Pool area was closed all weekend, even though when booking it said was open and that was a big reason we booked this hotel. There looked like mold on the shower head and on the tub. There was used plastic spoon, fork, and knife in a side table. The vent above the toilet was very dusty, not sure if cleaned. There was a chip in the side table. And the WiFi was where you have to go to a separate page to log in on your phone and you are unable to use any systems you bring in the WiFi. Tried to ask to pay for a soda and front desk said it was for higher members. Tried to use the vending machine instead and it was out of order. The shower bar for the curtain was off a little. Check out was at 12 and they called around 11 and 11:45 to remind you it was at 12. Do not disturb was on door at check out and around 11:30 we had a knock on the door from housekeeping. Felt a big pushy to leave before check out time. Breakfast was not mine or my husbands favorite. We ended up not eating much and going somewhere else to eat. They didn't refill the milk the first day when we came down and the second day the milk was a little warm. Ac in the room did not go down to the temp it said and no matter how many times I pressed it sometimes it would not go up or down in temperature setting. Edit to add photos

We were checking in at 3 o'clock. Upon arrival, we noticed that the place was filthy, smelled like mold, had a musty odor. Upon inspection, there was everything that was metal was rusted. There was dirt stains on everything, walls, ironing board, comforter, shower, you name it. It was probably the most disgusting place I've ever stayed in. I started taking pictures because I was waiting for this survey to come in so I can show you what we unfortunately had to stay in for four nights because everything was booked where we were staying because of the event that was going on at Graves Mountain. So there was nowhere for us to go. The only thing that was left at the hotel, I believe, was one smoking room and my girlfriend is highly allergic to cigarette smoke. So there were no options. I had killed one roach that I took a picture of and I have all these pictures of the way the room looked for your viewing. We saw other roaches while we were sleeping at night and just tried to ignore it and get whatever rest we possibly could. I have not gone on Google to make a review of this hotel, hoping that you will do the right thing when you see these pictures and read the experience, the horrific, horrible experience we had. And there was nothing we could do. The only thing we could do was possibly sleep in the car. I never imagined that me and my girlfriend would have to deal with this. And yeah, it was that bad, as you'll be able to see in these photographs.

The staff was friendly at check in and really took care of all the extended family visiting for a funeral. The lobby is bright and welcoming, the bar and restaurant was neatly kept and open, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious and updated. I've been to big brand hotels that weren't as updated! The menu and quality of food was exceptional! From a home cooked hot breakfast to the varied dinner menu. Everything that was available was delicious! My only complaint is that the serving staff in the diner, with one shining and amazing exception, didn't seem to be happy doing what they do and were either uninterested in serving us or unaware of what was on their menu. The room was big and stunning. I loved the wood floors and everything inside the room. Everything was spotless. The beds were two queens and they were very comfortable. In the morning we went to the mansion for breakfast. The hosts were extremely friendly and made us feel at home while they cooked us some fresh eggs. The price was very reasonable and this was way better than staying at a hotel, it just was way more relaxing. I highly recommend the Lookaway Inn!

The bathroom was also spacious and and a big and deep jetted tub, which was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. VERY disappointed in afternoon tea at The Willcox Inn in Aiken, SC. Why? Because I didn't have it!…read more I was extremely disappointed in restaurant management when I was told today that afternoon tea was only served after 3pm. I had booked online reservations 7 days in advance, clicking on the 'Book A Table' button on the Afternoon tea link on the Willcox Inn website which took me to Resy Open Table page. The times showing supposedly for afternoon tea was 12, 12:30 and 12:45, so I chose 12:45 and typed in the note box specifying that this is for Afternoon Tea. It gave me the reservation time and sent an email confirming. I then CALLED Willcox Inn to confirm the date, time, number in party for AFTERNOON TEA, telling the lady who took my call that I was calling to confirm afternoon tea time for 4. The lady confirmed she had me down and repeated the details. So two sources confirmed an afternoon tea request, online and human. When I arrived at the dining room of the Willcox today at 12:05pm, early, I was told they only serve tea after 3pm. I was very upset, especially when it was the restaurant's fault for NOT specifying on the afternoon tea page that tea was only available after 3pm. We were told there was nothing they could do and they apologized. My friends and I had traveled from Evans, GA, forty-five minutes away to be told 'sorry, no tea', after I had confirmation from two sources. To make matters worse, we were told there were no tea foods, no scones, no tea sandwiches that could be served to us at 12:30 when everything would be available a few hours later at 3pm. The chef even came to our table to coldly state she could not prepare any scones as she had to feed other diners. The very least a manager could have offered to guests who had traveled distance and were denied what they were given confirmation for, was to comp a meal, and provide an explanation of errors on their website. I will never return to this establishment because they simply do not care about their customers. With today's use of social media, everyone is a reviewer. And this restaurant failed in providing good customer service, and failed in attempting to correct inaccuracies due to their negligence in advertising correct times for afternoon tea. Anyone who booked afternoon tea through this page should have their reservations honored, despite the restaurant's negligence. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I must say overall my experience here was positive but could have been better. The front desk staff was outstanding. They were courteous and accommodating. Gave a lot of helpful tips of navigating the city and good places to eat. I even had an accident while checking out and the front desk staff jumped into action to help be gather all my things that scatter all over the lobby. Let's start with the location of the Home2. It's centrally located to lots of restaurants and shopping and about a 10-15 minute drive to Augustus depend on where you are going. There is a lot of construction in the area and a hotel being built right next door do there is a lot of heavy machinery present but I was nuanced by any of the noise so that's a plus. The room was spacious and modern and semi clean. And I only say semi because the shower wasn't really that clean. There was some leftover hair in the shower from a previous guest. I did not love that at all. But luckily I only trust my cleaning and travel with cleaning supplies. The bed was hard, like park bench. LAWDDD if these hotel chains don't believe we care about the comfort of our beds, they are WRONGGG. I couldn't get comfortable to save my life and I was there for 4 whole days. The AC unit was spotty i.e. worked when it damn well pleased and I wasn't going to tell it anything different but it wasn't the quietest thing when it did decide to work. And you can hear the people walking above you, similar to living in apartment and you hear your neighbors walking about all day and night. I loved the tiny kitchen it was so cute. That area was spotless. Parking lot is too small for such a large hotel. And they have a large number of guest due to the heavy construction in the area.

The parking is valet only and is included in the mandatory report fee so be prepared for that. The grounds are immaculate and this place is definitely in a bubble. We used the pickleball courts and the spa. The pickleball courts were 3 miles away, but there is a shuttle you can take that is on-demand. You can also use the bikes that are included in the resort fee, but it is a hilly ride. The courts themselves are nice, and not owned by the Ritz, so they take your room number to charge the Ritz. The spa was really nice and guests are allowed to use the amenities without charge. There was a long line though so they took my name down. I got the tour in the meantime and found that it was pretty empty. The facilities are nice and clean, including a cold plunge, family indoor pool, hot tub, steam shower, and sauna. The room itself was well appointed and classy. The toiletries were abundant and the bathroom spacious, with a tub and free standing shower. The bed was soft and there was a small couch and desk. The TV was large, but had limited channels. The turndown service with small chocolates was a nice touch and I was blown away that they saw my mouse on the desk and put a Ritz mousepad underneath it for me. Since we were there for a retreat, we ate some meals in the tent, which was more than a tent. We had a buffet breakfast at Gaby's on the Lake with open seating and were able to grab a table next to the window for the fabulous views. Lastly, our sessions were in the Pavilion, which was a really nice facilities with comfy chairs, but only one unisex bathroom.
