They were a recommended vendor by our wedding venue/coordinator, Christmas House Inn & Gardens, and we're glad we went with them. The entire process was seamless from beginning to end. From setting up an appointment, going in and sampling different flavors, placing our custom order, to seeing the reveal on our big day! We chose a four-tiered cake with alternating layers of a rich red velvet (my favorite) and napoleon chocolate. It was to die for, and an absolutely stunning cake at that. I drove an hour to have an in-person consultation with this cake company to discuss the specifics of my "custom" wedding cake. During the meeting we agreed that I would receive a semi-iced cake with our initials written on the side, similar to initials carved into a tree or bench, etc. I brought pictures and she even drew up a cake to demonstrate that she understood my idea. I was assured that this would be an easy project for them, and I left the meeting feeling confident in their abilities. The cake that was delivered on my wedding day was covered in SOLID white icing, and the initials looked like they were scratched in with a toothpick as an afterthought. I actually had several guests asking me if I just did the cake myself. Nothing about it looked professional or custom, and it was definitely not what was in my signed contract. The snickerdoodle cupcakes were delicious, which is why I'm giving the one star. However, the most important part of my order was my wedding cake, which was completely botched. I was extremely disappointed because this company has beautiful cake pictures and wonderful reviews for their 3-4 tier cakes. I honestly believe my cake was done at the last minute and incorrectly because of my low guest count. Maybe they put in more effort for larger cakes? Save your time and money and DIY. **Edit Even after reading my review and seeing the photos, Eileen from Cuckamonga Cakery swears they took "pride" in the cake they made. In response to my review, she takes no responsibility for the fact that they did not follow my design in the first place. She has instead offered to make a second cake for me. The question is: Why would I trust them to make a second one if they swear they got the first design right? They see nothing wrong with the quality of cake they delivered, so how could I trust them to get it right a second time? People only bother paying for a custom wedding cake for the pretty photos on their wedding day. However, my wedding day is over and the photos have been taken already. Wow! I was looking for a bakery to order a special cake for my father-in-law's birthday. So many people recommended Cucamomga Cakery so I had to check it out. The staff is so nice and willing to answer questions. They are patient and knowledge. And great artists! My artist suggested a marble cake with whipped filling, as I wanted chocolate. I didn't know how to decorate it, so she made a sketch of a dripped cake with lots of edible decorations. I loved it! I was in awe when I picked up the cake. Gorgeous! My pastry chef daughter (who lives in Florida) cousin it stop commenting on the exquisite beauty of the cake. When we sliced into it, the marbling was gorgeous! The cake is light and moist and lightly sweet. The filling was creamy and light, again not too sweet. The outer frosting hits your sweet tooth! My father-in-law loved his cake! My daughter selected Cucamonga Cakery as the wedding cake baker. I will say right off the bat that they make a terrific wedding cake !! The cake itself gets an easy FIVE stars. It's moist, dense, and my favorite part, ultra flavorful, and it was absolutely gorgeous to look at. When we went for the cake tasting, we tried several flavors. My personal favorite was their snickerdoodle, but my daughter and her (then) fiance' chose one cake to be bavarian creme and the other cake was pink champagne. I loved the bavarian creme, but the champagne, just not my personal favorite. Nothing against the flavor or the bakery... just not my cup 'o tea. Ironically, at the wedding, I didn't get any cake. Kinda disappointed about that, but that was my doing. It was so very pretty, and I would have loved to have eaten some. I'm just grateful I got to taste it back in November. They do fantastic cake work, and I thought they were, hands down, much better than Some Crust Bakery, the other cake vendor that Wedgewood recommends. Cucamonga Cakery also prepared our dessert table, in which my daughter had selected brownies, fruit tarts, cheesecake, 3 types of cookies and macarons. Unfortunately, while it all looked appetizing, I actually thought this was sub-par. For a cake baker of that caliber, I expected the same in terms of non-cake items. I will say, though, my children raved about the macarons, so I will leave those out of the equation. However, I did try the brownies and other dessert table goodies. As a baking business, I didn't think I would have to question or even think these were anything other than baked from scratch. Yet, I would bet money the brownies were made from a Ghirardelli brownie mix...... they had that "mix" aftertaste. I not only know that taste well, but I refuse to ever bake another brownie from a mix because of it. It's incredibly off-putting.... and this place seemingly tried to pass their brownies off as their own product !! Just because they were beautifully decorated, and just because they added chocolate chips, it still tasted just like a mix. I was not happy. Then, with the fruit tarts...... MY idea of a fruit tart is not a flimsy, cardboard-tasting, store-bought mini pie crust, nor is it canned fruit filling. I am pretty certain they took canned blueberry filling and dumped it into the crust, and I could definitely see there was not much in each crust, but the proof was upon tasting it. Same with their "lemon and blueberry" tart...... the same tasteless pie crust, that horrible gelatinous store bought lemon filling, again not even filling the tart, and 2 token blueberries. It was dreadful. For the sake of argument, let's say I'm wrong, and it was all scratch made. Then why were those products flavorless? Moving on to what they called "gourmet cookies." They were really large; they were even pretty. These were okay. I honestly couldn't tell if these were from scratch or not. I guess they were, but they didn't taste all that incredible. I'd say they were good, but no better than that. As for the cheesecake, they were very pretty, but I didn't taste them, so I can't and won't comment. The bottom line is this.......almost everything was left at the end of the evening...... had their other baked items been really good to great, I guarantee you that word of mouth would have spread, and people would have said, "oh you must try this" or "make sure you try the _______." Everyone raved about the dinner food. Everyone raved about the cake, but NOBODY said ONE word about the dessert table items, AND....... almost all of the sweets were left..... and that is how I got to try most of them. I was sorry I did. I will give this 2 stars. My other complaint is how difficult they are to contact in the beginning. They are not a regular bakery. They only deal with clients by appointment, and their appointment hours are extremely limited. This makes is very difficult to do business with them. While it did work out in the end, it stressed us out when initially attempting to set it all up. Plus, they seemed very rigid in what they were willing to do...... or not do....... and it was just very uncomfortable until they met with us. Oh, and while they will do CAKE tastings, they refused to let us taste their dessert table items - it doesn't even matter why they don't, but just that they don't, and I'm now sorry we couldn't because I would have voted that part down in a heartbeat. Well, at least the cake was a winner, but I wish some aspects turned out differently. If you want a great cake, and I do mean great, you will not be disappointed as long as you are willing to put up with their odd, if not off-putting ways of dealing with their customers. I just did not find them to be customer-friendly until my daughter booked with them...... but once that happened, it became much easier. We were not satisfied. I paid $475 for a small cake 5-7-10 for 50 people, I didn't mind paying that much because I was told it was one of the best. On the date of the delivery, they got there with a white plane cake I was providing the flowers because I wanted my cake to match my centerpieces. They were supposed to have a red ribbon for the cake they did not put anything, they didn't wait for me to bring the flowers from the refrigerator and they left without putting the cake together. Unprofessional that they couldn't wait for a couple of minutes for me to get them the flowers they just left a white cake in the table. The hotel staff where I was getting married thankfully fixed their mess. I was really upset and woul to recommended these people anyone I know how much I paid and I soon I figure out how to post the picture of what you left as a weeding cake in my table, I will do it for you to know there was no RED ribbon and the total price was 475 bad service you have and plus don't want to admit you did something wrong. read more

Our cake was included as part of our package with our venue. It was nice not having to do research and find my own bakery. We reached out about 5 months before our wedding to set up our cake tasting appt/consultation. I believe they gave us 4 different options (you don't get to choose but it didn't matter because they were all delicious). We ended up choosing a 3 tiered cake, each tier a different flavor. Bottom was snickerdoodle which is the most amazing and unique flavor ever, our guests were talking about it all night! Middle tier was chocolate brownie. And top tier was a classic red velvet. We just wanted to take a moment to give credit where it's due...we're so thankful that we found Cucamonga Cakery to make our cake for our wedding a year ago. We chose pink champagne with strawberry creme with a naked cake/beach design (see photos). Eileen met up with us for our consultation and while we had another Cakery lined up, our first meeting with her actually didn't make it difficult to choose them instead. The cake tasting was really what sold us because the flavors were all really good and the cakes were moist and perfect! Designing the cake was easy as Eileen helped sketch everything and put our vision into paper...Unfortunately on our wedding day, there was a mixup at the venue where they forgot to place our cake topper that we had custom made for our wedding. We were admittedly very upset as we didn't notice until after the cake was cut, and we were bummed we couldn't have it for our wedding photos/keepsakes. The cake itself, even without the topper, did not disappoint. It looked classy and elegant and our guests really loved the flavors. They even saved us slices to take home and we had some to take with us to our honeymoon! There were other things that went wrong with the venue that day so not having the topper was just an icing on top of everything else, and worse, the venue couldn't find our topper! I spoke with Eileen the next day still upset and sorted things out and instead of placing blame back and forth, we admired her for her professionalism and even owning up to the mix up. She offered to bake us a cake for our anniversary and Insisted even though we refused at first. I'm glad that we agreed because now a year later, the outcome was amazing! What's a better way to celebrate your wedding anniversary other than sharing your frozen wedding cake? Celebrating your wedding anniversary with a freshly baked cake made with the same flavors and design as the one you had at your wedding! Our initial contact was via email to be sure they had our date available since it was less than 6 months out. Eileen and Georgine were prompt, professional and extremely helpful. I called to schedule our tasting and they were very accommodating since I was having surgery they squeezed us in without any hassle. Meeting with Kathy was such a pleasure! She was knowledgeable, funny and SO PATIENT with our crazy cake. The designer was also on hand to discuss pertinent details. We loved the flavors, design and the service so we signed the contract right then. We also added NASCAR and Peace Sign cookies to enhance our candy station. No need to go elsewhere! Over the next few months I would call with questions or stop by to get samples of other flavors we hadn't tried. Eileen stopped what she was doing and went over ribbon colors with me for the cookie bags, discussed tags, etc...Made me feel special each and every interaction as a Bride to be should be treated! The bottom 2 layers of our cake were traditional beautiful design(marble and pink champagne) but the top layer was designed after an old school elevator (red velvet). As an event planner I'm always trying to find great bakeries to work with. I was very impressed with Cucamonga Cakery for several reasons. a) Diane was a huge help with guiding me through the design of two cakes that I ordered b) Both cakes were gorgeous c) Both cakes were delicious One of the cakes that I ordered was for my MBA graduation, and the second cake I ordered was for my Client's surprise 50th Birthday party. All of my guests raved about my cake and couldn't believe how "life like" it looked (the cake was two books stacked on top of each other). The bottom layer of the cake was red velvet with cream cheese filling and the top layer was pink champagne with strawberry cream filling. Absolutely delicious. My Client's Mardi Gras themed cake was also a huge hit. The bottom layer was carrot cake with cream cheese filling and the top layer was chocolate cake with chocolate mouse filling. Some of the negative aspects of the bakery were that the prices were a bit more expensive than other bakeries that I've worked with. I also wish they would have been able/wiling to delivery the cakes, it was a huge inconvenience to have to pick up the cakes on my own, especially with time constraints. This is the bakery that is used by the Christmas House Inn in their wedding packages. My hubby and I went in to sample the cakes and they were pretty good, not great but pretty good. They had some interesting flavors like pink champagne cake...not one of my faves...but certainly unique. We had a three tier cake, each tier was different. We had carrot cake with a cream cheese filling, citrus cake with lemon filling and my fave amaretto cake with an almond raspberry filling. All of the tiers were light for our mid September evening wedding...and everyone seemed to like them. The bakery is family owend by a group of sisters...and if you have ever read any of my reviews, you know that I am a sucker for home grown family, local businesses. All of the gals in there are helpful, willing to give suggestions as well as listen to yours and if changes have to be made...willing to work with you. The only issue I have is that the cake was pretty good...my socks weren't knocked off.....my wedding cake does not go down in history as one of my five most memorable cakes that I have ever eaten ...but...I have to be honest....I did have a lot of prosecco on my wedding day so by the time it was cake time....I was well lit...so to speak. They also do all occasion cakes....once when I was in the bakery, a baby shower cake was being boxed. It was a large cake, shaped like one JUMBO cupcake. The top was as if a rubber ducky was in a bubble bath....super cute.....I would give them a try for a birthday party....I mean why not....it's good to support local businesses. 3.5 stars read more
