    Veal Parmesan
    Greg W.

Had a fantastic time! The service was a tad slow but the food was beyond excellent. The bread was so soft and cheesy and the Italian salad dressing was great. I got the pasta vongole which was wonderful and didn't use too many capers. My mom got the veal Parmesan and loved it! She got the risotto as well and it was one of the most creamy and cheesy things I've ever had. My dad got the spaghetti and meatballs and he liked the spaghetti but the meatballs were too dense for him but the spices were perfect. Overall a wonderful time with great food

Cucina Rustica is a quaint restaurant and banquet hall in Bainbridge. We stopped here on a whim, craving Italian on date night. There is very limited parking in the front of the restaurant, thus we parked in the back. Upon walking to the front entrance, we saw the back patio bar. We asked the hostess and were told abruptly to walk to the rear to seat ourselves. We sat at our table for a lengthy amount of time as several waitresses walked past without greeting us. Our waitress had a party of 14, who were regulars celebrating a special occasion. We were finally given menus and ordered drinks. We enjoyed a couple beers and the Reisling with the house bread as we patiently waited to order our food next. The house bread was very doughy with several Italian herbs. We ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and Penne Pasta Aglio and Oglio. I added chicken to the Penne Pasta Aglio and Oglio. Both entreés come with dinner salads. The Chicken Parmigiana comes with an additional side. He ordered Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The Chicken Parmigiana had two large breaded chicken cutlets with tomato sauce and provolone on top. The Penne Pasta Aglio and Oglio is penne pasta, broccoli, and sundried tomatoes tossed in herbs and olive oil. It was very delicious. Definitely would try Cucina Rustica again!

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night, (Valentine's Day) which is typically a very very busy night for restaurants. We were seated soon after arrival, and greeted by our server Sarah. I have to say I am a stickler for good service, and Sarah did not disappoint. She was friendly, knowledgeable, humorous, and attentive. We started with the calamari aglio olio. It was tender and had wonderful flavor. For me personally I would love a calamari dish that wasn't deep fried. But I wasn't sad I ate it lol. My husband had the eggplant Parmesan and I had cavatelli with marinara and meatballs. The meal was accompanied by delicious garlic bread We enjoyed everything! I would highly recommend this restaurant! I know my husband and I will be frequenting this establishment.

Unfussy place with solid Italian American fare. Great friendly service, and easy on the pocketbook.

Highlights: the carbonara was absolutely delicious!!! Creamy but not heavy. The peas were sweet and well seasoned. It gave me the impression the chef seasoned throughout cooking not just at the end. The chicken and waffles was also a win. Waffles were bouncy and soft, the homemade whipped cream was addicting. Chicken was crispy and moist. The spritz flight I was not a fan of. Reading the menu it made sense why it tasted more like a mimosa flight but I was expecting mint in the Hugo spritz and a things a little more elevated. At the same time it was such a good price so simple made sense but a tad too sweet for me. Next time I would rather order the spritz individually and see if it's any different. That all lends to a fun place to be. The service is always more than adequate. Our server last night was a very nice young man. Energetic, friendly, knowledgeable, effective. He did a great job all night. The floor manager seemed to be everywhere. Every time I looked up he was talking and laughing with customers. When I asked for something that was above our servers pay grade the manager quickly and kindly handled it with a smile. So I would definitely say the service was very good. But ... unfortunately we always end up at the same sticking point -- The food. I have never been impressed by the overall menu. The selection is limited and not very imaginative. Very limited meat and fish options. And the pasta is lacking... both in selection and quality. I ordered the "Carbonara" last night. And just like the "Cacio e Pepe" I had during my previous visit, it was lukewarm and stuck together like glue. To say the flavor was lacking would be kind. So, after several attempts, I think we're done. Which is extremely sad. With all they have going for them they could be fabulous, but alas they are not.

The space is dark and cozy and you'll forget all about the CVS outside by the time you sit down. The menu offers a nice variety of small plates, salads, sandwiches, entrees and pizzas. There are also cocktails, wine and a small but sufficient selection of beers on tap. The prices feel a couple dollars higher than you'd want them to be ($18 for a smash burger or a 12-inch pizza) but are comparable with similar restaurants in the area. My parents and I split the Medjool dates starter, Crunchy Greens salad and a mushroom pizza and all were very good and enough for all of us to enjoy (sorry, forgot to take pics). We drove this way after cross country skiing at Punderson State Park, and I can imagine us going back after our next outing there. Do recommend if you're in the area.

Service was great, everyone was very pleasant. We were on the heated patioish extension and it was very cute. We ordered the Fritti Misto and the whipped ricotta bread as a starter. There was more vegetables than seafood but it was still good. The bread was okay, needed salt. Our mains we got the short rib pasta ( gluten free ) and crispy chicken limone, both something my husband and I don't normally get when we go to Italian restaurants. I feel that the short rib pasta might be better with a red sauce as it was slightly bland. My entree though was delicious. I am so glad I tried something different. We also had the tiramisu for dessert. Over all good time, thank you so much for a great experience.

Getting a reservation was easy and convenient. I don't know why but the menu has just never excited me. It is a reasonably varied menu with a decent selection, but it's just lacking any creativity. The wine list did include a good selection of excellent Italian wines by the glass. I enjoyed a very nice Amarone. I started with the "Fried Olives" which were tasty but just looked like a plate of marbles. My brother ordered the "Eggplant Meatballs" which I must say were excellent. They were tender and flavorful served in a marvelous marinara sauce... I might go so far as to say they were the highlight of the meal. I ordered the "Lamb Rigatoni" as my entree. It was good, with plenty of tender shredded lamb, but I couldn't help but wish it was covered by the marinara that was on the meatballs. My wife had the "Grilled Bronzini" which she said was very good. But somehow I was reading on her face, "it was just fish". We finished with a good cup of coffee and a scoop of very good ice cream. I can't really point to any specific disappointment. I was just underwhelmed. I wasn't motivated enough to take any pictures... sorry. I think you should give them a try and voice your opinion.
