I usually visit during non-peak times. The service is always great. The employees look genuinely happy to be of service (always a plus in my arbitrary point rating system lol) The manager on duty walks around and makes sure everything is OK and asks if you need anything. Even though this is a "buss your own table" kind of place, employees occasionally come by to take trash if you are finished. The food quality is great for the price and the frozen custard (addictive) is hard to beat. Also, the employees occasionally walk around with samples of their flavor of the day custard. read more

I was terribly dissatisfied with the lack of service that I received at the Culver's in Matteson, IL. I've been to many different Culver's restaurants and I've never been treated with such disrespect. I ordered a kids meal. With the kids meal you get a scoop of ice cream. The employee that took my order didn't offer to fulfill my ice cream token. So I didn't get it at that time. When my sister came to the table with her 2 kid's meals, ice cream in tow it reminded me to go and get my ice cream. After I'd finished my meal I tore the Scoopie token off of my bag and took it to the counter to redeem my ice cream. The employee told me that I'd torn the wrong coupon off of the bag. So I told him that was all I saw on or inside of the bag. He just kept repeating himself as if I didn't understand. Then Amanda the manager stepped in. From the start she had an attitude. I told her the same thing that I'd told the other employee. I told her that I didn't get my ice cream with my meal. For some reason she didn't believe me and she started to question it. I guess she assumed that I was trying to get the ice cream for free. Collectively we'd spent over 20.00 on food and ice cream. Why would I try to get something for free after paying for my food? She asked me for my order number and I gave her the number I thought was mine. I didn't have the receipt because I'd thrown everything in the trash. When she pulled up the order she recited the order with an attitude and told me that I did get my ice cream because she made that order herself. I told her that wasn't my order number because I'd only ordered one kid's meal and that order had two kid's meals and an extra ice cream. That order belonged to my sister. I told her that I would gladly try to retrieve my bag and receipt from the trash. She just kept cutting me off. I even pointed out the guy who had taken my order. She just refused to help me. She didn't even attempt to ask the other employee who both took my order and brought me my food if he'd given me ice cream. So after about 3 minutes of arguing with her she asked which ice cream flavor I wanted. I chose the flavor of the day which was chocolate covered strawberry. She stalks over to freezer and returns with this very small scoop of ice cream. This scoop was small even for a child. I asked her where the chocolate that was supposed to cover the top layer of the ice cream was and she lied and told me that there was no chocolate that was supposed to cover it. My sister had just ordered two of the exact same thing and Amanda herself admitted to making earlier in the conversation. I put the ice cream back on the counter and walked out of the restaurant. My sister came behind me and told her that she'd just ordered the same ice cream and that both of her scoops had chocolate on top. Again Amanda the manager refused to put chocolate on top of the scoop. When my sister asked for the number to the corporate office Amanda refused to give it to her. Needless to say we left very upset. After spending almost 6.00 for a kid's meal all I expected was what I'd paid for. Later that day we came back and ordered kid's meal through the drive-thru. When we got up to the window Amanda was there to give us our food. But not before she rolled her eyes and gave us a scoop of the flavor of the day. And this scoop had chocolate on it. Just like the other two my sister had ordered earlier and unlike the one she tried to give me. I don't know what your policies are and I do not believe that the customer is always right. I do however believe that everyone is to be treated with respect. I am more hurt than angry at the situation. I don't like to "pull the race card" but I do feel as if I was racially profiled. I did not appreciate her tone and her attitude. If I'd known this was they type of service I'd be getting I would have gone somewhere else. A bad report travels a lot faster than a good one. If is the type of service that is being given at the Matteson location, I wont be surprised if that location is closed very soon. read more

Visited twice in one week. Both times we used the drive thru. First time we ordered 2 burgers (greasy but damn tasty), 1 fry (not great), 1 fried cheese curd (unbelieveably good), 2 sodas and 2 single scoop custards (excellent). The food is not the problem....... After 20 minutes waiting to order (it was worse inside) then 25 minutes after ordering, some teenie girl comes out with the food and 1 custard. She basically drops it in my wife's lap and says "that it?". After informing her we did not receive a custard and 2 sodas, she went back and it took another 5 minutes. I proceeded to devour my custard pre-dinner, mom would be dissapointed. Second visit we went for custard again. No food just custard. The line was only 3 cars to order. 3-4 minutes and our order was paid. We pulled forward and proceeded to wait 15 minutes for partially melted ice cream. They were acting like chickens with their heads cut off, asking people what they had instead of looking at the dang order ticket. This is 100% a sign of extremely weak management. Culver's in Tinley Park Il Is the Best! Have been there once a week,Service is great. Food is very fresh.Never had any issues. I guess that's why they have been voted the best for many years. On customer service,And also to go food.On the to go food it's always packed correctly.I go out of my way just to come to this Culver's. Went here for fresh cooked food. I ordered corn dogs for me and my kids. Eat in... They were ready in 30 seconds. I took a bite they were soft greasy and old. I asked for fresh corn dogs. They brought out more in like 1 min. Still greasy. They just re duped old ones in grease. Still sucked. I returned my food and won't be back. Culver's is awesome. I mean, I really love Culver's. This review is about the service at this particular location. My friends and I came here before a concert on a Sunday around 6 pm. The place was full of local residents, as well as other concert goers. The service was extremely slow, to the point of waiting 25 minutes for a cheeseburger and fries, and at which point, my order came out wrong, but they did correct it thankfully. One of my friends ordered just a burger and her order became lost. Rather than acknowledge this, the workers kept telling her "it's coming up." More than 45 minutes later, she still did not have her order. She let them know this again but they gave the same reply. At this point, the crowd had diminished greatly and there was no excuse. Culvers is a upscale fast food Resteraunt. After your, they give u a card and if u want, u sit in the dining area and your food is brought to you in a very timely fashion. The food is fresh, and toppings are served on your sandwich or nicely on the side. There no other way to put this...The food is Phenominal.... Very well cooked, and neatly served. All the workers were kind and welcoming and seem more than Familiar with the menu. They also were very giving when it comes to proportion sizes. Stopped by with a group from work between meetings. Culvers was just what the doctor ordered! Hot, fresh food, ready in a hurry. The house brand root beer was really good, and the burger was great. The star of the show was the girl working the dining room. She helped us push a couple of tables together, picked up our trays and trash when we sat around for a bit after we finished eating, and was working hard to keep the tables clean and the place in order. First discovering Culvers while in Wisconsin, they have finally made their way to the Chicago area. They specialize in butterburgers, and they are pretty tasty. They also have frozen custard, and make many a different specialties. This location is always super clean, and a staff made up of some really friendly people. Culvers. You tricked me in believing that you were something different. Not like other fast food establishments, you bring your food to me with a weird type of half services that makes you consider tipping cause your employees are always super perky and nice, but then you make me clean up after myself so no tip for you. Your menu is pretty different too. You offer variety and choice in your greasy dining experience. People can rave all they want about your butter burgers but I like how you deep fry that chicken thigh. Mmmmmm. But sadly the last two times I have stopped in to eat. You have disappointed me. Your butter burgers are not very good and I do feel like I am choking on all the grease I am ingesting. It is also horribly over priced for "baskets" and the sandwiches are never dressed. Why is that? When I pay $4 to $6 for just a sandwich, could you at least sprinkle some lettuce or even slap on some sauce? Unacceptable. Very weak sandwiches knock you all the way down in my rating. I have given you 4 chances now and outside of that first experience where my judgement must have been impaired. I am truely disappointed. I am a big fan of Culver's for a tasty quick lunch. When it comes to chains these are the guys that all the others should try to be like. A few of us went to this location for lunch the other day and I was thoroughly impressed with their service. the dining room and the patio were packed and the line at the front counter was really long. In a typical fast food type place this would be a lunch experience of catastrophic proportions. They moved the line at the front counter very quickly and brought us our food really quickly. I've always liked Culvers but the crew that works here is great! From the moment you come in the door until they wish a good evening as you walk out. Shavera walked through the dining area and asked how she could make our visit better. My friend said some ranch dressing and I said kiddingly any free ice cream laying around would be good. I went there today with my friend and her mom and grandmother and I ordered the fries and the chicken tenders basket. Mind you when it's a basket there should be more than four pieces at least there should be six to eight pieces. Also they charge too much for four pieces of chicken since I made it a meal to get the cheaper price. I see Culver's commercials on tv and I've had them before when I was out with friends, but it's not as good as many other places. I also thought that the chicken tenders would be good they're not as meaty as other places I've ordered the same thing from. The food is OK, but not enough for me to rate higher. read more

I had been to Culver's before in Woodstock so I was prepared to be served in a nice, clean environment. I had the cranberry chicken salad which was pretty good and the fried chicken fingers. Overall better quality then one would expect at a fast food joint. I usually don't eat fast food but this is an exception. I wasn't originally going to write a review on Culver's but after I got home and there were several things missing I decided to. It took a solid 5 minutes at the register to get one of the four high school kids to break up their gossip circle and actually work. The kid that actually took my order was so disinterested in taking my order that it would explain why several things didn't make it to my bag. The kid that brought me my food practically threw it at me in a rush to get back. I had to ask another person for the chocolate shake that I ordered, because no one bothered to make it. Don't bother going here unless you want to waste your time and money. For the 2nd time I ordered a concrete mixer mint oreo, some how they have managed to mess up this order for the 2nd time. Went to the Culver's in Tinley Park before the Keith Urban show at Hollywood Casino Ampitheatre. The concert was awesome, wish I could say the same for Culver's. The person at the counter was very helpful and the wait staff was quick to bring the food. However, the burger I ordered was the GREASIEST burger I've ever had in my life. Grease was dripping all over and the toppings were sliding all over because of it. Told my friend we could have went to Burger King just up the street and it would have been better and cheaper. He agreed. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars instead of 1 is because of the counter person and the wait staff and also because we later ordered desserts and those were really good. We won't go to Culver's again for food but possibly for dessert. read more

When we walked in they had a few tables. We went and placed the order, the worker who took our order kept repeating what did.we need, we kept saying what we would like. He seemed like he was more interested in the other conversations that was happening with the managers,( I assume they were cause they were wearing blue, and he was in white). I ordered soup, he then said they didn't have any, how can you.run out of something? So the rest of party ordered I ordered nothing, due to me having dental surgery. We sat, food came out shortly after, food was semi warm, not very hot. We ate and mist of us eating the workers were tossing and playing with the numbers. They seemed to have more interest in games than work. There was a lady who was cleaning and asked if things were ok, we told her the food was cold and not very good, she went to them upfront she spoke to.them, they looked and continue doing what they were doing. Food is great, but the guy on Custard on October 28 (I think his name was Baha) kept me waiting for a concrete mixer for almost 8 minutes! Food was great but the service SUCKS!! My honey luvs this place and wanted me to try this location. My cheddar bacon burger was great, I have no complaints about that. However all the tables were DIRTY. If you haven't been to Culvers before, let me give you a little insight...ok so when u come in u order your food and they give u a number to place on your table and a server brings out your order to your table when its ready. Well we couldn't find a clean table to occupy. My honey goes and asks them can someone come out and wipe the tables down. NOTHING happens. So I get some napkins and attempt to wipe off a table that wasn't as bad as the others, however the table had dried up condiments so it needed to be washed. Well the same girl he asks to come and wipe down our table brings our food out, I tell her the table is dirty we can't possibly eat our food here. She gives us a confused look and says oh yeah i forgot and takes our food back to the kitchen. Next a guy comes out with our tray of food. So then we ask him, what's the problem with washing off the table, he's like oh yeah the girl will be out to wipe the table down, and then attempts to put our food on the dirty table. My honey takes the tray from him and holds it while we wait for the girl who finally come out with a dripping wet wash cloth. She washes the table and leaves. Now its soaking wet!!!! I get napkins and wipe it dry. SERIOUSLY, this was TOO MUCH for just burgers. If you are running a fast food place that offers seating, i don't think its too much to ask that the tables are clean, right! read more

i love culvers and the opened one in homewood off 183rd so it is closer but moved to lincoln park chicago for 5months and there was no culvers around. i mostly went there for dinner and subway for lunch lol. i only had there salads alot and also on the way home from detroit with a major hangover stoppd to get culvers at 11am and had their fried chicken which was the best food ever!! other than that i never tried their hamburgers but everything else is good read more
