I will say this Kombucha Bar is the first I've ever visited and before coming here out of curiosity, I never even knew places like this existed. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming and allowed me to sample a few drinks before purchasing, which was incredibly helpful. I also didn't realize it's located right on the BeltLine, which makes it an even better option to stop by and relax. I didn't try the food since I'm currently fasting, but from what I observed, the other customers seemed very pleased with their orders. The ambiance is calm, peaceful, and quiet; the perfect place to work remotely, study, write, relax, or simply hang out for a while. I would like if it was just a hair bigger in size, but this is no deal breaker. I'll definitely be adding this spot into my regular rotation for remote work, writing, and relaxing coffee shop vibes. We originally loved the ice cream that Cultured South has, but we're not as impressed with the food. The Cuban was a standard Cuban and nothing too special. It was good and not bad, not small and not large, but pretty standard. The vegan grilled cheese was more of a vegan cheese spread on toast than it was a grilled cheese. This was our first time at a Kombucha bar so we were really interested in checking it out especially as we look for non-alcoholic options. The person at the counter was super patient and kind giving us great service as she allowed us to try any of the flavors we wanted. Which they also have flights if this is something you're into. We decided on the Vanilla Coffee Kombucha and one she recommended that tasted like an IPA. We ordered a pint, was able to sit down and it so happened that while we were there, a group of people were doing DJ sets so we were able to really chill, enjoy and listen to music which wasn't super loud but added to the chill-ness. We didn't notice until we were leaving that there was other things on the menu such as mocktails so we will be back to try some out! Why shoot the Hooch when you can shoot some BUCH. I've never had kombucha on this level. Maybe a can of it here, a bottle of it there, but never on tap in the form of a flight. And DEFINITELY never with Honeysuckle Gelato as a kombucha float. I'm definitely not a kombucha expert. And it doesn't help that I'm super indecisive, especially with all the different flavors of kombucha on tap at one time. So being able to order a flight was helpful! The flight sampler allows you to choose up to 5 different samples on tap. I definitely prefer the sweeter and fruitier flavors! And if you're ready to go all in, you can also order a kombucha float. They top a cup of kombucha with a scoop of honeysuckle gelato and I really didn't know I needed a kombucha mixed with ice cream until now. It does help tone down that kombucha flavor, especially if you're still getting accustomed to it. It's a super chill spot in the West End, whether you're hanging with friends or the fam, trying to be productive and get work done, Cultured South is definitely a unique option. I will not be retuning to Cultured South! I did not feel welcomed there as the employees that we encountered were very rude & impatient with my partner and I. We wanted to try their Kombucha & gelato (I guess we didn't order fast enough for their liking). On top of the terrible hospitality, the Kombucha I got was the worst I've ever had! It was extremely tart & bitter, I did not taste any sweetness at all! In addition, the gelato we purchased was over priced & did not taste good either! Stopped in with a friend because I had a Groupon. The place feels really homey. Life edge wood tables with metal legs. High ceilings, funky art, and both food and Kombucha available. The Groupon allowed us to each get 2 cups of Kombucha along with 2 cans to go, so we were able to taste 6 different flavors. They do have some CBD infused ones, but we didn't try those. They also don't allow tasting at the moment because of Covid, but no surprise there. All the flavors were bright and tart, sparkling and refreshing, but some certainly had better flavor than others. The strawberry mint was a bit watery, as was the peach. The honey spicy one was quite nice though, as was the elderberry. Cute place right off the beltline. It took a while for my friend and I to find this place, because it is a little hidden. The GPS will take you to a door that has a sign on a door that will tell correct directions for the bar. It's 100 ft to the left of the door. It's a small bar, with a comfortable, rustic, southern vibe. It's quiet, well lit, and lots of walls that are Instagram worthy. Heck, I think the whole place is Instagram worthy. Their menu is simple, and very easy to choose from. They have dairy and vegan gelato. They also have a vegan cheese plate that features cashew cheese. It looks like the selection rotates. They also do kombucha gelato floats. I am still on the fence about this. I like gelato, I like kombucha. I'm not sure if I like both of them in one glass. For $0.50 more, you can have them separately. I got the honey fig gelato with the strawberry mint kombucha. It was pretty good, but it started to get heavy to drink the closer I got to the bottom of the glass. I think there's a lot of subtle flavors in both items, so I might try different combination next time. You can buy growlers to take the kombucha to go. I discovered Cultured South after trying CBD kombucha at a restaurant, which made me want to find other places that have it. I love kombucha, so I think it's super cool that they exclusively serve it. There were a ton of flavors, and the person who served us was very helpful! They have a great offer available on Groupon, so I used it to get 4 drinks and 2 cans to go for less than $20! The offer is for regular kombucha, but you can just pay a $1.50 up-charge per drink to get it with CBD. I had the Blue-Grass CBD Kombucha and really liked it! Cultured South is located on the Belt Line next to a few other breweries, so it's easy to walk over to other spots if you also want alcoholic drinks. They have a great outdoor seating area, and it's clear they are serious about their Covid safety precautions with hand sanitizer available outside the entrances and signs requesting that it be used before entry. Very cute cafe with beautiful/local art. Friendly employees and service. That being said, their kombucha is a bit on the lighter/strength taste for me. I like the natural fermented strong kombucha taste. They do have more unique flavors and a limited list (I prefer less choices as an indecisive) I have tried the lavender and the strawberry basil another time. While they are not bad, I wouldn't call them exceptional by any means. I still prefer GTS. I do think I might come back and try the creamiscle (was out of stock). Love this spot! I am a huge fan of Golda Kombucha and I am at the point in the pandemic where I reallyyyyyyy need a place to get work done that is not my living room. The inside of Cultured South is very cozy, as well as clean and safe. There is also outside seating. The wifi is very fast and always dependable. There are locally made snacks and some oprepared food items. I believe there is a cheese board with vegan cheese! I have eaten some of the protein bars, which are super good and locally made. Overall, Cultured South is a great place to get some work done. I don't really drink, so it's also been fun to meet friends here instead of an actual bar drinking actual alcohol. Went here for an event on Saturday with Atl rising and fell in love with the place . They had yoga outside and some amazing women owned business that are local to Georgia. I ordered a 6 pack of the CBD kombucha to take Home and had 3 of the Lemon Head 16 ounce kombucha and an oat milk latte while I was there . The take home six pack included the lavender lemon , blue grass , and the hopped Georgia citrus ! I can't say enough good things about the kombucha ( not vinegary at all ) and the ambiance. They not only offer Kombucha tasting, but also Kefir and a few other interesting drinks. It's a super fun place to go after work or during the weekend if you're looking for a place to sit, relax, catch up and experience something new. They offer drinks and a few snacks but I'll admit the snacks weren't very good. :/ we ordered the cheese board and there wasn't a single thing worth eating on that board. Cultured south, the sort of parent of golda kombucha and Pure Abundance Cashew Cheese, at least thats how the very friendly staff explained it to me. They essentially do kombucha on tap. (You can buy the cashew cheese too) I asked lots of questions. I got a lot of answers. The staff knows what they're doing which is always a relief and makes the process and experience so much more meaningful. All of their kombucha is fantastic. I got a flight which includes your pick of flavors in 5 5oz glasses. My favorite was the Water Kefir. It was light and easy to drink. The gun and cream tastes like cream soda which was wild. They feature a CBD kombucha, but they were out by the time I got there. 10/10 I love this place. It's decarated so well and is warm and inviting. Can't wait to watch this spot grow! We are diehard Kombucha fans and usually guzzle down oodles of mostly California sourced fermented teas you get at Costco. We are also diehard Westside Beltline fans. When a good friend told us about Cultured South, we couldn't put on our biking tights and nerdy helmets fast enough. After a exhilarating 3 Mile ride in the blazing Atlanta humidity, we found our oasis! It's not easy to find but when you do, you will be in locally sourced Nirvana. Open on Sunday for goodness sakes, we sashayed in this cozy hipster paradise and met the amazing owner that sold us on everything. Two types of Vegan cheese (made of cashews I kid you not), locally made sweet and spicy dynamite pickles, to die for crackers, and locally made spicy jelly. Though not Vegan, we took a leap of faith and were blown away at how good this platter was. We had the Kombucha which not only quenched our thirst but made us swear off the "imported stuff". As if that wasn't enough, they were offering a free yoga class with any purchase that day. We were almost out the door when we noticed their own Kombucha soap. Two bars later we were finally ready to pedal back home. They also sell their own bottled Bucha and Growlers of their Kombucha to save you dinero. We absolutely love this place and you will too. Cultured South is Atlanta's first kombucha tap room and they have been open for 3 days! You definitely need to check this place out. First, let's talk about kombucha.. it may not be your cup of tea (pun intended), but the type that is served at Cultured South is amazing. They offer Golda Kombucha and it is far milder than any kombucha I have tried. There is no vinegary taste due to the fermentation process they use but the health benefits are the same. The tap room is located in the West End on White Street, near to the Monday Night Brewery Garage location. It is a bit tucked away but trust your GPS. There is ample parking in their lot, too. The interior space is beautiful and simple with lots of seating and they will soon be adding a beltline facing outdoor patio. I sat at the bar when I visited and ordered a kombucha flight. For $8 you can try 5 of their rotating flavors. My favorites were the mango habanero and the lavender lemon. You can also order a 16oz. glass of any available flavor or grab a 16oz bottle or growler to go. If you do purchase a bottle or growler, know that they are both refillable at a discounted price. If kombucha is too healthy for you, add gelato! They offer kombucha floats using local Revolution Gelato or Honeysuckle Gelato. There isn't a food menu per say, but there is a vegan cheese board available using local Pure Abundance cashew cheese. I can't wait to try this! Cultured South is all about fermentation. Very chill place. Absolutely GREAT kombucha. (Really, the best I've ever had) Kombucha is brewed on site. Lots of edgy / cool flavors. Kratom "shots" are pretty heavy duty. Not tasty - but they are very effective. The kava is hot, gritty and intensely flavored. Definitely not for first timers. However - again it is certainly "effective". (No one drinks kava because it tastes good. The staff is friendly, welcoming and nice to talk with. Seats are a bit "severe"... Outside seating is more easy going - but not during the heat of summer. The flavors are really fun, they brew it right there and the proprietor, Melanie, is really knowledgeable. They also serve food and the lady sitting next to us ordered the turkey panini for her 12 yo brother and he loved it. We had the pickled vegies, which were delicious, and a good snack. They were a good accompaniment to the flight of 5 kombuchas that we got. Favorite, hands down, is the cream soda. What I also loved were the patrons that came in.
