This particular location is a few streets away from Broadway in Saratoga, where you will also find yet another Stewart's. This store was clean and well lit. This is the perfect place to stop in when you forget to buy milk or eggs at the grocery store. Stewart's has their own brand of beer too, it's fairly inexpensive and not too bad. A lot of my friends and acquaintances in the area love the ice cream from here, I would give it about 8 out of 10. There are a TON of flavor options!! This is definitely an inexpensive place to pick up a tasty frozen treat for a price that won't break the bank. Good place to take kids and you can use your debit/credit card, some of the mom and pop ice cream stands require you to have cash. You can buy pre-packaged cartons of ice cream or get a cone/sundae. So if you are wandering Saratoga and looking for ice cream, I recommend giving this a try over Cold Stone. You will probably save a few bucks!

This morning, I was staying at a nearby hotel which, from past experience, I knew had a mediocre breakfast. My other options were familiar fast food restaurants that have breakfast options. I chose Stewart's because I knew everything would be fresher. The breakfast sandwiches here are pre-made earlier in the morning but kept warm. But you know you're getting real meats and eggs on fresh breads. Their coffee is better than the hotel's and stronger than Dunkin's. Beyond that, it's all the Stewart's products you've come to know and enjoy.

The story is a textbook story of a local small town business that started with a single ice cream shop to 350+ convinince store across NY and VT. This area is one of those "gas wars" areas found around Ballston Spa - cheaper than in surrounding towns, but I think the stations on the south side of Ballston have better prices. I noticed that the lit displays on top of the pumps were today listing gas 4 cents a gallon higher than it actually was, and I'm not sure why you would want to leave a display active with higher prices showing. The lot was full this morning between people getting gas and going inside. I suspect people like to buy convenience groceries here because it would be a lot quicker than going into the Hannaford across the street. I bet they also come in here for coffee and breakfast sandwiches, rather than be the 8th car in line at the Dunkin drive-thru also across the street. Because of all the traffic coming in and out from both the Geyser Rd. and Rowland St. entrance/exits, all the people getting gas, all of the parking lot space in use, and a fairly narrow space between the pumps and the shop, you should drive slowly and very carefully through this parking lot.

The pharmacy seemed to be the most staffed part of the store, there were more behind the counter than any place else in the store. That's partly because of all the unmanned self-checkout kiosks in the front, somewhat crowded with a lot of other displays, service counters, and devices, many of which had "out of order" signs on them. The dark colored carpet and the dim lights add to the dreariness.
