This review is for the Cuevas Tires at 601 E. Alisal St. in Salinas, CA. I took my car in because one of my tires was running low on air, and I was pretty sure that it had a leak and/or nail, screw, etc. The young man who serviced my wheel used a horizontal tire removing machine to service the tire. It had a nail I believe. Those machines ALWAYS remove tire weights when they remove tires from a wheel. He repaired the puncture in the tire, but then just eyeballed a weight that wasn't even on the wheel originally, hammered it onto the wheel, and then placed the wheel back on my car. I live in Soledad, and I had to get home because I had an appointment in town. Everything seemed OK, but as soon as I got on the freeway, the car began to vibrate to the extreme. They charged me $20 dollars to repair the punctured tire. I had to go back the next day, and the same manager was there, so I figured that they would just rebalance my tire and I would be on my way. He charged me an extra $15 dollars to rebalance a tire that they had just serviced the day before. $35 bucks to fix a flat ! I explained to him that the tire should have been balanced when the tire was serviced, but he was extremely rude and basically told me that tire repair was a rocket science, and that I didn't know what I was talking about, even though I worked repairing tires when I was younger. Very rude and terrible experience and I will not return to that shop, and I do not recommend this shop to anyone ! read more

I was on my way to San Francisco and remember I had a ran down tires on my rear left , so I stopped by here since they quoted me 60 for a new tire and it would be in 20 minutes. I got there and the man said it was almost completely gone so recommended a new one . So I got it and less than 30 minutes I was out fast and really good prices. Service was also great for the area . I would recommend anyone with a tire issue to stop by here it's economical for the occasion and good for fast service. read more

I went in to get wheels installed and they did an awesome job, all the times I've gone they've never disappointed me. As soon as you arrive they greet you in friendly matter that makes you feel comfortable of the bat not like other shops. We came to Cueva's Tires to have a flat tire fixed. It was late in the day, the tow truck we called ended up getting lost somewhere in Salinas, and another tire shop we'd called was closed. We stopped at a tune-up shop, and they pointed us to Cueva's Tires. We're so glad they did that! We drove to their 272 E. Alisal location and we arrived there at about half an hour before closing time. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who quickly and efficiently got to work repairing our tire and replacing our stripped nut. He was done in minutes. We paid a very nominal fee, and we're back on the road in less than 30 minutes. Great service! read more

I stopped to have my tire repaired, saw the head of a nail in the tread. After inspecting the tire they saw that there was no hole and rather than charge me, they showed me the screw and sent me on my way. Nice and honest guys! read more

I have bought new and used tires from Cuevas on three occasions and have been completely satisfied. This time I was in for breaks. I have an older Nissan and the breaks were grinding. I had ignored the break light too long and was expecting that the rotors were damaged. They told me the rotors were fine and I just needed pads and resurfacing ($160). They could have told me the rotors were bad and I would never have known the difference. Many other places would have taken me to the cleaners. My point is that they are honest!!!!! The shop isn't fancy, but that doesn't bother me. They are also very courteous. I highly recommend them. read more

My daughter kept putting off getting new tires for her Ford Escape. The dealership near Sacramento told her $600.00 for 4 50,000 mi tires. Finally, the rains hit and she had to get tires ASAP. She called Cuevas on Sunday morning, he said he was having a quiet spell and if she could come in right away he could put 4 new tires on in 20 minutes. He gave her a good price, too. $480.00 for 4 70,000 mi tires. The alignment is perfect and now she's all set and safe to drive back up to Sacramento! Everyone was courteous and friendly. Great help. Needed to fix a flat tire on a Sunday. Only place I could find open. Could charge a lot but was only $15. A little hard to find. Follow signs past the car wash and then enter to the right at the end of the road. Great service for sure. read more
