I decided to swing by Culver's on Tower Rd for dinner on a Friday night. The drive-thru wasn't busy & I was able to place & pay for my order quickly. The employee at the window was super friendly & asked how my day was & if I was enjoying the snow. The restaurant is relatively new & the front outdoor patio, parking lot plus drive- thru was very clean. Culver's food is always fresh not frozen, & cooked to order. I had about a 10 minute wait for my food & it was worth the wait! Culver's is known for their Butter Burgers, Frozen Custard & Wisconsin Cheese Curds & oddly enough I've never tried any of these. I've always had the North Atlantic 2 piece Cod Dinner & it's fantastic! "The cod is hand cut, hand battered and golden fried after you order." The meal comes with two sides & a dinner roll. The Cod was absolutely golden & perfectly cooked, but needed more seasoning. The tartar sauce was delicious & comes in good-size to-go containers. I had their creamy Coleslaw & crispy Crinkle Cut Fries too. The Coleslaw portion was on the smaller side & the fries were on the larger side...I had left overs. Also, the Fries lacked salt. This is one of my favorite places to go for Fish & Chips, next time maybe I'll try something else on the menu! read more

I rarely eat fast food, but I was in the area, and the ice cream actually caught my eye. I figured I would go ahead and grab lunch as well. It wasn't super busy, and the staff at the drive-thru were super friendly and patient while we made our way through the menu. You pay and then pull up and wait for them to bring it out to you because they are apparently making it to order (or so their marketing says). They were surprisingly fast bringing it out. I don't know, maybe that explains it. We ordered a double butterburger, fish sandwich, fries, and a chocolate concrete. All I can say is the burger, fries, and sandwich had no flavor. I mean, salt goes a long way. The fish and burger were a bit dry and overdone. If there was tartar sauce on the fish, it was barely there. The concrete was marginally better. I mean, it's hard to mess up chocolate ice cream, and I felt they gave me a lot of the cookie dough mix in. I also got salted caramel, and there was nothing salted about it. In fact, it kind of made the ice cream taste plastic-y? Honestly, I don't know if I'll be back. They do have quite the menu, like chicken sandwiches and other fish items. Oh, and apparently cheese curds. And I acknowledge things can vary by location, too. I think this just won't be something I actually seek out. read more

I get a craving for fast food maybe four or five times a year. So when I wanted a burger and some cheese curds, Culver's was the obvious choice. It was a Friday night and this location was popping, the drive thru line went all the way around the building, We walked in to order and boy, was the staff friendly but it took a long time to get our food (not to mention everyones else's). We took it to go and sadly, it wasn't as glorious as I remembered. The mushroom Swiss burger seemed limp and sad where on the other hand, the cheese curds were overtired and hard. I've been to another location in the area and will probably go to that one instead in the next few months when I get my next fast food craving. read more

I have to give their advertising agency five stars because their commercial reeled me in with their folksy fishtail. Dang, they got me. Too bad it wasn't much like the commercial though. First of all, I do not recommend dining in. ALL the empty tables were dirty. All of them. If you do want to dine in, bring your Clorox wipes because you're gonna' need 'em. Most people opt for the drive-through, and now I know why. This brings up another point, the line of cars for the drive-through can get so long, you won't be able to back out of your spot. I would seriously recommend backing in to park there so it's easier to get out. OK, now for the food. We wanted to try the fish because it looked so good in the commercial. We particularly wanted walleye but it was out of season. They should mention that on the menu. We went for the only other fish available, cod. It was good quality but it was tasteless...and no, I don't have COVID. The only thing I could taste was the tartar sauce. The fries are basic crinkle-cut fries that are similar to the frozen fries you buy at the grocery store and heat in the oven. We had some frozen custard and it was really good. They have a nice selection of fountain drinks, including really good root-beer, both regular and diet, which is really rare. The service is good, and the people work hard. It wasn't cheap. We spent about $50 for two fish dinners, two medium drinks, and two single scoops of frozen custard. The place was crazy busy, so they must be doing something right. For me, one and-done for Culvers. I give it a very soft as their frozen custard, three stars. read more

My partner is from Wisconsin, so this is definitely a go to spot for us when we are in a rush or need a last-minute quick dinner. He is a chef, so sometimes this is kind of a late night spot for us since they're open until at least 10 PM. He often will pick up our favorites at the drive-through or sometimes we will even dine in. I also love picking up the pints of frozen custard when going over to friend's house or parties. I grew up in Hawaii, so definitely didn't grow up with Culver's. However, in comparison to other fast food burger spots I definitely prefer Culver's. I really enjoyed just a single burger deluxe and a half and half custard. We often get an extra custard to share and put it in the freezer and enjoy it the next evening afterwards. Most recently I picked up takeout and went through the drive-through. It was a rainy evening and they were busy. I ordered a strawberry fields salad and a chili supreme. Unfortunately, they forgot the dressing packet, but I did enjoy the salad with dressing at home. Typically our drive-through and takeout experiences always go pretty smoothly with great customer service. Sometimes there is a wait but we always love it because we know that our french fries will be fresh and hot. This location sometimes is short staffed, so definitely be patient with them and keep that in mind if you are in a rush. Other items that we enjoy are the cheese curds, chicken tenders, shrimp basket, and even their custard of the day selections. read more

What an excellent palate cleanser after the Thornton experience. The restaurant was spotless. The staff was friendly and fast. And the food was a bullseye. This time I got the new limited offering, Pepper Grinder Pub Burger. This thing was packed with flavor. The bun has everything seasoning on it, and now that flavor isn't just for bagels. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the temperature was ideal. And, finally, I got to try the new Dark Chocolate PB Crunch. It was very good. The one thing I will say is that it seemed more like a Concrete than a mixed flavor. Still delicious, though. read more

I remember when I was driving past this area a couple months ago and saw that they were building a Culver's! I could not contain my excitement. So long McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell and Wendy's. I'll be up the street at Culver's. I feel like this chain doesn't get the hype that it deserves. It's rarely talked about, yet it's at the top of my list for best fast food chains of all time. The location is great considering the strip mall that it's in is never too busy and parking is a plenty. The drive-thru was organized and moved quickly for being in it's early stages of operation. Staff were friendly, but still working out some kinks. No big deal. I went with my usual order of a crispy chicken sandwich and crinkle cut fries. It wasn't as good as other Culver's I have been to, but with time I'm sure the food will get there. Overall, this is a great addition to this side of Aurora and I'm stoked about this new fast food option! read more

Speaking for the Aurora location, I like them, especially for their fish sandwiches, cheese curds and frozen custard. Their staff is friendly and professional, and the restaurant is clean and laid back. But the food can be hit or miss, considering the price. My wife and I dined in recently, and I decided to try the pot roast sandwich. She had a chicken tenders basket. The crinkle cut fries were hot and tasty, with just enough salt, but the chicken tenders were surprisingly kind of meh. Maybe it was an off night. The big disappointment was the pot roast sandwich, which was dry and almost tasteless--even the horseradish sauce didn't add any life to it--I had to use my wife's boom boom sauce to perk it up. In the end, our taste buds (and our mood) were saved by a fresh cup of coffee and a couple scoops of frozen custard that we ordered to go. Still, the meal wasn't quite worth the $30. we laid out for it. read more

Newly opened location. They are getting it together slowly but surely. Late night visit for a burger and onion rings. Rings were plentiful and super crispy, just at that right point before they could go terribly wrong. Always a new flavor of custard each day. Salted Carmel Pumpkin concrete mixer was probably a bit too good to know it exists. One of those things I rarely indulge in but soooo good. I am so bummed about this review. It WAS on Sunday at noon so we expected them to be busy and they were! We hadn't been to a Culvers in a few years and the local commercials featuring the fish were really enticing to my husband. The gentleman who took our order came across as your average burned out fast food employee. Mom and I each ordered a deluxe single, hers with fries and mine with onion rings. Hubby ordered the 2 piece cod plate with coleslaw and fries. The drive thru lane passed the window we were seated at, and it was a VERY busy drive thru! It was moving! The lobby had a small smattering of people but nothing like that drive thru! Gradually we started to see food being delivered to tables around us. We saw new people come in and place their order, sit down and receive their order. Here we sat....waiting. Mom got up to inquire and someone yelled back for the status. Mom was told it was coming up next. She returned. We continued to wait. When the food finally arrived, the burgers were cold as if they had been sitting somewhere. The fries and onion rings were slightly warm but still crispy. I assume the coleslaw was good because my husband inhaled it and the only taste I got was a dip of a few fries in the remaining juice. Now....if you have bore thru with me to this point, you should know that I bumped this from a 2 to a 3 while writing this review for one simple reason. THE FISH. Y'all, my husband offered me a bite and I had IMMEDIATE buyers regret. Don't get me wrong. I love burgers...and it really wasn't horrible even cold but THE FISH. Hot. Crispy. Buttery. Oh so buttery. One gifted bite turned into a full out swap....he took the last 2 bites of my burger and graciously gave me more bites of the fish. So, go for the fish. I truly hope it was just an "off" day for the staff and customer service and speed has or will improve. read more

I have to give them 2 stars today for customer service and relations. Today is their fish fry Friday. My wife and I come every Friday for the fish fry, and once a week for the burgers. The food is always prepared properly and very tasty. Except for today. My wife and I both had the 2pc cod dinner with the cheese curds, and I had a side of onion rings. The onion rings had been left in the fryer To long and we're basically overcooked and saturated with fry oil. I asked a staff member if I could get some new ones. He said he would ask the mngr. When the mngr/part owner arrived I showed him the onion rings. He asked, would I like something else? I said another pcs of fish ? He replied no. I replied ok that's fine, nothing then. Then I asked him would u eat the rings, and did he think they were overcooked and greasy. He replied, well that's your personal preference then eat them or dont. When I asked him again, we're they over cooked? He dismissed me and said he didn't have time to discuss it and left. NOTE it was very busy and fully staffed.And I have observed this employee be dismissive to other customers in the past. I have worked in the food service industry for 20yrs as a executive Chef in the country club industry. If this individual was in my employment, he would of been dissaplined and retrained in customer service and relations. Even though I was disappointed and dissatisfied with his handling of the situation, we will continue to patronize the shop, and hope for a more enjoyable experience in the future. read more

Here from California and we had never been to Culver's before. We stopped in for a quick dinner to get out of the storm. We were greeted by the employees, all with friendly smiles. A gentleman came around after we sat down waiting for our order, and he offered us samples of their frozen custard, once again with a big smile! We had noticed a discrepancy with our order and he had it fixed before our food came out. Not used to this helpful service or smiling faces in California. As he left our table, he said, "have a nice dinner". Again, not used to that, it was just really nice. We noticed staff was out on the floor, cleaning tables, chairs and the trim on the walls. This establishment was very clean. Our food was very good, we encountered more friendly staff and did not feel pressured to leave while we sat at our table and waited for the rain to calm down. The owner visited our table a few times and offered us frozen custard samples but we were just so full and had to decline. We did have the chocolate peanut butter concrete and the mint Oreo concrete, the pub burger with onion rings, pretzel bites and the cheese curds. I had an ice cream order for $5.44. I gave the cashier $20.50. It took 3 of them to give me back correct change. The first 2 were rude and snarky. Almost as if it was my fault they couldn't math, even after using their cell phone calculators. At this point, nothing else matters. I won't be back. Went through drive-thru at lunch time. The line moved quickly. I got the double deluxe burger basket. I added mushroom. It was good, but expensive for a drive-thru burger combo at $11.76. Meat was seasoned well, but the lettuce and tomatoes were not so great. I wish they had crisp iceburg lettuce and a juicy tomato. They use shredded lettuce and a very thin slice of tomato which wilts with the heat of the burger. The cheese and pickles were good. Waste of money adding the mushrooms because I couldn't really taste them. Crinkle fries and sweet tea were good. Service was quick. Drivethru worker and attendee that brought out my meal were very nice and friendly. Just wish the burger was elevated more for the cost. read more
