Bacon was burnt, butter was frozen, Guinness was good and on tap but in plastic cup. Scrambled eggs were ok as were the potatoes wedges. Servers were good. It is a place to drink by the gates but skip the breakfast IMHO. Maybe lunch is better. read more

I ordered food at the counter and when I asked someone to clean the table they told me I had to purchase an alcoholic beverage to sit? Very interesting when there were several people sitting with no beverages. Food was over priced and service was disappointing. The cashier was very kind though. We had an hour and a half layover in ORD, so had time to sit at a restaurant to eat lunch. This restaurant is small, but had seating at the bar so we snagged our chairs while we could. We both got cheeseburgers and fries. Surprisingly, the food came out in just a few minutes, apparently recognizing that airport customers don't have much time to wait. The food was piping hot, and the fries in particular were hot and crunchy right out of the fryer. We both cleared our plates, surprised to find such a good meal in an airport. Would definitely eat here again should the opportunity arise. read more

*UPDATED NOVEMBER 13, 2023* Ricardo!! Superb service. My husband and I had a few hours before our very long overseas flight, and were ravenous and thirsty. We ended up in the same O'Hare terminal as we have been in recent flights. We wandered through the terminal and I just knew that we were going with the old reliable standby O'Brien's. We were fortunate to grab a small high top two-seater table where we could do some people-watching and also see the TVs. I was hoping to see the awesome Marcos but his shift was not starting yet. That's OK because we got RICARDO who was just as amazing. Hustling, friendly, laughing, providing excellent table service to all around us. Seriously just having a great time and I appreciated his enthusiasm as we were preparing ourselves for a horrid flight. I asked Ricardo for a nice dry white wine and he came over with the bottle, made a joke about leaving the bottle (maybe he could see the dread in my face about the long flight coming up, haha) The wine is nice and crisp, cold, yes a bit overpriced.. but it is 1) Chicago and 2) O'Hare airport. What do you expect? I would rather give my money to O'Brien's than the other places in the airport. Service is always with a smile here. He asked for our drink orders, and brought us ice water right away. We ordered our food from him. Ricardo was on top of everything. Our food came out right away, nice and hot. My husband has a new obsession with their Chicago hot dogs and he has not been disappointed yet. I got the fish and chips as there really isn't anything else meat-free on the menu other than plain French fries. The fish n chips were OK and just enough until our in-flight meal. This establishment is always clean and tidy, very kind and attentive servers. Next time I am flying out of this terminal this will be the first place I go. Whatever you expect from an airport bar - this is that, in a good way. The servers were friendly and worked hard at keeping things clean. The drinks were good and the food was....food. I had the cheese sticks out of starvation and while they aren't the best I've ever had, they were far from the worse. In this part of the airport there's not a ton of options, O'Briens is a solid contender if your looking for good service and a clean bar. read more

A pleasant surprise at ORD. Yes, you're on the edge of an airport food court, so the ambiance is a food court. But the staff here seems to genuinely care about their product and customer service. They may never see you again, but they treat you like you're a regular. Marco, in particular, was welcoming and attentive. They totally can do the "I have only a few minutes to my flight" quick service, but luckily, we had a little more time to spend. We had Chicago dogs that were very good and the real deal. We also had perfectly poured Guinness. I'm surprised that this location is now on my list of places to stop in an airport. See you the next time through! read more

Stopped at O'Briens during our layover in Chicago. It was good and did the job. When I think of airport food I have varying criteria based on the time of my layover. Quicker layover involves quicker food and O'Briens delivers on that. It may come at the cost of the freshness of some of the meat, but it was simple, enjoyable and delivered. They put the ketchup and mayo on the side with packets, which is nice to determine how much you want. Likely speeds up the overall process. For airport food it's always more expensive than you would like but certainly fair given everything in an airport is typically inflated. Service was fast and smooth and one gentleman was really pushing the drinks, through attempted charm towards all customers and if that's what he is encouraged to do that's great! If not, it's simply not what I prefer as a customer but I know philosophies are different everywhere. In short, it's an easy quick pick at the airport! Enjoy!! read more

I ordered a hand carved turkey sandwich with cheese. It was so bland I threw it away. The turkey absolutely was not hand carved, it was soaking wet and had zero flavor. They charged me extra for the cheese and forgot to put it on the sandwich. There was definitely a language barrier, I had to ask him to repeat himself a few times and still didn't understand what he was saying. I stopped by this location in the HK Food Court of O'Hare Airport Terminal 3 on Friday April 1st during a layover. The line was the shortest and the staff was friendly and efficient. I was able to order, pay and receive my food in well under 5 minutes. I ordered the Chicago Style hot dog and my boyfriend got the same with cheese added and fries. The buns were HARD, but the dog itself was juicy and flavorful with a good amount of toppings. It was just right for these two weary travelers. We also got a bottled water and a V8 splash. Wayyy overpriced and food is mediocre at best. If you're willing to spend the money they're asking, go anywhere else and at least get full.

Was a little iffy because it looked mostly sandwich's. Which at the airport is going to be expensive for what you get. I got the steak sandwich and it was amazing! You get the full steak throu out the sandwich. Also the bartender was extremely sweet and nice. Welcoming to come sit down and helpful with any suggestions needed. It's pricing but what can you expect in an airport? The steak sandwich is worth it. There also a much of grab and go items if your in a hurry. read more

We ordered it WELL DONE and it came out raw and inedible. When I took it back up to the Worker, she looked at me and with the rudest tone said " she did not care" such a disappointing experience. Not at all a bad thing. I was impressed that you could get a three egg omelet (with ham, and a some veggies) for about $12.50. Comes with tasty non-greasy potatoes, and even toast. At an Airport? That's pretty darn reasonable. And, at least as noteworthy, is the omelet itself was filling and substantial in a good way. So many other choices around the airport seem to be $18 sandwiches, $16 salads. This is an airport, I get it. You should expect to be gouged. I felt that O'Brien's actually avoided this trap, and for that, I'm grateful. Would this omelet ever be mistaken for something at Lou Mitchell's in Chicago? Of course not. But, that's not what they're trying to do here. Also, I gotta give some love to the staff here. The two or three folks I worked with with were helpful and nice to deal with. I'm sure the see quite a parade of harried fliers who have some basic needs with limited time. And though it wasn't crazy busy when I got to O'Brien's, there was definitely plenty of customers, and the staff kept it all moving just great. read more
