Wow, well so once was a happy customer of Cuevas... until today when we had to unexpectedly remove a tire from my car and found that my nice lugnuts had been changed out for some cheap crap ass covers and my tool doesn't fit whatever crappy nut Cuevas put on (and yes, I'm positive it was Cuevas who STOLE my good lugnuts and replaced them with CRAP). Thanks for sending me down the road with these pieces of garbage that my wrench won't even fit. Never again and telling everyone in my circles that Cuevas will STEAL parts off your car. read more

My husband took my car to work and woke up to a flat and nails in the rear tire as well. Clearly driving on the edge of the road. I drove to Salinas and met AAA , who sent me here as they were about a mile from where the car was. I rolled into this battered looking row of metal huts surrounded by a ton of cars.I had not even turned my car off when a worker approached me and asked what I needed. Since two tires were damaged and I had over 50 k miles in the set I asked for four new tires. He didn't try and upsell me on anything fancy and in fact just grabbed the keys and took my car into the shop at 3:06 pm on a Saturday. The waiting area is a couple plastic chairs behind a pile of tires. At 3:52 pm I had four new tires and was on my way for $440 total! These guys were doing all kinds of tires from my mom mobile, the dude with the mini van to tractor tires and truck tires. They were almost running as they were moving so fast. Do I think I bought 50k mike tires, nope. 25k yes but for the money and service it would be hard to beat them. read more

So friendly and so fast. We got a flat on the way to Carmel. Put on the spare and then drove to Cuevas for the repair. They changed the tire in what seemed like less than 15 minutes and they had us back on our way. Good price, fast service, friendly and all without an appointment. Quick service! I had a slow leak in a tire and contacted this business and they told me no appointment needed so I headed on over. When I got there another customer told me they were on a lunch break so I went out to get some food and came back. Within the hour, I returned and all the other customers waiting had been serviced. They were super efficient fixing up my tire and putting it back on. I asked for a tire quote for the future since I will need tires within the next year and prices seemed super reasonable to me! My tire had a nail in it. I had taken it to another tire place because they claimed they would fix it for free. They then told me my lug nut caps were swollen (this seemed off but is a legit issue) and said they would have to charge me 60+$ and replace them on all four tires even though we didn't need them. We called bs and took the car to Cuevas. They charged us 2 dollars per lug nut that the other place damaged and we were on our way with a repaired tire and a smile. read more

When you go to a mechanic all you want is prompt polite and good service. I got all three when stuck in a pinch in Salinas. Definitely cow town, but I really got lucky when I was recommended to this tire shop. Every one was polite, attentive, knowledgeable and fast. Normally I like the visible and well known big-0 with their free rotations and what not, but in this case the small business beat them hands down. I was in and out with 2 new tires balanced and a new spare for $160.00. Although I live far away enough that its likely I'll never use a warranty I'm glad I went there. As it turns out I bought my used truck with three different size tires on it. Manuel the attendant helping me was young clean cut and very knowledgeable answering the phone between customers. I would not have stopped here from their block letter sign painted on the wall, and the yard dog and 10 fellas standing around 20 cars in various states of disrepair would make me want to stop either. If you can overlook the dustiness(probably common in Salinas), and Tijuana like appearance, I say you will get the some of the best service and prices in a jam and on a budget. Worth every penny!! P.S. - I have needed a spare tire before and all the corporate tire shops only carry fancy shine rims that would cost me as much as the tire itself. Cueva's Tires sold me my rim for $10.00 and after walking in to pay I saw they had a huge assortment of new tires. I would go back and recommend this place in a second. read more

Came here for 6 or 7 sets of tires and 2 alignments so far and the place is great. The guy that seems to run the place, not sure his name, but he is very personable and knows what he's doing. Sometimes they are a little hectic with quite a few customers so I'll offer to walk across the street to the little restaurant and have some tacos. Amazing how fast they get people out of there.
