If you have status or you're flying business class through O'Hare International Airport with one of the OneWorld affiliate airlines (e.g. Qatar Airways), you can use this Flagship lounge by American Airlines. From the moment you step in, you're welcomed into a spacious and well-appointed retreat designed for premium travelers. The food selection is outstanding, with a variety of freshly prepared dishes that go far beyond standard airport lounge. The ambiance is both sophisticated and relaxing, with plenty of comfortable seating, quiet areas for work, and excellent views of the tarmac. The staff is attentive and ensures that everything is well-maintained and replenished. Overall, the Flagship Lounge at ORD is a top-tier experience, perfect for unwinding before your flight. If you have access, it's absolutely worth the visit!

Charcuterie and sushi

As a Delta loyalist I hardly ever get to experience other airlines premium lounges. On our current trip, Delta's pricing was much, much higher than British Airways so with their One World relationship with American, here we are! Both Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge guests check in at the same place and you're told to take the elevator to 2 if Flagship and 3 if Admirals Club. The Flagship Lounge is spacious with lots of comfortable seating. The real draw is the food and champagne. Eager in anticipation, I skipped breakfast today. We enjoyed sushi, ahi salad and meats from a large charcuterie display. We also kept the champagne flowing. They serve my favorite non vintage - Piper Heidsieck. I really don't like connecting at O'Hare but an oasis like the Flagship Lounge makes the journey all the more enjoyable

As a frequent flyer on American Airlines, I often find myself visiting Admirals Clubs before my flights at airports with an Admirals Club or a partner lounge. I have noticed several cities I fly through regularly have a Flagship Lounge tied to their Admirals Club, and I was always curious on what this lounge offers. I came across a pair of passes to the Flagship Lounge, and I finally had the opportunity to use one of them at the Chicago O'Hare Airport this past week, and my expectations were exceeded with the incredible food and drink options and amazing service from the team there. After receiving a pair of passes at the Admirals Club/Flagship Lounge check-in area between the H and K concourses, I pressed the elevator button for the Flagship Lounge. While anyone can stop on the floor, there is a staff member permanently posted just off the elevator to check for passes. Anyone who should be going to the Admirals Club is pointed that way. Walking into the Flagship Lounge, I saw plenty of different types of seating areas (lounge area, tables, quiet area, and more) and various areas for food and drinks. In one end of the lounge, there is a hot buffet line of food (serving coriander roasted chicken, cabernet braised beef, herb seared salmon, calabasitas, sumac roasted eggplant, and rosemary roasted fingerling potatoes just to name a few of that day's specials) and a separate cold buffet line of food (curried roasted cauliflower, green goddess chicken avocado salad, prosciutto mozzarella tartine, house made sushi, market crudite, cheese board, and charcuterie just to name a few) along with an additional Chef's Table area, which had chicken scallopine being prepared and later some sort of shrimp dish. Desserts offered included a Nutella crepe, pecan chocolate squares, and a toffee date caramel cake. There were also soups offered. But that wasn't it. There was also a hot chocolate bar, Bloody Mary bar, any kind of alcohol you can imagine, plenty of non-alcoholic beverages, whole fruits, dried fruits, churros, and other snack food, and other surprises along the way. There was certainly plenty for anyone! And everything was included in the cost of the Flagship Lounge. There are currently Flagship Lounges in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, and soon to be lounges in Philadelphia and London. To access the lounge, you either have to be flying a qualifying flight (labeled as a Flagship Business ticket), utilizing your elite status (with a certain status when flying a qualifying international route on a Oneworld airline or a certain status of other Oneworld airlines), or purchasing access (for $150 or 15,000 Advantage miles per person or selecting lounges as a AAdvantage Loyalty Point Reward as I did). Now, there is also Flagship Dining, which is an entirely different tier than Flagship Lounges and Admirals Clubs. I have not yet tried that, but that would be another experience and a separate review when that happens one day. I can't wait to return to a Flagship Lounge again!!

Garlic rice with paneer manchurian, roasted carrots, and a mushroom farro salad. Pretty good for lounge food.

This lounge ended up being a haven for us during our layover. It also lessoned the blow after being hit with a 24 hour flight delay to Paris. The amenities here were definitely needed. Way better than the lounges I've been to in the past. Well, the British Airways lounge in London is somewhat comparable. It's located in Terminal 3 between Concourse H and K. The Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge share the same entrance and reception area. The Flagship Lounge is on the 2nd floor. We were granted access as travelers with Business Class tickets on a qualifying International flight. I don't even know how much it would cost otherwise. All I can say is that it was worth it. Especially after visiting it for 3 days straight. My husband loved the private shower area. Yes, there's nothing better than a cool shower when your blood is starting to boil. The shower suites are definitely hidden. I would have never known it was there. They give you a key to enter. There is a Dyson hair dryer. How cool is that? I'm thinking that the ladies of the world would appreciate knowing this juicy tidbit. There's also a specialty cocktail bar as well as a wine bar for those who would rather drink their sorrows away with long flight delays. I didn't see a bartender, but I suppose you can adjust the alcohol to your liking. I saw craft beer, and other canned drinks near the coffee machine. There are non alcoholic sodas, juices, and flavored sparkling waters. My drink of choice was the San Pellegrino Essenza sparkling water. The lemon zest flavor was really good. The food was also pretty good for an airport lounge. There is a station where you can get a freshly made omelet for breakfast. At lunch & dinner it turns into a Chicago Italian beef sandwich station. My husband chose that station more frequently than the buffet. I enjoyed the garlic fried rice, paneer Manchurian, roasted carrots and potatoes, as well as the mushroom and faro salad. The fresh tropical fruit salad in the morning was also a good choice. The desserts satisfied that sweet tooth craving. As for the atmosphere, it was quiet and comfortable. Unlike being in the hustle & bustle of a very busy Terminal 3. I think the only time that the lounge wasn't full to capacity was in the morning and the evening. It was a full house after noon when we first arrived. We ended up sitting all the way in the back past the resting area with reclined lounge seats. There is a quiet area as well (a no phone zone). Just about every seat had a plug and/or charging port for those who need to stay connected on their electronic devices. The real reason for the 5 star review is for the great service provided throughout our visits. The staff were all polite and friendly. Especially this one young lady who cleared out our plates. She would brighten my day with her beautiful smile. She saw us there on the 3rd day and was so sympathetic to our situation. The same goes for the AA & British Airways reps at the Flagship counter. They went the extra mile to get our cancelations sorted out, a new flight booked back to Tampa, and provided hotel and food vouchers. They even coordinated with getting our bags pulled from the delayed flight and transferring them to the newly booked flight. We had no problems receiving our luggage when arriving in Tampa. The Flagship Lounge really got us through a very bad situation. Highly recommended!

This was my first time traveling through an airport with a Flagship Lounge since I made the status to access, so call me green but I was swooning over it. I had a late night departure to London and it was practically empty (hugely facilitated my picture-taking!) After a domestic first class flight and saving room for dinner in Flagship Business to come, I didn't want to eat a ton so the little portions/self serve format lended itself nicely to being able to still taste several things. I loved the farro and mushroom salad and the orrecchiete mushroom bolognese, and the sushi was way better than expected. Cookie sandwiches and pastry dessert with whipped cream good as well. The beverage selection, alcoholic and non, was abundant. I wasn't drinking alcohol and still enjoyed a variety: NA beer, a flavored sparkling water, and complimentary water bottle. Staff was the perfect mix of attentive while just letting me be and enjoy. A huge part of this experience I really appreciated was how quiet and how much space I had to myself compared to some Admirals Clubs where you almost feel like you're in the general airport waiting area (but with a bar of picked-over food). From a cleanliness perspective it was pretty spotless although maybe the restrooms could have been a touch cleaner. I lived in Chicago for 6 years previously so I can't believe I'm saying, I can't wait until I fly through O'hare again!

Great way to watch the planes go by

Having a few cocktails before we head off to Barcelona! Greeted at the door with complementary champagne is a wonderful way to start off trying to get five stars! From there we can move onto the complementary buffet that covers everything from sushi to beef with chimichurri sauce, sliced by a chef. Complementary pastry bar, full alcohol bar, and as many sodas, you can possibly imagine at the mix your own drink machine! The lounge is large and airy with a modern vibe. Services is efficient keeping the entire lounge, spotless Complementary Wi-Fi and business center allows folks on the run to get their work completed. A lovely way to relax before you get on a long overseas flight.

This particular American Airlines flagship lounge is located inside Chicago O Hare Airport (ORD). I don't normally fly with American Air, but when I do, it's almost guaranteed I'll take advantage of their lounge. They have quiet resting areas, showers (pre-COVID), coffee/tea machines, tons of healthy food options, more snackies, and a little bar with more food & drinks. Tis heaven for me before flying. With COVID restrictions in place, everything was individually packed, as opposed to the regular buffet style. During lunchtime, there were healthy options like cheeses and fruits, as well as arugula salad, caprese salad, edamame salad, and much more. During dinner time, there was a station where someone would make you homemade guac to order, and you can add whatever toppings you like. There were other soup options as well as more hot foods during dinner. You won't get bored. I loved all the friendly workers here on this particular day. I was able to have access to the AA lounge in John Wayne airport (SNA) as well after my arrival. Food, amenities, services are all great and all, but I particularly love the people you meet for the first time & can casually chat with to keep you company for a few hours before your flight. Def recommend!

There are four Framery privacy pods. Two with adjustable seats and desk tops and two without seats in a stand up desk configuration. These pods are quiet and have charging capability (1 USB-C and 1 115V). Overhead lighting is fully adjustable along with the front facing lighting for video conference calls. There is also an adjustment for the ventilation fan however I have found that, even on the highest setting, they can get warm. There are most of the same food options as the F9 location but on a smaller scale. There are self-serve options for soft drinks and coffee. In lieu of a tended bar, there is a self-serve bar with an assortment of juices, wines and beers. Like most United Clubs, there isn't a whole lot of interaction with the staff. That said, they all seem friendly enough and this location is clean and well maintained. Would I go back? I've actually been to this location a few times now and like it. So far, it's a quieter alternative to some of the other locations.

There are different seating arrangements including phone booth like cubes for more private phone conversation. The reason this lounge was designed as such a large space is due to the fact that there's a lot of people in here. That's just something to keep in mind as a basis for your understanding. In terms of design, this lounge has various types of seating. They have the more comfortable chairs located throughout the various rooms at this lounge. They also have numerous seats that are associated with tables. This is probably best for people like myself, who enjoyed grabbing a quick snack, and having a drink, before it's time to board the aircraft. They also have long desks with charging ports set up for those who want to get some work done. Plus, there are some self-standing seats spread out throughout the lounge area. In terms of food offerings, they have food buffets on two ends of the lounge. Both of these buffets offer a unique blending of Quick-Food, as I like to call it. Is pretty good. I will say, that I've never been disappointed in what they offer. You can always find something to suit your pallet. In terms of drinks, they have drink offerings at both ends of the lounge, as well, in association with the food buffets. There, you can get your expected soft drinks, coffee, and water. If you want alcoholic beverages, you have to go down to the one end of the lounge, where they have a bar. There, they generally have two bartenders. Each of which is happy to give you whatever you want. They often mix drinks, beers, wine, and all that kind of stuff. Many of the drinks are all free. But, if they are, be sure to throw the bartenders a tip. I think that's an important gesture. Some people decide to sit along the bar while they enjoy their drinks. I guess they are just type of people who enjoying hanging out at bars. I don't find out all that comfortable, or appealing, as you're basically elbow-to-elbow with somebody, you don't really know. But, that's just my personal opinion. If I have one complaint about this lounge, it's the fact that it's not really set up for the first class domestic passengers on United. Whereas, is you are flying internationally on United, they use the Star Alliance lounges that are specifically designed for its first and business class passengers. In terms of this lounge, pretty much anybody can get into it, simply by paying a sixty dollar fee. Thus, you get a whole lot of people, Just overwhelming space, without a lot of decorum. Overall, I've been in much better lounges, and I've been in a lot worse lounges around the globe. There's not much to complain about this place, you just have to expect that there's gonna be a lot of people. I have seen it at times midday, when people can't even find a single seat to sit in. So, just keep this in mind.

Note 1: This is for the United Club's B-concourse location…read more Note 2: Linux users: after connecting to WiFi: wifilogin.united.com. Could not go to any website without going here first. This is my first experience with an airport lounge, and frankly, I could get used to this! That said, while markedly nicer than waiting by the gate, the experience wasn't perfect. There is free food, coffee, and Coke products available. The food involved a hot entree, a couple sandwiches, soups, salads, snacks, nibbles, and desserts. There is also coffee, espresso beverages, and a Coke machine. The quality of the items was adequate. Since airports aren't usually gourmet destinations, I happily devoured everything on my plate. Happy that one is not relegated to McDonald's and can opt for something healthier.a Speaking of which, while you are free to go up as many times as you wish, the plates and cups are very small, needing several visits for those like myself, who have a black hole within their stomachs. Perhaps this is to encourage people to keep their goodies in the lounge, rather than take 16oz coffee cups onto planes. It would still be nice to have larger plates, so I save my steps for the terminals rather than making repeated trips to the buffet... especially since I don't want to leave my property unattended. In terms of the lounge itself, everything was very clean. There is ample seating, and there should be a spot available, but expect to share the lounge with many others. While both the armchairs and [high] chairs are firmer than I'd like, they do beat out terminal seating overall. Also, while not needed by me, I respect that they have "phone rooms" for those who may need to take a private phone call or attend a work meeting. A private room is more for you, though, as the lounge is more chill, without the hustle and bustle of the terminal. Finally, there are plenty of outlets throughout, and the WiFi is faster by miles. All the staffers in the lounge, from those who check you in, to the bartender, to those keeping everything bussed and clean were fantastic! I was about to dust my hands off and leave four stars... that was until I realized that they have an open bar! There's nothing like starting a trip with a drink to get in the mood. Sure, it isn't really free being included with the ticket price, but if I'm already paying for airfare, not having to pay $20 for a small and weak drink is a phenomenal bonus. Last but certainly not least are the restrooms: These were much cleaner and nicer than the rest of the airport. Think of a nicer mall as opposed to "airport." Final verdict: I can now see why lounge access is such a wonderful perk of either non-economy seats or certain credit cards. I love airports because of my love for travel and airplanes, not so much everything else. The United Club is great for making that which stands between TSA and being in the air more pleasant.
