Just ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger basket. Huge mistake. Fries and onion rings were fine. The burger patty is another issue. The sandwich is very bland, but perhaps that's because the patty is so thin. So thin in fact, that the mushroom slices were thicker (not exaggerating). When you consider this is a $5 sandwich, you're left wondering, "What the heck did I just pay for?" I feel ripped off. The gas station across the street has a better burger, and when you're business is burgers, that's pathetic. read more

This place is hit-or-miss. I work in the industrial park nearby, and come here pretty regularly. Some days, it's terribly busy, and the staff frazzled. Others, not so much so. My most recent experience was neither of the above. The place wasn't that busy, 3 cars in the parking lot, and yet, they were very sloppy in making a concrete mixer. The thing was all white on top, and very dark in the bottom, as if they couldn't bother to mix the flavoring all the way. Burger tastes like Wendy's. We had a Wisconsin friend rave about the Culver's burgers, as if they're on par with getting In-N-Out in California or Whataburger in Texas. Sorry, roger: you no tiger now. I've had the shakes from Culver's before (there's a north Austin outpost), but never the burgers. Figuring when in Rome, we made a pit-stop before crossing the Wisconsin-Illinois border. On the positive side, this Culver's is clean and quick. Suck it harder! The shake, that is. Seriously, I have a strong set of lungs and I couldn't budge that thing for a good long while. A thick milkshake is one thing, but this was absurd. Mary had the chocolate one and hers wasn't mixed well. I didn't like the cheese curds either, and the onion rings were burning hot (I hoped they would melt the milkshake a bit, but no luck). The prices were kind of high too--1 side of onion rings, 1 side of cheese curds, and 2 med shakes which weren't very big totalled $13. I have to disagree with Hannah and Ryan here. In fact, I decided to give this place an extra star than I would've originally given it(though I'm not one who'd give a Culver's 5 stars), since I don't think this location is deserving of one star. In fact, I've been to this location a couple times in the past, and I think for all the crowds it gets from being next door to the outlet mall, the staff handles the crowds very well. I've never once had a problem getting seated here, either, and the outside tables are a nice touch when the weather isn't unpleasant. Food I got here was as decent as any Culver's I've been to. The cleanness of this one could be slightly better, but it wasn't the dirtiest one I've been to. The one in the south Milwaukee suburb of Oak Creek easily takes that title! read more

Perfect place to eat after shopping at pleasant prairie mall. Culver's is a great place for families, they have cozy booths and flat screens all around. I was debating on a 3 or 4 for this place and trying not to be biased by comparing this spot to others. This is a fast food restaurant and honestly it's pretty good for fast food. So, I'll write this in terms of being under the fast food category. I had their create your own concrete mixer (peanut butter, Reese cups, and bananas. It's pretty good and super sweet of course. I also had their mushroom Swiss single patty burger. It's pretty good but I think the patty could be juicer. It's not dry though but definitely pretty good...for fast food. Came here after a very disappointing trip to the Jelly Belly Factory with residents from the retirement community in which I work. We pulled up and someone came out and held the door open for all of our residents, there was about 15 of us total. They were all VERY nice about helping out our residents in anyway they can. I was asked by someone, manager or something not sure, to fill out this slip of paper about who we were and why we were in the area, etc. It was neat. So we were done loading the bus and about to drive away when 2 of the girls there came out and onto the bus and thanked us for joining them and that they enjoyed us being there and to make sure to come back again. I have always enjoyed the food I get at Culvers. This is a good location, but it can get slammed around lunch time due to the outlet mall and people just trying to get in a quick bite before heading back to work. Unfortunately, when it is that crowded I tend to leave and find somewhere else to eat as the order area is a mass of humanity with people standing in line, waiting for food, looking at the menu, etc and I just don't have the patience to deal with it. Stick with the burgers. Got adventurous and decided to try their reuben. Might be OK for all the light eaters out there. But the price is comparable to a real deli sandwich. Or even in a restaurant diner. There is hardly any corned beef on it though. A slice, maybe 2 slices thick across the whole sandwich. Not the 4 or 5 inch high sandwich I've come to expect. You can look at the picture where what i got was supposed to be a lemon ice with mango; it should definitely not look like that. I have had them before from the Culver's on Green Bay Road, in Kenosha and it does not look like that. You can even tell i have not touched this by how it looks, the mango syrup is sitting on top- not yet mixed in. Just saying from the side it did not even fill up half of the bottom portion of the custard cup. WOW, I've never experienced a crazier parking lot. People were crazy to get themselves some Culvers!! We stopped in for a bite on the way home from Milwaukee. Staff was super friendly. Wait times were a little long and fragmented-- even though we ordered in succession of each other, there would be big gaps in food arriving, so some of us were almost done and the others had yet to receive anything. That may just come with the "made to order" territory though. My sister got mayo on her no-mayo burger, and they graciously made her another one. I ordered the strawberry field chicken salad, which was large and pretty good. My only complaint is that there aren't pictures or descriptions of the salads. I didn't know what I'd get on there besides strawberries and chicken, but since I was hungry and tired, I didn't bother to ask either (it came with a nice piece of grilled chicken, mixed greens, pecans, bleu cheese, and tomatoes). Everyone else's food came out hot, and was satisfactory to all of them. I'm always impressed at how they are always cleaning up tables, vacuuming, etc etc. The service at Culvers is always top notch! Ok yes Culvers is a fast good place like all others so it is not the place to go if you are on a diet. However, I am from the east coast and taking my friends here for Wisconsin Cheese Curds is always on the list. For one thing they never know what to expect and for my foodie friends who are used to late night talks over mozzarella sticks this is all the better! They do have burgers and such but to me they are nothing to brag about, there not bad there just not great. Meaning they are the same to me as any other fast food place. Outside of the cheese curds I do have to say their desserts, such as sundaes, and such are amazing. The service is SUCKS. It was very long and slow. My meals is cold and buns is over cooked. We waited for long time and happened to noticed that other customers are not happy with the service too. This place is amazing! My whole family has worked here and I used to work at this location as well. The service isn't always quick and no one is perfect but I truly love every visit. The manager go out over there way to make sure you live happy and your food is perfect. I know first hand the standards are for the employees and branch. Oh, dear Pleasant Prairie Culver's, you're frequently my first dose of Wisconsin friendliness after crossing over the Illinois-Wisconsin border and you rarely disappoint. Your workers offer a hearty "Hello!" before I'm even fully in the door. You don't bat an eye when my husband and I order the kids' meals (which are a fantastic deal at less than $6). Your chicken fingers, butterburgers, cod sandwiches and turtle sundaes are all crave-worthy. You always want to make things right. Any time we've had any sort of small misstep, you've made up for it beyond what is expected. I'm a huge fan, I really am. One small request for you though. Could you please stock your bathrooms with a gentler smelling soap? The intensity of the fragrance on my hands is highly distracting as I'm taking down my meal. Today, I went here for a late lunch and ordered one of their baskets, which included a sandwich, drink, and fries. I had it ordered to go, so once I got my bag of food, I left to return to work. When I got back, I opened the bag to find only my sandwich. My fries were missing. I immediately called to inform them of the mistake and asked for a solution. I was told that I could return to get my fries, and that I would receive a free sundae for the inconvenience. He asked for my name so he could write this down in the credit book. About 4 hours later, I returned (after work) to get my fries and sundae. When I got to the register, I explained the situation. My credit was not written down in the credit book, and once they confirmed that I had called earlier, I was given my fries. I was not given the sundae, and I did not want to remind them of what they had promised before. It was pretty obvious that these employees are so disorganized that not only could they forget my fries, but they failed to keep the promises that they made. I recommend that if you choose to order something from here, make sure you get what you ordered BEFORE you leave. It will make it easier to avoid false promises from them later. Also, there is one employee here that had upset me in the prior year that now I feel I should mention. He learned that I was from Illinois, and his response was "I'm sorry" and then he continued with this so called joke that living in Illinois is worse than living in Wisconsin. Culvers is a definite step up from typical fast food burger joints with far more options and better quality. To the lady that complained about getting her gluten free bun wrapped in plastic, come on - you just got a gluten free sandwich in a drive thru, cut them a break. By the way, it stays in the wrapper until you eat it to help retain moisture and not be the texture of cardboard which is so often a problem with gluten free buns. Our family frequents Culver's religiously. We have always enjoyed the food and the service. The place felt "humid/sticky", the bathroom was less than desirable, there was no ice for the soda (which none of the cashiers mentioned, otherwise, we would have not ordered our drinks), the burger baskets we ordered-the meats were burned, and the wait time was much longer than all the times we have been eating at Culver's. We were quite disappointed for the family always look forward to dining here, especially the young ones. We left as soon as the food arrived and did not address the issue to the manager at the time. I like their butter burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, salads and of course they soft serve custard. Very good burger spot to take the kids. They have seasonal foods like the lemon ice in the summer and Walleye in the spring. They do have a lot of younger kids working, so try to go before 9 to get the quickest service, as that's when most of their workers leave. read more

Even though they were extremely busy staff continued to greet customers, wash tables, and ask customers how their experience had been. We both ordered the kids meal's - one grilled cheese and one chicken fingers, both of us had fries. Less than an hour later we both had the shits. Stick with the ice cream.
