Stopped by one of our favorite places and saw one of our friends. It was a nice surprise to see Erika and Layla and Annabelle working. It was a beautiful day. Our ice cold root beer in the frosty mug hit the spot. We ordered chicken nuggets and a burger and fries. All of which was serviced hot and was delicious. I love a good root beer, and a root beer float, and they can often be found at roadside drive-ins like these--and Kenosha seemed like the kind of place that may have one of those. We stopped at The Spot briefly just to get my root beer float and another drink. They had a menu that was quite a bit more extensive than I would have expected, to be honest, and though some of it looked like something I wanted to try (particularly the pickles) we didn't have time to wait for them to cook. The root beer float isn't the best I've had, but it was fine. It's a car hop model, which I didn't realize at first since I'm used to places with carside service having a different kind of physical structure and this was basically just a parking lot. I don't know for certain if they are cash only but that would be my guess. read more

I'm a bit disappointed today. I ordered coconut shrimp, fried mushrooms, onion ring, and a cheese burger. All of the fried foods were too overcooked. I should have taken them back. The cheese burger didn't have cheese on it. Burger tasted good and the rest was too burnt to eat. I ate some of the shrimp, but it was still overcooked. Spending $28 on food and five dollars on a tip, I would expect the food to be better. I am a customer every two or three weeks so I'm actually pretty surprised that everything was burnt and a little bit off. I love their food usually, not today for this chef. Next time it will be better. Maybe just an off day or too busy. read more

Always a great burger. Drive in waitress comes over to take order- and delivers/cleans up after as well. They have a few tables outside if you don't feel like eating in your car. Can't go wrong ordering a burger with everything. Would like to try their chicken sandwich with their homemade sriracha sauce... but who can deny the cheeseburger? Root beer is the bomb- stilled served in the glass mug. They changed their crinkle cut fries to regular straight fries- they're ok. I'd like them to be fried crispier. Onion rings though- outstanding. Although, you only get a handful. They only take cash- come prepared! (ATM on site). read more

I don't know how to explain my disappointment and horror at the state of this place. I just popped in and the food was fine, but it was just so toxic inside this place. In my time there, I parked close and kept the windows open, I heard numerous sexual assault (jokes? Promises?) deeply disturbing language about what I assume was other employees. Some of the names I heard was Dillon or Drake, I don't know. But these toxic immature boys were saying the worst stuff I have ever heard. And worst of all it looked like management was scolding these girls for getting angry that these boys are acting so horrid. I also heard that apparently a couple months ago, from someone who used to work there, that employees were sharing that crash video that happened in the beginning of May at Sheridan Road and 85th Street. When apparently the child of one of the victims who passed and another woman who was in the crash both worked there AT THE SPOT!? Passing it around like juicy gossip, and apparently really upsetting both families involved in the crash. I'm never going back, and I advise everyone to stay away from this rotted hole of an establishment. If this is what I have heard as just a semi- frequent attender of the spot, I can only imagine how bad it is inside this place. Managers and owners who continue to not protect their more vulnerable workers deserve their place of work boycotted. Do you really want these people making your food? read more

The waitress obviously hates her job but like don't make my ordering experience shitty because of some shit that had nothing to do with us.we were looking for a decent interaction when giving the lady our order but she just seemed so over it and was already walking when we were finished ordering like it even a thank you we will get that started or an ok I'll be back. When we handed her the money for the order she dint even say she was taking the tip she just took money from what I got back. With that kind of attitude I would have given her shit back. Great drive in. Burgers were very tasty. I have been there twice in the last month. I brought a friend with me the second time.

Wife and I online ordered burgers and sides online around 10pm on June 23rd, 2025. She drove down (1/2 mile) when the order was to be ready. Brunette was sitting on a stool in front of the window with a drink. Saw wife pull up and ignored her. After 5 minutes my wife went up to the window to ask for her order. Man inside handed it to her. Zero comment or acknowledgment from the carhop. This is the first time we have ever been treated this way here. Big issue with this particular employee. Only 2 other cars in the lot. read more

The burgers were amazing, make sure to ask for the double cheese burger with grilled onions. It's an up charge but definitely takes the burger to another level. They also make home made root beer, and the floats were amazing. The floats come in a huge glass jug. The service is very quick. You will need cash to pay for your food as they do not accept credit cards. But they do have an ATM on site. This was my second time visiting, and it definitely will not be the last. read more

This place has incredible cheeseburgers. I suggest get it with their "everything"--- raw onions, ketchup, mustard and pickles. It's simply perfection. It was our first time there so we didn't know if we were supposed to order in the front of the restaurant, but when I approached the front, the one-and-only server tells me "I'll come to you." So within just a few minutes she came to our car and took our order. The wait was not long for our cheeseburgers, fries and root beer whirl. Be sure to have cash, as no cards are accepted. As stated previously, the cheeseburgers are tremendous! I was impressed that even though we didn't order it that way, the fries were nice and crispy. A root beer whirl is basically root beer blended with soft serve. Next time I'd probably get a regular root beer float instead. Love The Spot's custom logo wrappers and paper cups!! After a brief stop at the nearby outlet mall, I had time for lunch in Kenosha and wanted to stop someplace I hadn't been to before. The Spot Drive-in fit that bill. My order consisted of a plain double cheeseburger, fries, and a peppermint shake. My first disappointment came when I was told that their soda machine was down. I saw online that they make their own root beer and was looking forward to trying that. The person taking my order said that it very rarely goes down, but being told that didn't really help me on this visit. The peppermint shake that I ordered instead of their root beer had multiple issues. As you can see in the pictures I provided, the shake was basically devoid of peppermint. I found a couple large chunks at the bottom when I finished it, but for the most part all I could see and taste was plain custard, even with consistently stirring it around. Part of the reason I had to stir it around was it was far too thick to drink without trying to soften it up. The fries were sad. I'm thankful that they gave me a very large portion cup of ketchup because the fries had no flavor and, as they came in my bag, they completely lacked salt. After I was done with my lunch I found a single packet of salt at the bottom of the bag. I really would have preferred they just salted the fries ahead of time, though I don't know if that would have made much of a difference just like the one salt packet would have had I noticed it ahead of time. When I opened up the burger wrapper my first impression was "wow, that looks like a mess." Fortunately, the burger was pretty decent tasting. Even so, $5.59 for that particular burger is more than I personally would pay again. I guess the one good thing I can take from this visit is that I don't need to stop again and I can try other places I have bookmarked the next time I'm in Kenosha. read more

My last review is six years old and I want to tell you that nothing has changed. My bacon double cheeseburger was absolutely fantastic just like it's always been since I first started going here many years ago. The difference on this visit is I had the spicy fried green beans. They were fantastic as well with a nice kick. If you're like me and you want a cold beer with your burger you can go to the tavern next-door were they have takeout then go down to the Lakefront and find a little place to eat your fabulous burger with a cold one. Great old fashion place where you sit in your car and do the ordering and receiving and eating. The burgers here are one of my favorites out of any burger I've ever had ever. The burger tasted like it was boiled, the wings were generic and not good...and I didn't order them, I ordered nuggets but they make you pay before you see your order so I didn't realize the error until later. The rootbeer whirl was so bad, I couldn't tell if it was the ice cream or the rootbeer that was the issue. French fries were from a bag and not good ones from a bag. I'll start by saying I love a drive-in, so I was excited about this place to begin with. Arriving at The Spot, though, my boyfriend and I were initially confused. We parked on the side of the restaurant, unsure if they would come to us or if we should come to them? We sat in our car for just under 10 minutes with no sign of human life before debating walking up to the window. They already had signs up to designate "Spot Drive-In Parking Only," so maybe throwing up a "Stay in your car, we'll come to you" addition would be convenient. We ordered Bacon Cheeseburgers, Mozzarella Sticks, Fries with Cheese Sauce, and of course the Root Beer. It was a "treat yourself" kind of day, clearly. The cheeseburgers were delicious and exactly what we were expecting from a homey drive-in--greasy and satisfying. The mozzarella sticks were your typical frozen bulk and deep fried sticks, but I am not above a deep fried delight so they still hit the spot. The fries were not showstoppers in the slightest but the cheese sauce helped. The root beer was stellar. It comes in a massive frozen mug which was exciting until we realized vehicle cup holders are not meant for such a chalice. We paid $20 for the whole meal, so it's a pretty decent choice for a cheap date. Also important to know before heading here, they are cash only!! I've been coming to The Spot for over 25 years. Recently, I found myself in the neighborhood, at lunch time, and decided to pull in. I'm so glad I did. The place and the food hasn't changed a bit. I had a double cheeseburger with bacon...and of course...a root-beer. The burger was one of the best I've had in a loooong time! The root-beer is still homemade, and just as good as I remember. 7/10/24 ordered a double hamburger with everything, got a hamburger with one onion and one pickle, that's it. The beef was bland, tasteless all that for 5.69 what a deal. Next onion rings they came out nice but only received 5 small rings for 3.99. What a deal. I have been coming here for 27 years this has got to be the poorest tasting food I have ever eaten. If you love burgers and fries this is one of the best of the best if not better than the best!! The burger was freshly made and you could tell it was hand pressed just before it hit the grill. The bacon was real and not one of the fast food style. Thick and crispy is the way I like it. The French fries were really good as well! The one thing that I can add to make this an A++ is they make their own root beer and it comes in diet as well! If you have never been here, you must go out of your way and visit the establishment. Didn't mention that the atm machine wasn't working so wasted our time to tell us after the food was made (40 minutes of waiting) that they don't accept cash and she claim there was a bar next door so I walked the whole block and didn't see a bar.
