This has been my steady print shop for a variety of business purposes spanning the past 30+ years. When my previous employer closed their business, my needs changed so it was mainly for business cards or envelopes that I would seek their services. Heck, they even helped me in formatting and fitting an Excel spreadsheet form of my financial statements for the banks onto an 8 x 14 sheet format. Yes, trust me, that was complicated. Recently, I enlisted their help in printing programs for a memorial service. The mortuary told me a few days before the service that they could only print them on 8 x 11 sheets of paper which made the print difficult to read. After printing a mock-up copy on my office printer, I brought it here and told them that I needed 250 copies by Friday afternoon for a Saturday service. Nutshell, it was ready Friday morning, double stapled on glossy paper. Mission accomplished. Buf thanks to Laura and her mom for helping me with this and getting it done as promised. YES! Best printer ever!!! I was referred here to Laura by my friends who got their beautiful wedding invites printed here. We wanted to also do letter pressed invitations and when I emailed to get quotes from various printers, Culture Lite Printing was by far the best price. Not only was the pricing competitive, they also do a mix of digital printing along with doing any special printing (letterpress, emboss, foil, etc) which from my round of emailing, most letterpress shops would only do the letterpress portion then would refer me to a digital print shop to do that portion. When I came into the shop, Laura showed me a variety of paper suggestions based on my design files. She also walked me through the different printing options and showed examples of previous work. Culture Lite is a tiny, family-run offset printing company in SF chinatown. When I used to work for a digital printing company we outsource our offset printing projects to Culture Lite. They do large print run of up to 4 colors. They may be able to do up to 6 colors, but I'm not 100% sure. Very good, professional, commercial quality prints. Fast turn-around time (I have asked them to do the impossible before, made me feel bad). Prices are very reasonable. Aside from printing, some of their finishing services include: folding, cutting, saddle-stitching and collating. They can even print on odd sized paper stock such as pre-cut invitation cards. They don't do raised ink printing/thermography though. When you call, you may get an old chinese lady on the other line, just ask for Laura (the lady is Laura's mom). If Laura is not there, the old lady may tell you to call another number (which is their other location). It maybe hard to listen to her thick accent because it'll sound like this: "Lola lola not heel. Col thlee sixty too fo ate nain thlee. San kyuu." Translation: Laura's not here, call 362-4813. After seeing Ari C.'s post, I realized I had to review them. They are a great print house and very cheap! We worked with a broker but I'm pretty sure you can work directly with Culture Lite. They do mailings as well as prints. We printed everything from posters, postcards, fliers, cards, invitations, small and large runs. They are very fast and willing to work with you too. We had a few semi emergencies and they were able to print a small batch for us and ship via UPS for us to meet a deadline. I love them!! Laura is great and has art skills so if needed so knows how to move things around without screwing up your file. Also... a fun little story. Went here for a pick up of 10,000 postcards... Waverly was blocked off by security and cops and big trucks. We finally parked in a red zone and walked there to find out Happyness was being filmed on Waverly! So exciting. They redid the street and made everything look different. But Culture Lite is right across the street from the daycare! We got escorted by security and when the crew saw us two little girls, plus the older man and Laura trying to carry out all the boxes, they helped us. We got our wedding invitations printed here. The end result turned out well--we have gotten many compliments--but it was a rough ride to get there. The store is chaotic, and Laura seems way overworked. She needs an office manager! The pricing changed multiple times, we would get emails from Laura that were confusing three-word answers, and when we received the invitations, there were two mistakes [thankfully, not our names spelled wrong or a wrong date!] despite the fact that we had painstakingly written down every specification of our custom invites. They were very cooperative about fixing the mistake, but still..... frustrating and stressful, especially for a bride whose mom lives and dies for fancy paper! This little Chinatown shop was a great find! We worked primarily with Laura to figure out what magical mix of paper color, weight, size, envelope, etc. would work for the invitations and RSVP cards that we were envisioning. She was very patient with us and got us a great deal price-wise. We worked with Laura on our wedding invites. It was a fairly challenging project (irregular shaped invites, required printing on artisanal delicate paper, printing in three languages, mounting tissue paper). We were really pleased with the results! We felt she went above and beyond in providing us with design advice and suggestions on how to make the end product tasteful. She was also reasonable and fair about the prices (told us we didn't require letter stamp, we could probably do digital given our type of paper). A note is that Laura's shop is often very busy, so it works well to communicate early on expectations surrounding timelines and it doesn't hurt to check in to see where she is on the process. read more

I found Culture Printing on Yelp & called Laura right away. When we went to her shop, we just wanted them to print the text on the ready made invitation & RSVP papers that we have. We didn't realize, however, that our paper is too thin for a letter press printing & won't look nice either for a foil print. This place saved my butt. I had gotten fancy schmancy letterpressed wedding invitations shipped to me and they didn't fit in the corresponding envelopes because the printer had forgotten to trim them down to the right size. I had set aside half a day to stuff them and now I was stuck. Can you imagine my angst? I called around to several copy shops to see about getting them trimmed and no one would cut another shop's print job...until I called this place. This is a little Mom and Pop type place with a very modest storefront, but when I called and spoke to Laura I instantly felt at ease. She said they could probably cut it on the spot and I went right over. She figured out how much needed to be trimmed and was able to do it in 5 minutes on a machine designed to handle exactly this sort of job cleanly and quickly! Extremely reasonable pricing too! I've checked the two printing companies on Clay St and was about to have one of them print the invitations for my grandson's red egg party. I really wasn't crazy about the sample selections at those 2 companies but I needed the invitations printed soon. Then I searched Yelp for other printers in Chinatown and discovered CL Printing with mostly positive reviews. I emailed Laura on Sat (not realizing that the shop was closed weekends) . On Monday I made a trip to Chinatown and talked to Laura. She showed me her small selection of red egg party invitations. I was impressed by the quality of the samples and by Laura's friendly professionalism. I placed my order with CL Printing and received the completed invitations within 2 weeks. I did find printing typos and made revisions on the initial proofs which Laura immediately corrected and revised. I am very happy to discover CL Printing and would patronize them again should I ever need future invitations or printing. read more
