I came here wanting a good hamburger. It was late in the day but upon entering this establishment, you would never know that because the staff is so kind. They greeted us and gave us time to figure out how we wanted our cheeseburger dressed. The store had patrons sitting down at tables and eating enjoying themselves. You rarely see that in a fast food restaurant. After placing our order we scooped up our drinks. We also collected some roasted peanuts. It's like a tradition to take home some peanuts. They are so good. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Even though 5 Guys is a tad bit expensive, I still feel it is worth the money. The flavor just blooms in your mouth. Always a favorite place to eat when we are around this area. Food is good, service is nice, and we always leave happy. Just a side note, maybe have someone clean the drink machines more often. Ordered in the restaurant for takeout. Hamburgers were well seasoned, tasty and huge. The little cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and toppings weren't skimpy like other burger joints. The bacon cheeseburger was likewise delicious with crispy bacon and added toppings perfect. Ordered only 1 regular fry and was more than enough for the two of us. Been a while since we've been to a Five Guys. As usual, the food did not disappoint. I had a Bacon Cheeseburger and my wife had Regular Hamburger. All cooked perfect. We shared a large order of fries and the amount was immense! Good stuff. The reason for 4 vs 5 stars was the smell. At first I thought it was a nearby trash can so I moved far away. Same smell. It's 11:25 on a Saturday and this place is packed. It might be that I am in Bradenston, FL where the population gets up earlier and goes to bed earlier than most. But there are also young families here, I guess its because this place is really affordable and I can see why they go there. Love the single cheese burger and fries. OMG, the fries are amazing and you can never eat them all by yourself. I like how they post which farm the potatoes came from. Really cool. I love all the extras that you can add to your burger with "NO" extra charge. The grill onions are my favorite. Now if there is a long line they also give away free peanuts to munch on but I stopped eating them when I go here because I want to enjoy the fries, but anyways you look at it, what a great bargain. read more

Really good burgers made immediately after you order them, so they're as fresh as can be. Fries are great too - they even have a whiteboard telling you where the potatoes they're using that day came from (guess what - it's Idaho!). Keep in mind that they go overboard with the fries though, so you can order a size down and still be okay. They'll dump more in there anyway. This particular location is in the giant strip mall area in Lakewood Ranch, so good luck with the parking. But otherwise, this is a good burger spot, as most Five Guys are. read more

It's my own fault, but I have never visited a Five Guys before. I actually really loved it! Can this even be called fast food? It was made fast, but with such fresh ingredients. Everything came out hot and to order. It was a very filling meal and I only got the small size of the burger. I love that they had bags of potatoes that they cut fresh and then made the fries from them. Not many places are that transparent with how they make their food or what is in your food. The staff was really friendly, they make great recommendations as that was my first time, and the food came out quick for it being so fresh. They were also constantly cleaning the tables the walls the doors, everything it was great! read more

Giving this burger joint a 5 star.... First off, the manager in charge was working as hard as the rest of the employees when I went in today. The restaurant was clean as a whistle, employees were working their tails off. I told my cashier it was my first time in a Five Guys. He explained the menu in detail and were very nice. I watched as the cooks and workers put the freshest ingredients on my burger, it was the best burger I've had since I was a kid. The only other person I knew who could cook a mean burger like that was my grandma! This place rocks. I'm already craving it again. ;) read more

I am not into the huge, 1/2 lb, ultra-thick burger, I like a smaller burger and it has to be uber greasy. I love Five Guys! I worked about 1/2 mile from the original location in Northern Virginia years ago and love the coast to coast success of the franchises. You get a reliably consistent burger at any location! Clean and friendly as always. You pay a premium but you get what you pay for. They now offer 2 sizes on fresh potato french fries (Istanbul on have one size). Some locations have upgraded to "freestyle" machines but not this one. Got my order wrong. When I took it to the counter the "manager" said he needed receipt which I had already thrown away but I went and got it. He flung his hands at the receipt and said " it's been in the trash you think I want that?" I didn't hand it to him though, I put it on counter at his request. Besides, who needs a receipt? It's your burger bad if it's wrong, fix it. He brought new burger out with brown lettuce and got upset I asked for fresh lettuce. Won't be coming back here with that kind of attitude. This is my first time eating at Five Guys after hearing much hype about it. Overall, it was an ok experience. It is kind of expensive because a full combo meal costs about 10 bucks (more if I had ordered a regular sized burger). The wait for my burger was about 7-8 minutes from the time I ordered but I usually dont' mind waiting for freshly made burgers because that means it would be good. I ordered the mini cheeseburger, fries and a drink. I would give the burger a 3.5 to 4 star because it's customizeable and the meat is really good. The only thing I don't like is the bun because it just breaks apart while eating. I think they should change it to something less fluffy. I was really hoping the fries would be better because it looked good--hot with peel and all. I was disappointed that it wasn't really crispy and a bit soggy from all that grease/oil. Although they do give a huge portion of fries, it's not worth $3 to me. Especially since I could only gobble down maybe 10 pieces total before I feel like throwing up. The fries were so oily that the oil soaked right through the bag. I don't see why people rave about the fries because to me, it wasn't good. I would go back to Five Guys if I am in the area and have a huge craving for burgers, but next time, I will do just fine without the fries. read more

Love the food but WHY NO OUTDOOR SEATING? This location in a strip mall had a few outdoor tables in its previous location, then relocated to a larger spot in the mall and now has NO outdoor seating. WHAT??? This in inexplicable given COVID -- and we live in lovely FL where you can dine outside year round. What's more, there is plenty of space for at least 6 to 8 small tables under a covered front patio. Plus Most of the other restaurants there do have outdoor seating, including Shake Shack, Burger Fi and even Wendy's -- all within a mile of Five Guys. Note to FIVE GUYS Management-- you're missing the boat on this opportunity. With Covid there are many folks like us who simply won't dine inside yet. read more

I had a vegetable sandwich here, and it was the most miserable sandwich/burger I ever had. It was so soggy and for the same amount, I could and should have gotten a bag of fresh salad from the nearest grocery if I wanted to have a vegetable-ish meal in the middle of the day. The floor and chairs were sticky. I almost cried while picking at my food and I won't be back to this location. Still pleased and glad we have a local Five Guys...but have to update my review based on our visit 2/27/14. Every employee (politically correct read: associates) was doing their jobs but all with a flat affect. It was after the dinner "rush" and about 7:30 and I'm sure they had a long day. Most were like Stepford Wives, which It was okay as I don't necessarily expect smiles, pats on the back and greetings, or the put-on phoney happiness of a cruise ship dancer or cult like Chick-Fil-A employees. Love CFA, BTW. There was one standout however who asked if dinner was okay and did we need anything, interrupting his sweeping up the peanut shells on the floor. Then he was scraping the griddle, then at the register, then straightening the seating outside, then back to the register. He never stopped moving and never stopped working. Although young, must be a manager, huh? No, it's Eduardo just an employee/associate that knew how to work and get ahead. Don't know his life or his plans but longterm I'm sure it doesn't include scraping grease and crud from the griddle top. Having run businesses, this is the type of guy you pray walks in the door. Note to the franchise owner, area managers, competitors, and corporate folks; watch this young man, mentor him, give him responsibility, and you will be doing yourself a favor! read more

Yes, their burgers are better than McDonalds or Burger King... but jeesh, you are comparing yourself to the worst eating places in the world. I came to this 5 guys because I was craving greasy fries and they do serve great fries. This particular 5 Guys was just like the other ones: bags of peanuts and potatoes around the floor, clean courter on the back of the store, with a open clean kitchen. The fries were just out of the frier, so they were extra greasy (yay! [sarcasm]) but that is what I was craving, so got what I asked. I've tasted 5 Guys burgers and would probably not come back.
