The bar is to the immediate left of the door with a few tables then the rest of the seating is past the hostess desk. It was pretty empty when we came so we were sat immediately and it didn't take long to get our food. We got different things including soup, veggies, and the chicken spiedini sandwich. Everything was good! Hot and well seasoned. The chicken spiedini sandwich was absolutely incredible, I ate it twice in one week that focaccia bread is absolutely delicious. Although this menu here isn't as big as you'd think of with a normal Italian restaurant's there's a variety of food to choose from. This was my first experience at Cugino's at Lake St. Louis. Chef John is a great ambassador for the restaurant and encouraged me to try them out. Our party of 2 was seated right away on a sunny winter Saturday afternoon. There were five other partys in for lunch this day. Server Vickie was attentive immediately and throughout our meal. We started with the Honey Lavender Lemon Drop and a Lemonade, which were both refreshing and tasty. The Stuffed Meatballs appetizer was perfectly shareable and wonderful. Our entrees, Chicken Modiga/side Caesar salad and Cajun Pasta/side Green salad were fresh and surprisingly flavorful. (The Cajun Pasta was a little spicier than I like but was still good). So to find out Cuginos was coming to my backyard in Lake Saint Louis, could only be a blessing from the food gods! Cuginos has the ability to get innovative and elevate your standard pub food. Any sandwich with their house made focaccia bread is above and beyond. My new favorite is the Roasted Porchetta sandwich, but the Italian Grinder, Chicken Spedini, French Drip or the Pastrami Melt are all excellent choices. If you're feeling like a burger, live dangerously and try the PB&J burger. They also have really good house made pastas. Their Sweet potato Gnocchi is absolutely delicious. To go with your food how about some delicious Narrow Gauge beer on tap, can't go wrong with that! First, the atmosphere is beautiful. Very sleek and elegant. Our server was attentive as well. The only issue we had was with our small plate item. We had the broccolini with ricotta and Calabrian chili paste. The chili paste was simply poured on top. It was very spicy and I like spice. I feel if it was whipped with the ricotta the heat would have been cut a bit. We simply could not eat it. I was a little disappointed since I rarely see broccolini on a menu. Great new spot in LSL! Came here for a work happy hour and was expecting more of an Italian spot- but was pleasantly surprised that it's a little bit American and a little but Italian. We stared out with the nachos and the meatballs. I loved the nachos but a few of my coworkers weren't a big fan of the wonton chips. I liked them- personal preference. The meatballs were incredible- cheese stuffed, everyone was a big fan. The ambiance is modern and open. The service was absolutely fantastic. My first review of 2024! The Cugino's in Florissant has been on my radar for quite a while. I just never make it to North County. When I heard they opened a location at The Meadows in Lake Saint Louis my interest was piqued. Met a friend for a quick dinner during the first week of the year. The space is quite large and was formerly a Pasta House. We shared the Stuffed Meatballs (Three giant meatballs stuffed with provel, deep fried and topped with red sauce & parmesan) and I also ordered a Caesar Salad. I thought the meatballs were great! The outside was crisp and the cheese inside was perfectly melty. They were well cooked! My one complaint is I'm not a fan of green pepper and there was a bit inside the meatball. The Caesar Salad was overdressed and almost flavorless. Service was friendly and obviously the beer selection is great! I'm sure we'll be back! I'm a fan of pastrami. Big fan. I've had the best in Los Angeles, the best in Vegas, and of course that one place that is a destination for all fans in New York City. I've had pastrami a few times locally when I could find it, and the closest I came was very near Cugino's, but it was relegated to "if I need to satisfy the urge". Cugino's pastrami is made onsite, they say. And the rye bread is made there too. These words on the menu, and in my review, don't do it justice. This was hands down, a wonderfully well done pastrami with a complexity of flavor that puts all the others to shame. Madison took our order, and was our primary server. But it didn't stop with her. The amount of staff that stopped by, the attention to our needs, and the staffers that were carefully observing, all reflected my ideal of making sure that the customer is happy. The ambience is the theme of the times we are in, with a focus on food, TVs to watch, and otherwise basic, but it worked well here, and so much better than I have seen. I think it's due to ideal spacing, and arrangements that don't feel cramped or ignored. This will get many return visits from us. read more

I am a big fan of Narrow Gauge brews (their associated brewery) and just was excited to see they put a Cugino's location in Lake St. Louis (located in The Meadows). The restaurant is bigger than I expected, with a nice outdoor patio. I visited with my mom for lunch and we opted to sit at the bar. The bartenders were fantastic and friendly! He let us sample a couple of beers on tap before we made our selection. We both ordered a grilled chicken salad to eat and they were delicious! The house dressing was perfect! My mom is a sucker for a good espresso martini so we had to split one after finishing our meals. The bartender even split the martini into two glasses for us! We got the espresso martini & the mule. I will say the cocktails are pricey though. My espresso martini was $12?!?! We also got an appetizer of the toasted ravs which were a decent proportion. For our meals I got the housemade gnocchi with sausage. It was good, but very spicy which I was not expecting. I wish they would have disclosed that as I did not eat much. My fiance got the italian sandwich and this one was good!!!! We will go back for this sandwich alone! I rated this a 4 because they are on the pricer side for a sandwich or burger.
