We have been to many Culver's in a variety of locations, but this one was new to us, being nearby to the airport, where we had just arrived after a full day of flight. We were hungry and knew what we wanted to eat but ended up moderately pleased and equally disappointed. Quick an efficient stop for dinner! 7pm on a Sunday, the drive thru line was very long but it went very quick! Ordering was speedy and easy, the drive thru monitor was easy to read and my order was 100% correct! I got the kids meal & kids custard and it came out to just under $8. The runners were helpful with my requests for ketchup, and my food came out in a timely manner. There are serious problems with this location, the food is great, when you get what's ordered, but it's impossible to believe today's example... we had an email from the manager giving us a free Value Basket because just one week ago we got home and found out one of the double cheeseburgers was missing, so we ordered 3 Value Baskets including the free one tonight, my wife opens the bag in the kitchen when she got home and surprise the bottled water that was supposed to be the drink for the one basket, not there! Looking for a quick place in between work meetings, we came to Culver's. Service was super friendly as soon as we walked in the door. They had one staff walking around with samples of the flavor of the day. Another staff cleared our table and was very friendly. I would really have to give this location a better rating, however I can't. We went through the drive thru to order one kids meal and one pup. The person taking our order was rude and rang in our order incorrectly twice before getting it correct. We then proceed to the payment window, no one spoke to us, and as soon as they handed us our card back, shut the window. No words were spoken. We then waited 10+ mins to recieve only half of our order. I finally went in side to get our missing items. We asked for our custard in a cone- they put it in a dish. This 6th and Layton location has become NOTORIOUS for missing items in my drive thru orders. It ALWAYS seems to be one item , of my usually LARGE order ! So, I'm out $4.25 , and the employees are probably wondering why they have an extra cheeseburger on their rack. This is happening REGULARLY ! When I got home, and realized the cheeseburger was missing, I had to go back out , to the Miller Park location , and get another single cheeseburger, well done, ketchup only, for my wife ! This is probably the fifth time it's happened. The first time , I called the location, they said , "just come in , and we'll give you your cheeseburger". I get this on the way home from work. This Culver's used to be great, but they have gotten very sloppy with order fulfillment over the past year. Items are often missing from the order. Today, for example, they left out the coleslaw from my fish dinner, and it's too far to drive back to pick it up. When I have called in the past about missing items, they do offer to make it up, but they make it extra difficult, since I have to come inside, ask for the manager, wait literally 10 or 15 minutes for them to "check", and then place my order, instead of being able to do it from the app. This time, I've learned my lesson, and I'm not going to bother. There are very few fast food restaurants that I will patronize, and this is one of them. I have discovered that when you enter off of Layton (East/West), the adjoining parking lot is easier to get in and out of than the 6th Street entrance and lot. Initially, it looked chaotic and backed up due to the long line of cars, but the staff was very efficient. If you prefer to do drive thru then the 6th Street entrance is the best way. The inside of the restaurant is always kept clean and if not, a quick mention to the staff at the counter will fix that. Everyone has always been friendly and efficient when I go there. I recently went to 575 W. Layton Ave. location for a 4 piece Normal NONspicy chicken tenders Value Meal. 2 of the tenders were UNedible due to the amount of HOT SPICE on them! The other 2 tenders were Contaminated due to being Deep Fried in the Same Oil as the SPICY ones. When is THIS LOCATION going to learn to use a SEPARATE Fryer for the SPICY Food and a Different Fryer for the NORMAL NONspicy Food?!? I haven't visited This location in 6 Months due to their Inability to have the SPICY and NONspicy food Fried SEPARATELY. They ask you to park and take your order snd relay it to a member inside. The service was pretty quick. They gave a sticky note with our order number and attached it to our window. Getting here was surreal, turning into the parking lot, the guy in front of me cut off an MCTS bus barreling up 6th St, so cheated death there... Then in the restroom, there's an older guy blocking the soap pumper because he's brushing his teeth- but, with a bottle of 7 Up and 2 flasks of vodka or schnapps on the counter... But, both of these dudes had beards- coincidence? I think not. But the food came out fast! Next time I have to remember to get a grilled chicken instead of crispy chicken. And probably no fries. Our "family" Culver's. I think if you live in WI, every family has their "family" Culver's. It's the one that's local to you where you celebrate after the game or hit on Friday's for the fish fry. For us, this is that Culver's. It's a good one! Some great staff, LONG TERM staff to boot! There are some senior folks behind the counter and in the kitchen that I've seen for 10 years. The food is good and pretty quick, especially considering how busy they always seem to be. I'm going to ding them a star just because the drive-thru is basically worthless. Not due to the staff or their speed, but it's got a tremendously wonky layout that wraps it around the building. At times, it blocks people from getting in and out of parking spaces. Got in late and didn't want to stray too far from the hotel. Culver's was walking distance so my coworkers and I decided to give it a go. It's a fast food type restaurant. When you walk in, you'll see a huge board behind the counter with all their menu options. The other side of the place is all seating. The restaurant can seat quite a few people. First thing I noticed was how many employees were behind the counter, and they were all working! Couldn't believe how much staff they had and no one was standing around on their phones. They worked very hard and had great personalities. My coworker had a few questions about the menu and the guy answered them all happily. Food was just alright. We all went for the cheese curds and for fast food they were pretty decent. Would still prefer bar food version or homemade, but given the situation it was not too bad. Also ordered chicken tenders for the following day. Snuck in a bite while still hot and they were pretty good. Nothing real greasy which I like. We all had a malt shake (yes it was 1 degree outside, but they looked so good!) and dang those were delicious. I loved Culvers when I lived in Minneapolis. The burgers are delicious and are made out of meat. They even look like meat! The moment I landed in WI I Yelp searched culvers. Low and behold one was a couple miles away. As usual the staff was neat friendly and courteous. They get the order right as far as I am concerned, always. They also bring the order to the table for and any condiments required. Clean restaurant, good service, good food. It's Culver's. This could be a model Culver's. Culver's has built success on top of delivering a good experience consistently, and this location certainly does that. On the flip side, it's a chain... As usual, there will be a random flavor of the day of their very good custard (sorry, Kopp's is better, but Culver's is everywhere), your burger will be served well-done, the fries are very good, and there'll be someone wandering around cleaning tables, which is always nice to see. The menu selections are varied and diverse, and they've started to offer more "dinner-ish" items recently. However, you're still looking at what is essentially a custard stand, so expect that they're going to be best at sandwiches, of which there are a wide variety. On the flip side, there's this weird sameness to everything Culver's offers, can't quite put my finger on it. It just fails to excite me. I don't think it's anything they're doing wrong. So I'm probably a jerk for waffling between three, four, and five stars... If you haven't tried it, do try it. read more

This Culver's is a pretty standard Culver's ... Food is fine. The reason I'm giving three stars is two reasons. One, there is absolutely no place for a discernable line. It's just a cluster of people standing around and you have no idea who's there waiting for food or waiting to order. I've been skipped many times and the employees don't say anything. Another issue I have is how often they have forgotten to add something to my concrete mixers. I usually don't notice until I'm home. I also tend to get 3 things which is an extra 50 cents, so I pay for it but don't receive what I'm supposed to. Recently I asked for a mixer either Kit Kat and they didn't add any. About a week later I go back and order Oreo and double Kit Kat. I'm thinking there's no way they'd forget them this time since I ordered double... Nope. They forgot them entirely. Then when I went in and asked for a new one (it was slightly melted and figured whatever I'd rather have one that's not liquidy) the manager was rude about it. Really dude? It was a mini size which is like 3 dollars. It really bugged me that he made me feel stupid for asking and kind of embarrassing me in front of a bunch of customers. Omg, I hate to admit I ordered the Butter Burger here and it was as good as everyone raved about! But I hate that I ate a hamburger fried in butter and felt so guilty afterwards.. Since I hail from the land of fruit and nuts, I vowed to eat healthier during the next few days.
