We recently ordered a custom cake from Mr. Baker for a bridal shower, and it turned out absolutely gorgeous and delicious! This was not our first time ordering from Mr. Baker we usually stop in and pick cakes straight from the display case but this was our first custom cake experience, and it was so easy from start to finish. When we went into the bakery, we were given a card with the email address and told to email the baker directly. I emailed that Saturday while still in the store, and by Sunday morning I already had a response from Victoria. She was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process! I sent her inspiration pictures, and she quickly provided three different quote options. All of the inspiration cakes I sent included fresh flowers, and Victoria explained that we would need to bring our own flowers to the bakery the Friday before pickup so they could safely place them on the cake the next morning. Everything went smoothly, and when we arrived to pick up the cake, it looked absolutely stunning! The flowers we brought in were beautifully arranged, and the entire cake looked elegant and professionally done. We ordered vanilla cake with buttercream and their Strawberry Chiffon flavor, and both were AMAZING. Everyone at the bridal shower kept talking about how delicious the cake was! So many guests had never heard of Mr. Baker before and wanted to know where the cake came from that we actually brought extra business cards and handed them out during the shower. I was looking for a place to grab a drink and a treat after work when I discovered Mr. Baker right down the street. I ordered a strawberry matcha latte, an almond croissant, and a strawberry croissant (for my sister). Two employees were working, and the service was very kind. However, I found the quality of the drink and food to be mediocre. The strawberry matcha was decent and visually appealing, but aside from its cute appearance, nothing stood out in terms of taste. My almond croissant was hard to bite into. This was disappointing as it was flavorful. I'm not sure if it was because I went in the afternoon, but I had to bite and chew harder than expected. I recently visited Mr. Baker and had a mixed experience. I ordered the tiramisu latte, and unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The flavor was very watered down and didn't have the rich coffee and tiramisu taste I was expecting. On the positive side, I also tried the confetti cake slice and the carrot cupcake, and both were delicious. The cake was moist, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of my visit. The pastries seem to be the best part . The café itself is very spacious with plenty of indoor seating, making it a comfortable place to relax or meet up with friends. There is also outdoor seating available, which is a nice option on a pleasant day. Overall, while I wasn't impressed with the tiramisu latte, I really enjoyed the desserts. I needed a cake last minute for a coworker's birthday and stopped by on a Friday morning. Thankfully the line wasn't too bad. I picked the strawberry cake and they were able to write a simple birthday message on it for me. The young lady who helped me was really nice and helpful. I also got a plain croissant, which was pretty good. Everyone at work enjoyed the cake. The strawberries tasted fresh, the cake itself was light, and the whipped cream frosting was just sweet enough without being too much. Place needs to be cleaned asap. Patio needs to be power washed, windows cleaned. The customer service lacked and wasn't welcoming. I come here regularly during the Saturday Farmer's Market. Nice patio to hide from the sun under! The DRINKS: The coffee is good. The matcha latte is good. May need to ask for reduced sweetener, as I do. The Tiramisu latte is standout when you want something sweet to drink. They have a small selection of tea bags when you want to keep it simple. The BAKERY: High quality. Beautiful to look at and taste usually meets expectations. They have a chocolate cake slice - double chocolate - that is the best chocolate cake we've had around these parts. The rainbow cake and matcha cake are nice options. They honestly have a whole host of flavors that you just have to try until you get your fave. They have a whole assortment of pastries, tarts (nice option, but I've been disappointed in the crust). I don't recommend the drop cookies though (raspberry and sprinkles). They are hard and lack flavor. Service is always good. Not amazing but good. read more

I've been wanting to try this bakery for a while. I decided to go on a whim recently, and the desserts I chose were not bad at all. I ordered the strawberry croissant, and the red velvet cupcake. I'm not really into strawberries, but it was pretty, so I bought it. I took a bite big enough for me to taste it, and it was good, just not for ME, because, again, it was made of one of my least favorite fruits. I gave the remaining to my daughter who thought is it was really good. She's a gem at baked goods and cooking, might I add, so I'd take her word for it.. :) Now, Red velvet is my absolute favorite flavored cupcake. The problem is, it's complex and although I've had many, there has been only 3 in my lifetime that were pretty much perfect-one being here in CA. This one was perhaps slightly better than others I've tried, and worth the taste. Let me add, that the cream in the croissant, and the frosting on the cupcake was light, fluffy and delicious. Now that is where they excelled on MY visit. It's probably the first time I didn't feel the need to take some of it off of a cupcake. I also ordered a caramel latte, I'll just leave that there. Anyway, the customer service was good, and the restaurant is very nice. It's clean and well kept. The service was a little awkward no warm welcome even tho they were empty the employee was just standing in the front waiting for us to order. We got a tiramisu latte pumpkin cookie and pecan bar. The bar was great not overly sweet the cookie was nothing special not a lot of flavor but not bad for the coffee it's a little on the stronger side so if you like sweet I would ask for a few mods but it wasn't bad at all. We ended up sailing and being out most of the day, but the cake held up under those conditions. The stock decor was beautiful and my friends enjoyed the cake. We hate frosting so the buttercream was on point. Will definitely be back for future orders. Side note I got a matcha croissant when I picked up the cake that I didn't care for. I really liked this place. Stopped by in the late afternoon and found the cases about half empty. This was to be expected so no issue there.
