We enjoyed the lunch Jerk Chicken with a slide of fried Plantains. The flavor was exceptional--reminding me of my multiple visits to Jamaica. You will definitely feel like your tastebuds entered an authentic experience! This is not a place you want to come to if you're in a rush--call ahead for take-out--just like true Jamaican vibes, the service is slow, but so worth the wait--no pre-cooked barrels of food you can tell that this restaurant takes their time perfecting their jerk sauce and putting a lot of love into their food. Shoutout to Keron who helped us. If Reggae Pot Jamaican Grill on Monaco played music--especially reggae, I would have given 5 stars instead of 4! We will DEFINITELY be back!!!!!

The…read moreonly things I can really enjoy at a Jamaican restaurant are rice and peas, mac and cheese, and plantain. As I went into the restaurant, I was greeted with a smile. The person who took my order, who was a woman, was very nice at first. Then I started asking questions about the Rasta Pasta to see if they could take out any meat if there was any. Come to find out they have shrimp in their Rasta Pasta. She checked with the kitchen to see if they can remove the shrimp, and they said yes. I asked another question: can I know how much food comes with the Rasta Pasta? She said it's a big amount. I was wondering if I can get a small amount. When I asked that, she seemed so annoyed to go back to the kitchen to ask them if I can get a smaller amount of Rasta pasta. This is when she started to become a little bit rude. When she came back from the kitchen, she told me, "Yes, they can make a smaller portion of Rasta Pasta." But then, this being my first time at this restaurant, I thought maybe I could eat a little bit and then save the rest for later or tomorrow. I then changed my mind from a smaller portion to a bigger portion. I understand when you're dealing with an indecisive person at the moment, it can get a little annoying, but when you work at a restaurant, whether you're the owner or not, that is so rude. She then said this to me, "That's a lot of food for one person." Without her even knowing if I have siblings or not, or if I am sharing this with someone, she just assumed that it's all for me just because of how I looked (I had planned to eat a little then save it for the next couple of days). I do look a bit overweight, but for her to point that out, that's so rude. I almost cried in my car when I walked back to it after leaving the restaurant. I'm currently on a weight loss journey, but for her to say that and not even know me almost broke me. The atmosphere was okay at first, but obviously that went downhill as I was leaving the restaurant. The only good thing that I actually enjoyed that I got from there was the coconut cake and the mac and cheese...

STAR #1: Location is prime, easy to get to and offers a lot of parking. Score! The interior is spacious, offers seating for parties of any size and features Korean decor - fun! STAR #2: Service is so friendly, welcoming and nice. We chose a seat a little in the middle and within seconds, our server arrived. She provided great recommendations for sauces on wings, explained that in order to try more than one sauce - we had to order more wings - specials on appetizers and brought boxes promptly. love! STAR #3: We started with an order of fried dumplings, which were decent. Next our 30 counts of wings (too many but that made for leftovers) but they were absolutely delicious! Perfectly breaded and crispy, drenched in sauce - get the gangnam style - and so, so good! We also had a side of fries, which rounded out the meal well. The menu offers ramen, other fun dishes and sides as well, but chicken is the name of the game here. STAR #4: Pricing is on point here - for the quality and quantity you get. I'd easily return again!

I pulled up to the drive-thru speaker at 1:40 AM and sat there waiting. After about a minute, I started saying, "Excuse me?" a few times. Absolute silence. So I drove around. There was a car at the first window literally waving someone down. Looked like they needed ketchup or sauces because apparently that's the only way to get an employee's attention after 1:40 AM. When they left, I pulled up around 1:43-1:44 AM and had to wave someone down myself. The employee finally opened the window, and I immediately noticed she wasn't even wearing a headset. So the drive-thru wasn't being ignored by accident--they just weren't taking orders anymore. She asked, "Do you need something?" I said, "Yeah, I'd like to order." Her response: "We're closing down." Me: "Don't y'all close at 2?" Her: "Yeah." Me: "It's 1:43... not 2." Her: "I know." So I asked, "If it's not 2 AM yet, shouldn't you still be operating?" Her response? "Uhhh..." That pretty much told me everything I needed to know. I just said, "Don't worry about it." She asked if I was sure. At that point, why would I still want food from a place that was actively trying not to serve customers? Wait here's the best part... The manager was standing right behind her the ENTIRE time and never stepped in. Look, I understand wanting to get out on time. Everybody wants to go home after work. But if you're getting paid until 2 AM and your doors are open until 2 AM, then maybe... hear me out... serve customers until 2 AM. I've always had Cane's right behind Chick-fil-A After this? Y'all are drifting into the same lane as late-night McDonald's, and that's not a compliment. If you want to close at 1:40, then change the sign. Otherwise, honor the hours you advertise.

As a result of very poor service at a Lakewood location, we hadn't been to a KFC in over 20 years…read more Due to the new 8-pc for free coupon, we thought we'd give the Havana location a try. Issue #1. We arrived and discovered that to get the promo, we had to order through the app. We did so and told the guy at the counter, so they'd know we were already in the store and waiting. He confirmed that he could see the order pending. He gave us our soda cups and we sat down to wait. The app said that it might take up to 20 min for our order to be ready. After 15 min, I noticed that there had been an order sitting in the pickup area for a while, and I got suspicious. I stood in line for 5 minutes to find out that WAS our order, sitting there getting cold. Before going on break, that guy had not told anyone else that we were already there waiting. Whatever. Mistakes happen, right? Issue #2: Pulling out all our food onto the table, I was upset that there was so much waste created by them packing it up thinking it was a to-go order. I still cannot believe how much trash came out of just one order. There were plastic bags, paper bags, an overabundance of napkins and sauces, a big handful of wrapped plastic forks, a cup carrier, as well as three more filled sodas, even though we already were given our soda cups at the beginning. Then, each food item was packed in its own individual food container, a box or plastic bowl. I'm not a tree hugger by any stretch of the imagination (child of the 70's and 80's), but even I felt guilt over how badly the environment was being treated here. Issue #3: One of the items on the app that we ordered, the mashed potato poppers, was not provided, so I addressed the issue at the counter. The person nonchalantly said they weren't available anymore, but corporate hadn't fixed the app yet, so they had unilaterally decided to give us an extra side of mashed potatoes instead. I found and returned that side to them and requested instead fried pickles that were reported on the internet to now be available, but weren't on the app yet. Issue #4: Now that we had our food all settled, we sat down to eat. Oh, the disappointment. I wish I would have taken photos! The biscuits were super hard and dry, like they had been made the day before and left out overnight. They went straight to the trash. Note: Their buttery sauce is mainly oil and contains a trace amount of milk solids. Their honey sauce contains only 7% honey and is primarily high fructose corn syrup. Absolutely unacceptable. The chicken nuggets were so tiny, only a toddler might be pleased to be served this ridiculousness due to the novelty of being the size of the end of your pinky. I am not exaggerating. I could have placed all five nuggets in my mouth at once and still spoke clearly without anyone guessing that I had any food in my mouth. Please do not waste your money on their "nuggets". The fried pickles ranged from decent to so overcooked that I couldn't even chew the dry, shriveled up, piece. Again, like the nuggets, they were served in an oversized box, that screamed, "I enjoy killing the environment with my excessive waste!" In the store, their menu says that they have cherry pie poppers, but they really only have apple....well, maybe they had apple filling in them at one point in time. By the time we received them, they were hollow and stale pieces of pastry that even Walmart wouldn't sell. (And let me tell you, some of Walmart's pie pastry's aren't fit for human consumption.) After a bite of those apple pie poppers that had clearly been prepared many hours before, they went straight to the trash. The Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, and Corn were exactly as expected, decent. The bowl had too many mashed potatoes and not enough 'other' to counteract. The clear winner in our visit was the Pot Pie. Even thought it was a little lacking in the amount of filling, it hit the spot quite nicely. So, the take away from this visit is if you are going to visit KFC, stick with the basics and steer clear of all the new gimicky food. If you go into the store, order at the register, tell them you are eating there so you don't need all the extra packaging, and wait at the counter for them to serve your food, so you can ensure you get exactly what you order, and you can eat it while it is still hot.

Did not receive a 50 piece popcorn chicken. More like 20 pieces, don't recommend false advertising.read more
