Ibarra Brothers Printing does not need another five-star review, but I'm writing one anyway because the level of customer service and product quality I just experienced is beyond anything I've ever experienced. I have a small, 18-pg. booklet that was made for me over 20 years ago -- so old that the file was in PageMaker! But the booklet has important family significance, so I wanted to make copies for my upcoming cousins' reunion dinner in Portland. Assuming that my file was useless, I thought I could at least have flat photocopies made. I could have gone to one of the chains, but ever since the pandemic, I've made it a point to keep my business needs -- not to mention my dollars -- local, because it's been sad to see many local businesses fail after Covid struck the city so badly. And as a long-time resident, San Francisco's financial health is important to me. Well there's a reason Ibarra Brothers Printing has been around for 40 years. And that reason is that they wrote the book on customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Jose patiently spent quite a bit of time with my old file. And as we sat at his computer, he ingeniously found a way to convert PageMaker to an updated printable version.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fonts and other formatting issues did not translate in the transition, but Jose took the time to manually and perfectly match the original. I'm pretty sure FedEx Office would have taken one look at my job and said NO WAY! I went into Ibarra Brothers on a Friday. Jose sent me two proofs over the weekend with just minor changes. I couldn't believe it when on Monday morning, I received an email saying that my booklets were ready! Not only did Jose and his team do a fantastic job of recreating my booklets, but they even made an extra copy and then give me a UBS with the new file on it. I can't tell you how thrilled I am with the incredible customer service, attention to detail, reasonable price, quality of printing, and super-speedy completion. I needed some last minute flyers for an event. I brought a thumb drive with an RGB and a CMYK version of a bookmark design, multiple on a page. (Tip: bring a CMYK file and have it printed in RGB.) The prints came out great for 90 cents a page on card stock and cuts were made no extra charge. read more

I went to this place for my wedding save the date cards. I almost never leave reviews but felt compelled to due to the service I received here. I already had a card design in mind and they let me use a particular type of paper too. Jose even told me the best place in town to source the type of paper I wanted. My order was a little confusing and they were so generous with their time once it was my turn and were super very reasonable especially compared to other store I checked out. They made sure to double check everything when they were printing to make sure it was right. They also cut all my invites for free. Really great, kind owners and so affordable. I usually print things at my local library in Noe, but since it's closed due to Covid and the UPS store is expensive, I walked here to support local. It's cash only for less than ten dollars and I only had my credit card, so the owner told me to just come back Monday and pay then. He was surprised I came back after the weekend to pay, so he probably intended to let me print for free. They print small orders and large (Foreign Cinema was printing their weekend menus when I came in). Support local! They deserve all your business. read more

I came in to print some images for a project, not expecting much, since I had the idea from past attempts that color copies never turn out well. The service is phenomenal, first of all- the man who helped me was kind and funny. He really gave his full attention to the project and asked a lot of questions to be extra clear about how I wanted the prints to turn out. As a detail-oriented person myself, that was so appreciated. Then the prints blew me away. That might only attest to how lackluster my experiences have been at other print shops... but they were head and shoulders above any other prints I've ever made. An artist friend actually said in response to my project, "This is really high quality!" which I think is exactly the kind of thing you want to hear after leaving your friendly neighborhood print shop. I called last night around 7:45pm and a very helpful gentlemen answered.. I asked about doing single copy printing, he assured me they did. I asked if I could log into email to print or should I bring a USB drive, he said USB is better. He answered so late in the evening but said their store hours were 8am-6pm.. great the boyfriend would be going tomorrow to do some printing! Flash forward to today... boyfriend goes in and says he needs to print a few copies and pulls out his USB drive. The girl is pretty snide and says.. it in PDF form? He says.. no its just a simple word document. She says.. well its going to come out messed up then. He says.. ok just print one out and i'll take a look at it. She says FINE. but you'll have to pay for it.... comes back with the copy that is exactly perfect. He asks for 9 more copies. She scoffs and brings him back the 9 copies... For $1.50.. it wasn't worth the trouble SHE put him through. So sad because I had such a lovely conversation with one of the men that works there last night. This lady killed their business for us. As a business manager I just think that the excellent phone call should have translated into better in store customer service. read more

Really useful to pop in and make a bunch of copies, but I kind of got totally ignored when I walked in, which may be because I just look so capable and like I know what I'm doing, but I really didn't and so being almost forcibly ignored was obnoxious. Still, I made at least 140 copies for $22, which is awesome. But on the other hand, my sister and her bf dragged some huge boxes over here to ship, and were told very rudely that "no post office operations are done after 5pm." They refused to be made to drag the boxes back and forth again, and bargained whoever was working the counter into selling them the postage and shipping it tomorrow, but still, F for customer service on that one.
