Located off of University Pkwy on the way to the Bradenton/Sarasota airport, this Culver's gets 5 stars for cleanliness, taste, & good customer service. The interior is very well designed and cleaned routinely by one of the staff members. It is expected of the customer to dispose of their trash in the designated trash bins yet there is still someone that comes to routinely sweep and make sure the tables are in order. The same person is also responsible for stocking the condiment section next to the fountain machine, which gives the restaurant an overall model look of organization. The food is average for Culver's standards so everything tasted excellent and fresh. The peanut butter shake was correctly measured ingredient-wise with a hefty portion of peanut butter which rocked. The girl at the counter was nice and bilingual which was helpfully for some of the customers that only spoke one language. This was a great stop before a flight out of state and I appreciate how clean & of how well the store was taken care. Went to Culver's for the first time and had the worst burger of my life -- like chewing greasy cardboard. But it was lunch, I had paid for it, so I ate it. The pickles helped, but the two shreds of wilted lettuce didn't. The staff was friendly and helpful, the ambiance pleasant and the level of cleanliness pretty good, so the single star is strictly about the absolutely awful food. read more

The food is really good, and I have never had an issue with the gluten free buns. The prices are high though, and the service has been hit or miss. Last time I went, the employees were rubbing their faces and nose with their gloved hands, which they then used to handle food and drinks. Definitely made me reconsider eating there. read more

terrible service! i'm writing with for my 84 year old grandma, she lives in the apartments behind the cluvers and comes in regularly but the last time was very different, she went in with her friends as normal and waited at the counter to be talked to and was ignored for 10 minutes while a woman walked back and forth rolling her eyes and looking her up and down, then the woman with the name tag crystal came up to serve her when she came up to her she was completely rude and rolled her eyes multiple times while my grandma was ordering her food, my grandma is hard of hearing so when the woman behind the counter asked her a question she couldn't hear her, and proceeded to tell her "she needed to speak up" my grandma said excuse me and crystal proceeded to repeat her statement when my grandma looked at her like she was crazy crystal then walked away and said she was about to be off and that someone else could help her, this isn't usually how she's treated when she comes in but she left very very upset and does not want to come back, i will also be going to corporate about this read more

Was heading somewhere else for burgers, when I saw a billboard for this place and it looked good, so I changed course. I regretted my decision later. I ordered a butterburger value basket, and added the "thick bacon" they had advertised all over the restaurant. I'm not sure how my order came up to $16, and the person working had a hard time explaining it to me. This was the price of a gourmet burger at mid-tier restaurants, so I rolled with it thinking it might be amazing. It was not. The burger patties were super thin, small, and unseasoned. I couldn't taste any butter on the buns. They added a good amount of bacon, but it was certainly not "thick." The burger was not worth what I paid. The pretzel bites it came with were pretty good. The nacho sauce they came with was nothing special. The kids meal my daughter got was just a prepackaged applesauce with a boxed juice, and bland over cooked tiny chicken fingers. I had a serious hankering for a Reuben no matter how far the drive or how big the ocean I'd sail to get one. I was thrilled since they're near me. It's too bad, because the burgers are good and I like that broccoli is available as a side item instead of fries. A good visit I stopped in last night for a late dinner, planning on one of their Butterburgers. There was congestion at the counter, which gave me time to look over their rather extensive menu. Changed my mind and decided on their Grilled Reuben Melt. Once I could make my way to the counter I gave my order and got a number to place on my table. My order taker asked me if I wanted a basket, I said yes, I had seen on the menu that was basically a combo, i.e. fries and a drink. Not sure why they call it a basket, there was no basket in sight when I got my food. The food took longer than I expected to be brought to my table. I understand things are made to order, still too long. But it did arrive, and I dove in. I very much liked the flavor of the sandwich. The bottom slice of bread was pretty soaked which made it a little messy. Crinkle cut fries are not my favorite style but as that type of fries go, they were done quite well. Worst service ever! Working in the service industry I understand that some days are bad but I have given this location way too many tries. First time I went, they informed me they were out of ice cream. Not just one flavor but all flavors.... At first, I thought it was because the machine or freezer broke which caused all the ice-cream to spoil but then I saw people in the drive thru receive ice-cream about 10 min later so apparently that was not the case. Then on 2 separate occasions I went and they closed their doors way before closing. There were people inside but the doors were locked. Apparently, when they get flux of customers they become overwhelmed and the first thing they do is lock the doors. I guess Publix and baskin robins will be my new place of choice. read more

Culver's is a fast food burger joint from the Midwest, known for their amazing True Blue team members and excellent customer service. While the customer service was very friendly, even oddly so, it does not make up for the wait time to receive the "fast food." Yep, the food is not fast at all. I was watching as the kitchen manager was letting the entire kitchen staff know that they were passing the 5 minute mark on some orders, 10 minute mark on others, and even 15 minutes on a few orders--- like mine. So, my main recommendation is to definitely try the place, to draw your own conclusions on everything. But, please oh please--- avoid the drive thru. There is nothing worse than sitting in your car for almost a half hour when you could be entertained inside by other angry customers. Since Culver's is famous for their Butter Burgers (burgers with butter added, aka extra grease), I ordered a Wisconsen Butter Burger (patty with 2 pieces swiss and mushrooms). It was beyond awesome. But, I think it was the side of Fried Cheese Curds that made the order late. They sure have some issues making those little things. The Cheese Curds were decent, but the breading way too thick. The onion rings looked excellent, so I will be trying those next time. The crinkle fries did not looked more hood than good. Since Culver's is a Midwestern chain, they have interesting items like Fried Cheese Curds and Fried Pork Cutlet Sandwich. They also have their own brand or root beer, which is practically flavorless, or maybe the tap was out of syrup. The color was right though. The old folks around here love the place for two reasons, 1) because most of the old folks are familiar with the chain from their first homes in the Midwest, 2) because they also serve some old WWII mess hall favorites, like; Fried Chicken with Tater Mash, canned green beans, and piece of dry bread Processed Sliced Beef (Pot Roast) with all of the same yummy fixens as the fried chicken meal Various rehydrated soups, for those who do not have teeth anymore Paid for a concrete, was not pleased with the consistency or lack of flavor. The service and the food was very good. In the evening, a lot of times it is mostly young folks. That is the only time things are slow. This is a good location. Such a disappointment. I have gotten the chicken many times and always good. A friend told me try the burger, "they're great" - well it wasn't even ok. Food was great. Better than the food however, was the amazing act of human kindness that I just witnessed! Employee, Cranston Sheppard, look out the window and saw patrons in need and bolted to their rescue. A senior couple had parked their car, the woman had come around to the passenger door to help the man out of the car and to his walker. Cranston helped open the car door, and physically helped him out of the car and held him up until he had a firm grip on his walker. As if that weren't enough, he kept hold of the man and walked behind him and escorted him to a table, made sure he was seated comfortably, and proceeded to bring them menus so they could place their order. I took the closest parking spot I could possibly find to the line, just to have the worker come out and berate me about leaving the line. One step above Steak and Shake! For the money I should've went to Five Guys, but figured we would try them because they are always busy. I don't see the hype. The Cheese curds were the best thing besides the soda. lol The butter burger was greasy and raw, the Deluxe was ok but the meat was so thin you could see through it. Everyone in the drive thru was pulled off to the side to wait for their food and I thought they must be good but nope. And that wasn't even during a busy time. I will never be returning here again!
