I have always had a fear of dentist because of past experiences which were very painful. I researched top dentist in Maryland and I came across Dr. Kuzmak, Towson View Dental Care and decided to give them a call and make an appointment. I was very nervous about the visit because I had two broken teeth with only the roots left in my gums. Upon my arrival I was meant by a warm and welcoming staff. Dr. Kuzmack himself came out to the waiting area to greet me and to offer me a bottle of water. That definitely helped take the edge off. He explained everything to me before he began the procedure. I always brace myself for the initial needle stick and deep burning that follows from the Novocaine... However to my surprise Dr. Kuzmack pulls out a device that he uses in conjunction with the needles that massages your gums during injection which helped to alleviate any pain! I was totally taken back that I did not feel ANY pain the entire procedure. No pain from the needle or the root extraction. I initially went to the Owings Mills Office for an emergency appointment last year, and after great…read moreservice - I decided to return for my annual cleaning and overall check up. I scheduled, and due to my own fault, I missed the appointment. I called the next day after realizing it, and was met with the MOST rude office manager. She told me that I was blocked from making a new appointment because I missed my "new patient" appointment. I told her I'd been in once before and she said b/c it was an EMERGENCY appointment that I was still considered "new" (mind you this isn't my primary dentist but I was thinking of switching over) so they basically BANNED me for accidentally mixing up the date of my appointment. I went in the office to personally speak with someone in charge and to my surprise, the office manager didn't give the same energy she had over the phone once I dropped in- she then offered to speak with someone to see if I "could get rescheduled" which I later found out SHE could've easily done the reschedule. I don't know what type of games this office is playing, and everytime I've been in there they are empty- they should want the business. I called to the Towson office was promised a call back by the owners and that NEVER happened- that was a week ago. So, I'd say take your business elsewhere if you can.

I knew after that visit that we wouldn't return, but I wanted to take care of my daughter's teeth before discontinuing my appointments (especially since it would be a different dentist). When I came to get the cavities filled, I encountered more rudeness and impatience from Dr. Ajayi. When my daughter didn't do exactly what she asked her to do, she walked out of the room. The hygienist offered ways to help - smaller inserts for my daughter's mouth, cushions for my daughter to sit on to raise her, etc. Dr. Ajayi walked out of the room seven times!!! She spoke negatively about me and my daughter to the dental hygienist in front of my other daughter!!! I have never seen this type of unprofessionalism from a dentist! I am terribly disappointed by their lack of courtesy, compassion, and professionalism.

I'll first start by saying that we are pleased with the experience we have had with our dentists…read more The service is great, and our boys have had positive experiences which is important as they are young. With that said, the front-end experience has been poor. A little background. I received an Explanation of Benefits from my dental insurance company (Delta) along with a check. I asked if my ex-wife had paid anything out of pocket, and I was told no, she hadn't. I called the dentists' office to ask why I received the check. I was told that my boys saw Dr. Shelton that day. I was then informed that Dr. Shelton doesn't take Delta while Dr. Gibbons does. Weird, but ok - I know doctors carry their own insurances, but I find it odd that the practice doesn't carry the same insurance for all providers. I did confirm that their appointment was with Dr. Gibbons, but when they showed up, my ex-wife was told that they would see Dr. Shelton that day since Dr. Gibbons was out. No big deal. But, at no time was she informed about the lack of Delta insurance coverage with Dr. Shelton or what would happen if she saw someone who didn't cover their insurance (end result is not a big deal as you will see, but ugh to the lack of communication). I digress - back to the check I received. I was told that I would need to endorse the check and return it to their office. Ok, also not a big deal. I then asked if they could make a note in their system about the insurance coverage so that in the future this wouldn't happen. This is where things go off the rails. I was told that it was MY responsibility to understand which of their doctors carried Delta and that it was my responsibility to ensure that I was seeing the correct doctor (wild). I asked how I was supposed to know that Dr. Shelton didn't cover Delta and why that would be my responsibility. I was assured that they told my ex-wife about it at some point. I won't go into "she said-she said" said details about what the receptionist and my ex had to say, but their stories differ. The receptionist began to get very short with me to the point where she said our conversation was unbelievable. She even asked if I would be cancelling the boys' future appointments so that I could create two openings for other customers (excuse me?). I explained as calmly as I could that I wanted to prevent this from happening again as driving the check and EOB to their office was inconvenient to which her retort was that I could just mail it in instead (also inconvenient). We ended the conversation without cancelled appointments but some frustration on both sides - I don't think she liked her (their?) quality practices being called into question. If you're still considering this practice (which you should in my opinion), take the following tips - 1) Know if both doctors take your insurance so that if something unexpected happens, you know who you can and can't see 2) Call ahead to make sure that you and/or your children will be seeing the doctor they are scheduled with that day to avoid an unexpected switcharoo like we experienced It's worth repeating- we have had very good experiences with this dental practice in general; however, I'm reviewing the practice as a whole. The lack of communication and the front-office rudeness I experienced are being taken into account. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I'll round up to 4 since it's been more good than bad.

Both said, there is nothing there and I even went so far as to have a root canal on another tooth which one doctor thought caused the pain. Dr. Whitecar had state of the art equipment and easily identified a significant crack, albeit difficult to see with lesser equipment. I was scheduled for a procedure within days of the initial visit. The pain finally resolved. The staff was amazing as well and accommodated my initial visit within a day of my call. I highly recommend this practice.
