch and there were other thirsty patrons waiting I decided to leave. OK...as far as places to eat in airports in general I usually always decline. But considering that I usually am always delayed in Chicago due to my final destination being Marquette, MI. I would have to say that this place has excellent food for being inside a airport, granted the staff could be a little bit more courteous...maybe I was a bit bitter because the bartender was more googly eyed over the hottest chick at the bar then making sure my drink was tended too...and Christ I was only drinking corona's. Nice alternative to waiting to eat at Chili's or Wolfgang Puck's when waiting on a flight in Terminal 3. They have a variety of Summit beers to save you from the average tap swill. Recommend the Chicken Peach Panini sandwich; the first bite immediately brought me back to summers as a kid when we'd cook canned peach or apple pie filling in between two pieces of white bread over a campfire using those little cast iron pie makers. I've only been here in the early morning (before 8am), but their mimosas are always delicious, food is great and service is outstanding! All airport food is pricey but this place is actually decent.
